- The Vanderbilt Commodores and Louisville Cardinals faced off in a rematch in the 2019 College World Series. Vandy beat the Cardinals a few days ago to enter the winners bracket. This featured the best team in the SEC against the best team in the ACC. A Vanderbilt win would clinch a spot in the College World Series final against Michigan, while a Cardinals win would force a winner take all game. College Baseball is one of the fastest growing sports leagues in the United States, and this condensed game showed a great battle between the 2 best teams in the 2 best conferences in Omaha.

Prior to this season, they had never won more than a single game in the World Series, despite having the most wins since 2007, and he has always had questionable managerial decisions. This was a prime case. I don't wanna be like Florida State with over 20 World Series but zero World Series championships.

If Louisville is back in the World Series again next season, he's gonna be the same way if he's pitching another great game. Plus, people clearly don't know, but Louisville and Vandy are rivals in baseball. Play every season and play for a trophy.

Luke Smith unwittingly helped fuel the flames of Vanderbilt’s comeback win. Never, never, never, taunt the other team because often times it will bite you in the butt. Ask all the teams that trash-talked Brady and the Patriots, it fanned the flames. Of course it was Tom and New England coming home with the hardware!

As a Louisville fan I love that people have so much hate for us. Whether it's football because of Bobby Petrino (despite the fact he's no longer here) or basketball because of Pitino (despite the fact he's no longer here) or even baseball now because a pitcher was dominating and showed some fiery emotion. I love the hate. I'd rather be hated instead of people having no interest at all... When you think of schools/teams you hate, Louisville will be in your head and I love that.

First off amazing performance by Luke Smith but, he should’ve been pulled before the 9th because you’d rather put the game in the hands of the closer no matter what circumstance. Too bad Louisville didn’t pull through but, Vanderbilt vs Michigan is going to be good! On the other hand, everyone is talking about how Smith was talking crap to Vanderbilt. When you shut down the best college baseball program in the country for 8 strong innings, you are able to say anything you want. Love the intensity out of the kid, makes the game more fun and enjoyable to watch.
