Lyrics
Keep looking through the window pane
Just trying to see through the pouring rain
It's hearing your name, hearing your name
I never really felt quite the same, since I've lost what I had to gain
No one to blame, no one to blame
Seems to me, can't turn back the hands of time
Oh it seems to me, can't turn back the hands of time
No one to blame, no one to blame
Seems to me, can't turn back the hands of time
Oh it seems to me, can't turn back the hands of time
Seems to me, can't turn back the hands of time
Oh it seems to me, can't turn back the hands of time
Seems to me, history was left behind - เพลง
I first heard this song on Collateral (2004)…. It was like the calm before the storm.... very soothing.
Me too. Same feeling also. I remember the scene...Jamie Foxx says "So you like the classics?" to this song. Obviously the actor had no idea what song was going to be played. But laughed when I looked it up. Song was made just a few years before the movie was made. Song has a classic feel, for sure! But I'm betting they had a plan for a different song to be playing.
I'm sure glad they went with this song. Absolutely fantastic choice for the movie, and I may never have heard this song if they didn't use it...what a travesty that would've been ;)
Same here, never heard it before, but what a great tune - only reason I looked it up🙌
Shaun Bassett that confused me as well - came expecting a soulful 70s song. As a English white guy in his 30s, Detroit has a lot to answer for - the beauty of Motown - brought up on that and Queen and AC/DC 😂
Me 2
@@Staticbroom The song the audience hears, this one, isn't what they're listening to in the cab.
My song , I'm 74 i only hope people will remember me through this song, you truly can't turn back the hands of time, but I've enjoyed every minute , the good , the bad, I've enjoyed it all , bless each one of you.
Enjoy every day Bro....Greetings from Sexy Scotland !
Blessing to you too, Richard!
Your awesome man, Australia.
Blessings to you Richard, Bristol Uk
May all your wishes come true and may you stay forever young.
Max and Vincent brought me here
One of my most favorites movies that is very underrated
Literally only at that scene and here I am 😂😂 Such a tune so glad I heard it
Me aswell 😊
Oh you like the classics then 😉
Underrated comment right here
I may never have heard this song if it wasnt for the movie "COLLATERAL"...and what a great loss in history that would've been.
So true
Same here.
Me as well. I looked it up immediately after hearing it and have been playing along on my keyboards. Great song!
I heard it in Everwood
This song gets around. It was also in 2005s Domino. Probably heard it in a dozen other movies but can't think of any others at the moment.
Chilling in a truck stop in Pasadena Texas waiting for my next load to go back home..opened Netflix on my phone .. I started watching the movie collateral and found this amazing song... so glad I did! 😊
Drive safe bro! I’m from southeast houston.
@@joaquinpenaguzman6802 you do the same bro! Lot a crazy people out there!..
@@luisalbertosalazar8121 I hope they gave you a light load with a great rpm too.
Bet you never look at a taxi the same way ever again
Drive on, chill on, Mr. Salazar! From Alv, Norway
My daddy just passed away. This was a song he sang to me as a kid. I'm gonna miss you, daddy. My world is cold and quiet without you.
🙏
Your dad had good taste. Sorry for your loss.
Don't worry, the dead live on through their loved ones. Shine brightly for him.
Your true inheritance is the Love he gave you and the Love you shared. FROM A dad and grandfather with Love baby girl ( AMEN )
Wish you strength and peace thank you for making the world a better place by sharing your precious memories❤
A documentary about leopards brought me here and I'm happy to celebrate their lives ❤
yes, I also came for the documentary about leopards, I really liked it♡
I am Brazilian:)
Heard this in collateral guessed the title but wasn't even close. Reminds me of when I was a little kid dad and I would sit on the porch during storms he'd strum guitar licks some standard r&b some made up as we'd go along. One long song sometimes. If the music took him he'd write the lyrics as he went along. Other times it was the stuff he'd been playing his whole life. Sam and Dave, Otis, songs he played in concerts with Delbert(straight jackets)(rondells) Arthur Conley stuff. I hope to find that peace again. I hope you've found it again dad. I miss you.
