This is the only video where I've seen it mentioned about lining up the notch on the pad and the piston! Is this why my rotor is nothing but rust for the (inside) outer inch?
At the 11:47 mark, what is that sensor you mentioned on the pad? I ordered 2 sets of front brake pads, but two pads have that sensor. From what I have searched online, the rear pads have that sensor. Is that correct?
@@RBTheMechanic I did some digging. Turns out the adjuster nut is located in the middle console inside the arm rest box. You most lift up a little carpet that's inside and walaaa!! There it is!!🤗🤗
I was just beating on the rotor bolts so much I broke 2 impact bits! I never had this much trouble ever. Even hammering any rust out and spraying it down with Blast Off
All I have is my manual impact driver. Not in my shop so no air or even my cordless impact. I used a punch and tried beating out any rust then tried lubing em and still can't get em loose. In 20 years it's never had this much damn trouble even with a manual driver.
@@RBTheMechanic I just took my trusty, 30 year old Craftsman drill and a 1/4 bit and drilled em out in about 10 seconds. Only reason I was even trying to get them out intact in cause the customer was like "I want them back in, they have a purpose"! I explained they don't so I just waited for her to take a trip to the bank and I drilled em out. ✌️
Hello would you know how much torque the rear wheel bearing takes have a!2013! Elantra also I’m gonna put 2 rear dust shield because there all rusty and I’m not sure if I have to remove the abs before I take off the wheel bearing
My computer dosent tell me to remove abs sensor. The torque spec on the main 4 bolts is 79.6ft lb. but about the abs sensor see if the bolt comes off it gently 99.9% time it jammed and will brakes but I don’t see that I should have to remove it ....
Not sure but I think it’s going to be done by removing the hub 😤 please subscribe also subscribe to my other channel the name is rc usa 201. But by the way you can do it remove the abs sensor what ever is around it and I think it has 4 bolts in the back
I just did this but I messed up I didn't check to see if tabs on the brake shoes line up with the caliper piston. I guess I have to take it back apart. Seemed like it went together okay?
U gotta take it out and finish it up it might snap in because it dose twist the function is for it to lock up the piston and internal turn but not piston
That’s brake squeak usually some brakes will squeak try using lubercation on the part where pad contacts caliper bracket and the hardware u can watch my video on gracing points on brake system here’s is a link to the video th-cam.com/video/sKrD8RoqRqk/w-d-xo.html
Probably. It comes farther out as the brake pads wear, so when you get new pads that are all the way back out, you have to push the piston back out to fit around them.
daramz d yup u can change only the pads if they look good ... please subscribe also subscribe to my other channel here’s a link th-cam.com/channels/vqsPzqAZfVv_gjBYUFqNdg.html

pj mclenon grease the caliper pins clean and greas them with good high temp grease ... put in good brake pads some brake pads will only last you 10k miles also when u put the pads in they should go in smooth you shouldn’t have to tap them hammer them force them in... please do all that

Nick swartz oh darn... next time just send me message for anything I have to of video on whole bunch of stuff many cars are similar diff set up but similar
@@RBTheMechanic Well pretty soon here im gonna be doing the back brakes and possibly rotors. Can I just use a c-clamp instead if that specialized tool?
Nick swartz clamp will not work because the piston need to be turned and pushed at same time but I can use long needle nose put it on the holes turn it and push it
Outstanding video! This helped me a lot before I attempted to do a brake job on my daughters 2013 Elantra!
Hi, nice video, on some other site, someone mentionned removing the oil from the disk with a cleaner, i didn't see that here, does it still apply?
Cleaning the rotors it has oil to prevent rust while in store stock
Good stuff bro. I'm fixing my brake pads and rotors this weekend. Thanks for the great video.
Ok cool thanks! Take ur time make sure pads fit in nice and smooth nothing should be forced in
Do you need to bleed the brakes when you do this? Should you remove the cap on the master cylinder before compressing the piston?
Simon Solomon remove the cap only don’t need to bleed it
This is the only video where I've seen it mentioned about lining up the notch on the pad and the piston! Is this why my rotor is nothing but rust for the (inside) outer inch?
Oh yeah it will be uneven and caliper wount work as it should that stops the piston from turning as well!!
@@RBTheMechanic Thanks! 🙂

Brake wear indicator year 2 pads will have it

Do you have to change disk every time you change pads or not?
Not every time but if they r ole rusted or if they r too thin also if u feel shake when bracking
What happens if after changing both rotor and pads you get a real light noise when you brake?
That’s brake squeak usually some brakes will squeak try using lubercation on the part where pad contacts caliper bracket and the hardware u can watch my video on gracing points on brake system here’s is a link to the video th-cam.com/video/sKrD8RoqRqk/w-d-xo.html
What if your brake fluid is leaking on the rear left wheel on driver's side
Replace the part that’s leaking usully calipers on these leak
Is the same process for a 2013 Hyundai Tucson gls
Similar here’s a live I have on 2014 th-cam.com/video/lX6xStb6mv8/w-d-xo.html
Is the caliper compressor always necessary?
Probably. It comes farther out as the brake pads wear, so when you get new pads that are all the way back out, you have to push the piston back out to fit around them.
Thank u. Very informative ✌🏾😎✌🏾
Yeah i don't have that tool to screw piston back in. I used c clamp on my front brakes
Ok
Where are you from RB for a 2013 elantra the car is not rusty

I didn’t see you compress the caliper ?
Time frame 5:28 is where I start to compress it
Great vid, but grease the pins ffs
Anyone have a caliper that just won’t compress? Tried everything including the tool they use and bleeding the caliper.
Got it. Needed to use a caliper compressing tool with 4 little pegs that forced the caliper piston to rotate with the bleeder valve open.
Can't believe I payed someone else $400 to do 2 of these.
