It's difficult to compete with a classic this big - it's among the best of the best that the system had to offer, and with a library like the SNES had, that's an amazing achievement.
I think this is in the top 5(maybe 3) games ever made during its era. The game had everything a player could ask for. It's my personal favorite game of all time

It melts my heart to see you Hadouken Vile, the one enemy in the game I'm so glad to see meet his end. The fact that you have to deliberately lose to him twice to progress in the game his his demise all that much sweeter. Hey Vile, HADOOOOUKEN!
After replaying this game a few times, I think Capcom was trying to give the allusion of Mega Man growing up. In the classic games he's like a kid. In the Mega Man X games he's more like an adult. He's stronger and can do more, just like adults in real life. He no longer lives in Dr. Light's lab. He doesn't even live with Dr. Cain (at least I don't think so). He has no dog, or sister, or any friends, except Zero who's also an adult. It's like that in real life. After you get out of high school people go their separate ways and move out of their parents house. That's what X is. He's grown up and moved out of his fathers care. Dr. Light does talk to him, but only through a capsule, like a father talking to their adult son on the telephone. Capcom knew that children grow up and wanted a more suitable story for the aging fan base. Classic Mega Man is like a PG movie. X is like a PG-13, or R movie. Very smart decision by Capcom.
At this point in the story, Dr Light is long dead, and Mega Man, Rush, Beat, Tango (from the GB Mega Man V), Eddie (Fliptop), Auto, and Roll are who knows where.
It's a shame that Roll,Rush,Tango and Beat didn't get into the "Megaman X" series. It would've been so cool to see how Rush would've looked if he had his own "X" form.

Do you mean how to get to the platform with the exploding tanks? When you fall down from the tall thing, you have to dash as you jump, and when you get close to the ledge, hold right and press jump to climb up. You have to have the dash boots from Chill Penguin's stage to do it.
No, X is an entirely different robot built by Light himself, while the original Mega Man was a joint session between Light and Wily. X also isn't naive like Mega Man was.

I did find it weird at the beginning that it said he wasn’t supposed to harm humans, possessed human cognitive thought. Except Classic Mega Man already had that in him, it’s just he almost went over that “harm humans” part in Mega Man 7 when he defeated Wily and was considering killing him. I did look up on the Wiki that Zero was created by Wily, but is an ally to X. Zero does get patched up obvious seeing in the future Mega Man X games.
I got the SNES with Killer Instinct Bundle I want to say in 95-96 as a Birthday gift from my dad and I got two other games, Donkey Kong Country and Megaman X. man...I still played Megaman X until about 2014 when my SNES gave up on me however it was stored in a damp michigan basement for a few years before I pulled it back out, the internet had made me realize this was probably the only game I ever had a chance at Speedrunning (Edit: until all the pros made a video of it of course). I didnt even know about X2 or X3 until I was looking to replace the game but this will always be an absolute classic my mind.

Firing the Boomerang Cutter 3 times against Flame Mammoth can cut down his trunk and against Launch Octopus can cut down his tentacles so he won't be able to use energy drain
i remember playing it on a cinema canvas before with high-end audio configuration. The surround sound was incredible. If you can, play this game with headphones.
Well, you have to die 5 times, and have perfect health when you reach a certain Dr Light capsule in the game (I believe he shows you how to get it). It's a chore to get, and makes most bosses mincemeat in one hit. But you have to have a full lifebar to use it, and you must use the Street Fighter II Hadouken motion in order to use it.
@@Bloodreign1 That's close. You have to make the last health pickup on the cliff in the Armadillo stage *appear* 5 times. You don't need to grab it. You can do the first 4 times early in the game, but on the last time you need _all items_ and have _full health_ . After completing the stage, you could re-enter it, trigger that health pickup to appear, and use the Exit option a few times. It's faster to _die_ instead in that last pit after triggering that health pickup, because you start at the checkpoint late in the stage, instead of at the start of the stage when you Exit and re-enter. The fastest way I know: - 1st time in the Armadillo stage, make the health pickup *appear* then _die_ in that pit, *3 times* - make the health pickup *appear* a 4th time, then beat the Armadillo boss - finish getting the rest of the items: 8 weapons, 8 health upgrades, 4 energy tanks, 4 suit upgrades - enter the Armadillo stage again and just get to the end with full health - the Hadouken upgrade capsule should be there, on the cliff. Need to stock up on *Extra Lives* ? If you wanna beat those end of Sigma Fortress section bosses quicker, you should use... Bospider: Shotgun Ice. Rangda Bangda: Chameleon Sting. D-Rex: Boomerang Cutter. Also, I didn't know this for quite a while. Many say in X2 if you didn't beat all three of the X-Hunters to get those parts of Zero, then you have to fight him before the clash with Sigma, many say his weakness is X-Buster. But the weapon that really works good on him is Speed Burner.
Ok so once you get to the sigma stage, how in the hell are you like one-hit killing the mini bosses like that? Sure as fuck doesnt work for me like that when i play...
This and the 2nd one, are easily the best 2 ever made. Infact, id say that X and X2 are basically 1 game (being they take place 6 mo apart). Grew up with originl MM series and MMX also, and enjoyed the X-series.
What I liked about MMX is finding out which new weapon works best against the next boss...there is always one weapon that significantly damages one boss