Everybody talking about collateral, but I'm just amazed that this is Groove Armada
Josman Heath I'm not amazed this is groove armada, they are without a shadow of a doubt one of the very best British bands of the last 25 years. They can literally turn their hand to any gene and not only do it, but do it extremely well. Their live shows have became legendary too. You should check out all their stuff. It'll be well worth it 👍
Took me by surprise too
Same here!
2890CM you make it sound like someone's complaining
@2890CM I know 👍 But when you read your comment it sounds like you’re trying to settle a difference or complaint that isn’t there.
Great film great storyline and the background music is lit Hollywood needs more film like thos
I'm only in my 40s...and I still wouldn't mind turning back the hands of time for a few moments.
The only way out .. is through.
Watching Colletral movie...just can't resist to search for the song....very soothing...hummable....real music
Been listening to this song ever since i saw collateral back in '04, we cant turn back the hands of time but if we could i know it be to see our loved ones we lost way to early, miss you mom and will never forget you.
Me too bro. Such a good song
This gentleman opened Woodstock!!
WOW!
Richie Havens?
The best song of collateral...❤
So, in April I died. I went to hospital with chest pains and they rushed me into the catheter lab, where I died. 8 minutes later, I came back.
I woke up the next day (the day of Prince Philip's funeral actually) in intensive care - after I'd woken up and it was clear I hadn't suffered brain damage, I was left alone. I had my phone and headphones with me, and this song is the song I put on first.
I couldn't listen to all of it, it was too much, too emotional. I well up even now just thinking about that moment.
This song pulled me through. Needing to hear this song again pulled me through. I'll be forever indebted to it.
Bro....i died during my first HA....25 SECONDS....PADDLED ME BACK...i try to live every day like is my last...
What a warm welcome back to life, brother. I wish you all the best
I came here to talk about audhd and got way more than I expected from the comment section but in a good way. I'm not crying I just have something in my eye shut up
Some songs are played at the prefect time and they stay with us the rest of our lives.
This song has helped me in so many ways, its like that little light that I need on my darkest moments, just beautiful.
Never give up
Real quality music like this one will live 4ever just brilliant.
I remember watching Collateral with my dad around 2005-06. He’s no longer among us, but when I want to live again those beautiful moments I play this masterpiece. It helped me elaborate my grief, and it still does. Thank you Groove Armada.
I have been searching for this song easily 8/10 year's. All I knew was the humming at the start. I heard it somewhere before in a movie (Collateral). I've been humming this tune for year's to people to see if they knew it,but had no clue.
This morning my brother was watching Midnight Club on Netflix and it was playing. At long last I'm outta my misery.
Collateral 2004❤
Honestly I had never watched Collateral until a couple of days ago but I really enjoyed it.
@@cooperwolfe5478 Yes good movie
Qué hermoso tema.
Lo conocí a través del film "Colateral".
Es de esas composiciones musicales que se quedan en tu alma y en tu corazón para siempre. Definitivamente.
TIL I loved this song for 20 years, not because it was excellent (which it is), but because i have audhd and I'm genetically predisposed to loving this song
An awesome tune for anyone who looks in the past with regret!
so like, everyone^^?
No regrets.
Not everyone
it just sounds good to me. I imagine a music video in reverse from breakup to the first time they met, and the viewer is left to wonder if he really turned back the hands of time.
Amen brother. Sometimes it’s hard to stomach certain losses when you realize that a simple shift could have made a difference in the river of destiny
Max the cab driver, and Vincent the assassin brought me here, and listening the rain fall in this night of July 2021
"Yo Homie, is that my briefcase?"
