There's a lot more to fishing than just catching fish, and there's a hell of a lot more to your channel than all of the others. I've read some of the comments on this and your other videos.... have you realised just how many people you've helped? Good man!
There's some channelsI keep an eye on from time to time, but there's only a small number that I consider as must watch and you're right up there at the top of the list. Just watching your channel does wonders for my mental health and I'm sure I can't be the only one so keep up the good work.
You are so true what you said about booze leave everything behind same hear but back to me go fishing as much as I can relax bye the sea and enjoy starting to get smile on my face thanks buddy always good video from you give me smile on my face not alone cheers
Hey up Alex , thanks again for your content and honest open thoughts . Being an engineer having worked on-site at many locations around your home I'm curious about your job ! ( not that I expect any details on here ) . Over 37 yrs at the same company I became works superintendent organizing all that went with the running of a manufacture / repair engineering shop 24/7 . Because of the engineering skills I'd learned over the years the general machining planning and helping staff was a joy . What I didn't realise was how much all the other ( non-engineering ) tasks were praying on my mind ! . Health and Safety , employee assessment interviews etc etc . I loved the engineering challenges ( even went the night shift were ringing me at 10.30 at night ) but but but ........... for some reason one morning when getting ready for work ( at 5.00 am ) I could have cried , can't do this any more . I rang my boss to say I'm not coming back . I tuned into your videos because I used to be a coarse fishing match angler , didn't expect you would bring out these deep thoughts !!!!!!!!!! . I'm OK now by the way , working 2 days a week manufacturing /building rally cars . So , even when you think your happy doing your work stuff , just have a moment . Is it affecting my mood , my sleep ( do I dream about work issues that don't exits ) would I rather turn the car round on a morning and do anything else ? . Sorry for getting toooooooooooo deep , but if any of this hits a note just take a moment to assess whats important .
Fishing is good therapy. While I was still working and getting very stressed, my sensible other half would say “go fishing”. It was always a way to defuse, relax and destress. It works 👍
Hi Alex i was watching you from the prom when i was walking my dogs with my sons girlfriend i was telling her about the channel that fills up with water behind you and cuts you off , she takes more interest now when seeing people fishing after i took her fishing with me over in ireland ,we were fishing for about 2and a half hours caught a lot of mackerel and a few pollock she thought we had only been there an hour . she now understands why people go fishing and the benefit to your mental health which we discussed as i have had problems its good to talk .if i knew it was you i would of come over and said hello tight lines fella and keep up the videos
Well done mate, Vale is a nice place to fish, completely get what you mean about the ledges and sandbar at perch, can be a nightmare especially if the rays dig in. Make sure you come up for hound season will take you out the rock channel 😉 Good luck at mostyn bud
Just home after a 7 hour session in Galway Ireland with my son and blanked ohohohohoh . Bloody cold and not even a bite. The factory ships are coming in closer and closer each year and its killed the Barna area. So next trip will be In a place called Sligo next week. So fingers crossed . Nice stream mate many thanks 👍👍👍👍
Great video Alex. I really get where you are coming from regarding mental health. Awesome you are taking steps to look after yourself. I recognise a lot from what you say about you and I can apply it to myself.
Cheers Alex … I’ve a bit of project going on myself. My house got flooded back in November ground floor totally gutted everything destroyed lot of work to do 😢. Really appreciate and enjoy your channel mate, next best thing to being out. Good luck next week with the European Championship … Thanks Alex take care mate 👍🎣🎣
Another good video thank you for taking the time to do them I like that you use a product for a while and then give your opinion on it take care in the future
Great video, Alex. Don’t worry about rambling on…sometimes, all it takes is getting issues off your chest. I completely agree with your statement about just getting out there…I’m the same with my freshwater fishing. Good luck with your job and sorting out your new family home, mate.
Love your content and how you keep it real not fished in 25 years thinking of getting back into it my mental health is shit but it’s not cheap for fishing tackle
Thank you, and glad to hear you're looking to get back into it. As with anything mate, you can spend as little or as much as you want. You don't need £1,000 rods to catch fish, a cheap second-hand setup will get you up and running.
Great video Alex, that.weather looked perfect for getting your head back in a good place. Appreciate your hard work that goes into these videos. Cheers buddy and tight lines. All the best in the opens 👍👍
Double win, doing something you like that helps you feel good, keep up the best health and thanks for pushing for the males to search, little things. Still searching for the Cod on the East coast, lost all faith in ever disgorging a Bass again lol
Depends where on the east coast, but I know bass are starting to show already on Norfolk and the holderness. Hoping for a nice cod next weekend in the comps.
@@theawfulangler The Mersey is in my back yard and I have had some great days (and some bad days fishing there). I started watching your vids as I was researching fishing vids for trip to Anglesey later in the year.
Hi Alex, good luck with the move. Hope all ok. I moved during lockdown, that was hard work as I was working and wasn’t furloughed. Chill out bro enjoy the fishing. All the best.
We moved just before covid, with Sarah being a nurse and me working from home, I had plenty time and space to get the jobs done. Not so lucky on this next one 😂😂
I have the SRS version of the Airpower! Fished a match last week with it and first time with braid sea fishing in a VERY big swell and was really impressed with it and the line! Held bottom amazingly well! Weight of the reel was the only drawback (surfblaster 7000), so unsure whether to look for a lighter fixed spool or go with one of my Akios F15-XP’s in low reel position!
Hi mate,it was me fishing to your right,it was a tough session, the fishing was really slow, but nice to be out having a go 👍 Nice to of met you, good luck for next week 👍
Nice to have met you too buddy. A couple of the lads from the comp messaged me, whiting and a ray won it, so they were about. Maybe with all the rain, the flood is definitely the better option.
Good luck with the euros next week and good luck with the new move mate .thanks for talking about mental health I fished hornsea Friday stressful week but after fishing from low water to two hours down few fish but most importantly I feel better in myself for a days fishing.

We fished perch Rock on Saturday. Had 2 rays and lost one.
That was my first session in ages, great to get out 👍🏻
Nice one, I heard a ray won the comp Friday night too. They're definitely still about
Good vid mate fished there last week had a ray 3h before low then 2 whiting
The lads fishing next to me had a good ray bite about 3hrs before low, then nothing. Must be a bit of a trend on this mark 🤔
We all tend to get out there soon as the sand starts to show . Mostyn next week for me too funny enough only 12 mile down the road so really local
