  • A quick video introducing my 1985 John Deere 318 with a 44 loader. I picked up this tractor to use for various work projects. Stay tuned as I put it to work and go over various types of maintenance. Thanks for watching!

    I had no idea they made such an attachment for the 318, man I have to have that even though I don't need it lol.

    i was wondering how it installed on the 318 john deere and hooked ups for the hydrualic hoses

      There’re a subframe for the loader that bolts to the tractor at the transaxle and on the frame further forward. There are no hydraulic hoses to hook up. Instead, there’s a hydraulic pump that’s part of the loaders hydraulic system that mounts where the mower mule drive normally goes.

      I replied to your other comment with a video link. I didn’t remove the other channel, it still exists.

      Go watch the video, it literally explains why I created a new channel.

    Does this require a front pto

    • @outdoorpowerhouse
      @outdoorpowerhouse  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the front PTO runs the hydraulic pump for the loader.

    What is the listing capacity for the loader?

    • @outdoorpowerhouse
      @outdoorpowerhouse  ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe it’s 450lbs on a 300 series tractor like this, slightly more on a 400 series tractor.

    Doesn’t the loader use the transaxle oil also? Or is it run off it’s own hydraulic system? Where is the hydraulic pump located and how is the pump powered? Thanks I’m going to build a loader for my 318 . My one main concern is does the transaxle system have enough reserve capacity so the loader won’t run the transaxle low on fluid when picking the arms up. Or should 2 way hydraulic cylinders also be used on the arms also?

      No, the 44 loader has its own reservoir and pump. The pump mounts where the mower Mike drive normally goes and is run by the front PTO.

      @@outdoorpowerhouse thanks for the info on the pump. . I was think of mounting a pump on rear and making a drive shaft to run off the rear pto. Really don’t want a hydraulic hose running down each side though. I once had a Ford 801 that was self contained similar to what you’re saying. It had about a 12 inch shaft that bolt to the tractor engines crank.
      Do you recall the gallons per minute pump that was on yours?
      I’m only going to have 3 cylinders. 2 lifting and 1 for bucket dump. I believe if I use all 3 double action cylinders after the initial transaxle and cylinders fill up my transaxle level would stay about the same. Plus the filter system already be provided. What’s your thoughts on a system like that? Would adding a loader to the existing hydraulics be to much think I’d have oil over heating issues? I’ve only used either of the 318’s I’ve got to mow grass . I’ve never really put a lot of pressure on their hydraulic systems like some of you guys has. When it’s done it’ll only be used for flower bedding and yard work. I’ve got a jd 3010 with a loader for big jobs . But it destroys the yard it’s so heavy
      I did add atv tires to one of the 318’s and loaded them with windshield wiper fluid. A real noticeable improvement

      I believe the pump is 1000psi and 4.5gpm. I wouldn't recommend using the tractor's existing hydraulic system, I just don't think it will be up to the task of handling the loader, I think the loader operation will be too slow and possibly not enough pressure. Good luck.

      @outdoorpowerhouse hey I have a 330 with only 2 ports for hydraulic lines in front. Can I split the lines to have multi functional up down and bucket up and down. Let me know thanks

    How much it cost? I'm looking at one in a little rougher condition and seeing how price stack up

    • @outdoorpowerhouse
      @outdoorpowerhouse  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Prices vary but I’d expect to pay $3000-$4500 depending on condition and accessories included. The loaders themselves generally go for $2500+.

      @Kevin no, not sure how you’re coming up with that number. I said $3000-$4500, loaders themselves typically sell for about $2500...