I just realized that the model number shown in the intro says CPS, as in Capcom's arcade hardware, CPS1 and CPS2.

I used to play Megaman X, Alladin, DK 1 to 3, Super Mario World, Killer Instinct in the 90's. Those were really good times.
I played the living hell out of this game back when I got it in 1994 and I never knew that the cannon upgrade was in Flame Mammoth’s stage.

To me X and MM2 are the best in the series. MM3 is right there. But I think X and MM2 have(slightly) better boss fights and better music.

Firing the Boomerang Cutter 3 times against Flame Mammoth can cut down his trunk and against Launch Octopus can cut down his tentacles so he won't be able to use energy drain

What is this hadouken super charge? I never seen it in the game
Well, you have to die 5 times, and have perfect health when you reach a certain Dr Light capsule in the game (I believe he shows you how to get it). It's a chore to get, and makes most bosses mincemeat in one hit. But you have to have a full lifebar to use it, and you must use the Street Fighter II Hadouken motion in order to use it.

That's close.
You have to make the last health pickup on the cliff in the Armadillo stage *appear* 5 times. You don't need to grab it. You can do the first 4 times early in the game, but on the last time you need _all items_ and have _full health_ .
After completing the stage, you could re-enter it, trigger that health pickup to appear, and use the Exit option a few times. It's faster to _die_ instead in that last pit after triggering that health pickup, because you start at the checkpoint late in the stage, instead of at the start of the stage when you Exit and re-enter.
The fastest way I know:
- 1st time in the Armadillo stage, make the health pickup *appear* then _die_ in that pit, *3 times*
- make the health pickup *appear* a 4th time, then beat the Armadillo boss
- finish getting the rest of the items: 8 weapons, 8 health upgrades, 4 energy tanks, 4 suit upgrades
- enter the Armadillo stage again and just get to the end with full health
- the Hadouken upgrade capsule should be there, on the cliff.
Need to stock up on *Extra Lives* ?
In the same stage (Armadillo):
- from the start, get to the bottom of the 1st slope
- on the level floor, destroy the 2nd Bat on the ceiling to the right, a *unique* black Mega-Man-2-style Bat
- move back until its perch goes off the screen, and move forward again to *respawn* it
- repeat destroying and respawning the Bat
- it should drop an Extra Life roughly *half* the time

Bospider: Shotgun Ice.
Rangda Bangda: Chameleon Sting.
D-Rex: Boomerang Cutter.
Also, I didn't know this for quite a while. Many say in X2 if you didn't beat all three of the X-Hunters to get those parts of Zero, then you have to fight him before the clash with Sigma, many say his weakness is X-Buster. But the weapon that really works good on him is Speed Burner.
Yeah, I didn't know that till a while later.
And for Sigma, Electric Spark, and second form, Rolling Shield.

From the Ha Dou Ken capsule at 1:00:50... as long as your Heart and Energy tanks are all full, throwing a Ha Dou Ken 1-shots bosses.
Ok so once you get to the sigma stage, how in the hell are you like one-hit killing the mini bosses like that? Sure as fuck doesnt work for me like that when i play...

You can use it as much as you want so long as your life meter is full.
This and the 2nd one, are easily the best 2 ever made. Infact, id say that X and X2 are basically 1 game (being they take place 6 mo apart). Grew up with originl MM series and MMX also, and enjoyed the X-series.

I didn’t really know how to play this as a kid but I still played the CRAP out of the first two levels and started over again every time 😂
What I liked about MMX is finding out which new weapon works best against the next boss...there is always one weapon that significantly damages one boss
