    • @LucyLavend
      @LucyLavend ปีที่แล้ว +14

      omg rear projection would've been so much better. The quality would be worse, but hey who needs high resolution screens when the person on the other side is using a crappy webcam

    • @mikibish
      @mikibish ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@LucyLavend I know right. The quality wouldn't have to suffer that much either considering the tech available, there's projectors that work well in direct sunlight and I reckon a micro OLED projection would easily cover the size with no noticeable loss in quality.

      I'm guessing the whole thing also runs off one of the phones computing power, which could probably be done better with a simple rasberry pi.

      I think it was discussed in a previous LTT vid, but the tighter the radius of a screen, the harder it is to manufacture. @@the_undead If we had curved screen tech that could bend tight enough to replace all of the screens on this with one, and it was financially viable, we would see them everywhere(it'll be a fad at minimum when we reach that point lol).

    imagine that idea but a mini projector, projecting onto the inside surface of a head shape made of thin white fabric or paper. with the right electronic de-warping applied it would look amazing. the dewarping should be spot on too because the 3d map of the inside of the head shape from the point of the projecter would never change.

    I think they should make the next one with a spherical display with just a hole at the top for the cameras to stick out of. Then the person's face can orbit around the display according to who they are talking to. Id encourage them to just work with the existing video calling/conferencing platforms to add support for the device, that way if a user is calling into one, they have controls to be able to shift focus of who they're see on screen.