Waah
Lol
Yeah, it's your briefcase. Why? You want it back?
i really love that scene when Jamie Foxx and Jada are driving in the taxi
Saw this song on top gear American road trip and have wanted it ever since for a sunny evening. Now I have it thanks
You mean the one where they have all those beater American cars that they paint US-dissing graffiti on?
My dad played this song in his car and I instantly fell in love this song
Yo dad must be the coolest people around. Just like my dad did the same. 👍
Is your dads name happen to be Max?
@@DB-ed1nw haha, good one.
From Collateral ❤️
"Now we gotta make the best of it. Improvise, adapt to the environment."
Darwin.... I Ching 😂
Heard this beautiful song on the movie, Collateral. I'm so glad
I found who song it, and the title!!!
It's 2023 and this hits same whenever I open it after 1-2 years
Underrated movie
Max & Vincent told me the same thing! So no regrets!
This is a beautiful song. First time hearing it today
its really tough to see life after death sometimes this song helps dry the tears when remembering love lost forever
Helps to articulate those unspoken feelings too.
But that love continues to live on right?
@@pilgrim.on.a.narrow.road. yes it does
@@pilgrim.on.a.narrow.road. time heals new love can begin a way
gotta love them classics
Gracias totales "Colateral" por introducirme nuevamente al mundo de la Buena Música
I just heard this song on the film collateral I just had to hear it again its lovely going to add to my music library
Max, Vincent and Starlord put the groove in me!
Something 70’s and Dobe Gray about this. Heard this years ago coming back from a late appointment mid winter whilst heading back home. Love it
I can't believe I've never heard this song!
I just heard it at the end of "Cold Case Files"
So lucky to have figured out the name and it popped up on TH-cam.
Beautiful song...
It touches my heart and my soul in a moving way.
Now to look for the CD.
You'll be disappointed this is actually a euro house electronic band
I listened this song on 2008 at first time
Me too
Max and vincent sent me too
What a classic this song is
I would have sworn this is a 60's jam from Otis Redding or Al Green...Thanks Michael Mann.
Definitely an early '70s-esque tune with that beautiful Fender Rhodes sound.
Ritchie havens
Mann’s grandpa was a taxi driver.
Pure nostalgia for something lost forever with so much regret.
This song is soul soothing
Mes oreilles en sont toutes retournées! Longue vie à la musique
17 million people; if this were a country, it'd be the fifth biggest economy in the world and nobody knows each other..... I read about this guy, gets on the MTA here, dies. Six hours he's riding the subway before anybody notices his corpse doing laps around L.A., people on and off sitting next to him. Nobody notices....
A guy gets on the MTA here in L.A. and dies.. Think anybody'll notice?
Collateral. That’s what got me here too.
Good stuff
Yo homie, is that my briefcase
It's Riche Havens providing the vocals and he died from a heart attack at home with his family. Not sure which poor soul it was who died on a subway train but it wasn't Richie.
What a gem this is
Such a wonderful song. I absolutely love it.
Thankful for placements and soundtracks that exoosed me to great music and great bands like this . Salute.
Red Light, Max!
A melodia te faz ficar leve é suave
Never thought Jamie Foxx driving Jada Pinket Smith brought me here. Such a good jam, great underrated film, great soundtrack!🎼😌🎶
Amen. Collateral is such an underrated undisputed masterpiece!
In 2003 this awesome older girl (16yrs) named Jamie Wang recommended this song, aphex twin, Ani DiFranco and a bunch of others as recommendations for awesome songs. She was the coolest girl I ever met. That day I became a hipster lol
Such an amazing song!
🎵🎵You mind turning that up❔You like the classics.🎵🎵
Wow just got out of rehab…very relevant
Damn this song man! I stumbled on it watching a rerun of the NBC show "Las Vegas". So soulful, reminds me of friends gone. Just hits different. I feel like I've know this song my whole life.
Agree ...Max & Vincent brings me here
Reminds me of childhood.
God Bless Richie Havens' soul!
Thank you! I never knew who sang this.
