good video, having something like this for someone wanting to do all moons is really helpful. i want to note some things to add on to this, like i think doing a TA run (where you can pause the timer during breaks and such,) going through the route, or watching a mid-level run without too many hard tricks before doing your first run would help a ton. having that knowledge and knowing where most of everything is when doing your first run would definitely make your run hours shorter than without it, which is pretty important if you don't want to/can't spend the entire day doing it. i remember when doing my first practice run i had to look up things in the route all the time and it ended up taking over a day to finish, but when i did my first real run it was almost sub 10. so yeah, being prepared is super helpful. also this doesn't really mean much for beginners but since you mentioned it, for the faster jump farm you only save time with it if you can mash at least 8 times a second on BOTH A and B, for a combined 16 jumps a second. the speed of the jumps max out at 20 jumps a second, or 10 presses a second for each button. i also find it easier to just do a really short jump without a cap throw to clip into the odyssey. so in short: good vid, be prepared for everything before the run to save yourself a ton of time, and jump farm under the odyssey's really dumb :)
Thank you this will help me do my first all moons run 😄 In all seriosness though this is a great video. Getting a lot of this info is pretty much just like ask an all moons runner and even then there usually isn’t a reference video and it’s all verbal description. So thank you for adding this as a resource for the community, I feel like it will really help a lot of people get into my (second) favorite main board. Anything else I would have wanted to say has already been said by heythere. Thanks for being such a helpful gamer tom
Just another thought for people who don't want to jump into the full run immediately but rather practice with shorter categories beforehand. Doing runs of Darker Side and All Sub Areas prepares you for like 70-80% of the moons as well as all the required World Peace stuff including roll cancel clips. Both categories are somewhere between 3 and 5 hours depending on your level.
Some runners don’t prep a lot of food, personally I usually have about 2 liters of water on hand, something to snack on, and 2 sandwiches. I don’t always eat everything but when you’re going for so long it’s important to have something there in case. I also don’t always eat before my runs because I may start early so that may be another thing

I’m only 81 spots behind your cap kingdom record, and I’m rising fast, so you better watch your back

Honestly this video breaks down the daunting thought of an AM run to just a few tricks. Very helpful stuff
Great video! Has me inspired to try a run. Now if only there was a tutorial on how to set aside 8+ hours for a run...
Thank you this will help me do my first all moons run 😄

Great video, Tom!
dropped a follow on the twitch :) thanks for the underrated content
maybe i could use some of these for my 3rd am run :)
What to do when I only recognise like 20% of the moons in the powerpoint route thing
Try the run in segments over multiple days, watch other people's runs, just take your time.
