Ive been wanting to use texture packs for years because im very limited with the blocks i can use but default is so rewarding, just something about making something so grand with so little is so satisfying.
It's kinda fun ngl
Something to keep in mind, if you use too high of resolution textures you will actually become more limited than if you were just using the default pack.
To paraphrase Pixlriffs, "If you have a build that looks good without shaders, that's how you know you make good builds."
When he said "What is this granite" that really impacted me showing how long he had really been playing with Cubed Pack.
I pretty much only use default textures. It's actually a really great palette when you get used to it, and it leads to some really creative solutions to your problems.
they strike a good balance of looking enough like the thing they're supposed to be that they look good in that role up close while also not looking so much like the thing they're supposed to be that they can't look like anything else from a bit further away
I'm so glad you did this. I build in default textures, so sometimes it's hard to translate real life buildings
for the fake light, if you are on the newer versions, you could use the built-in light blocks
if hes on the server thennits 1.14.4
Alpine not knowing what some blocks are is golden
Dude this is pretty inspiring. It totally makes me want to build cities in Minecraft.
I have some tips for you, there is a /give command that can give you an invisible light block I think the block is literally called light. And also there is a debug stick which allows you to manipulate blocks the way you did with the beds for seats and walls for lights. They are like the command block in that they don't show up in creative menu, only obtainable from /give commands. But you can save them in the hot bars tab in the creative inventory so you don't need to get them from commands and just pull them out from that tab
I’m building a city on Xbox, which makes it so much harder, so it’s very interesting to see you explore the vanilla version of the game.
This could be a fun series, for a change of pace for the channel! Only as long as you're having fun with it, of course. Also that church is really nice.
You mentioned you play survival, too.. Maybe it'd be cool to show off your survival world/worlds, not necessarily a whole series (although that could be cool), but just a tour video?
Oh I’ve only played a touch of survival in the past 10 years, I’m AWFUL at it, maybe I’ll start a world in a while on my second channel
Hi Alpine !
Glad to see this video from you haha. I built for years with texture packs on and re-discovered the default pack and I can't barely go back to custom textures now. At first the vanilla can add some constraints as you don't have all the exact textures you may want. For example if you want some gold details you can put some in a texture pack. With vanilla you will try to use the yellow stuff you can find in your inventory.
But I think this constraint is actually part of the thing and finally adds a lot, seeing what some other people can find to represent some details or some texture is always impressive :) Since the texture are still quite simple and not really detail, I even think it offers more than common texture packs we can use in creative servers. I mean, there is more ways to interpret some textures.
Ofc it's the same for texture packs but here you can quite interpret each block as you want, when some texture pack aren't that much permissive. For example stone, you can user stone (ofc) but also andesite, stonebricks, gray wool, concrete powder and much more. That's what I like with vanilla !
This is really nice. BuildTheEarth NYC were working on the Lower East Side this week, it’s cool to see these side by side
So you can do a LOT with default the second you start using the debut stick. It just takes a lot longer. Also make use of trapdoors to get the details in. But then again me and my friends on bedrock just add in our own blocks
Hey! I live in Brooklyn, NY and head into manhattan decently often! If you ever need some additional photos of locations (if google maps has gaps /view blockages) let me know and I can send some pictures/videos over!
Not to dox myself but thank you for building my block this is very validating
I highly recommend you start considering color and texture gradients if you continue in default!
your buildings are well done, but there's a lack of texture, you could do a gradient or just simple texture. like always good video
Your trees are so bad, I just let the forest burn.
(Fantastic work! :D I love this, and YES more vanilla! :D)
Pov: the village is where the founder of Andea was born, or the village where the nations independence declarer was born
You could transform the spawned village so that it fits into your city, kinda like a small slice of history, an interactive museum, right in the middle of the park.
6:10 bro i love this, its sooo creative
This man just dusts off the default textures to build cities. First Toronto and now New York 🤣
Nice!! I'm pretty interested how you unfold your skills in vanila! Keep it up!
That fire escape is NICE
Its better to use gates
man please stick to default for a while its so refreshing
Alpine1 i don`t know why, but your videos are so calming, especially in winter, they seem to warm me up. Cool builds as usually! But now I want to know the name of the track in the background, it's so nostalgic.
you're trees are lovely, the better leaves really help though.
I'm from the city and I've gotta say you captured the bottom floors insanely well, the block looks great. Also for what it's worth, the trees aren't half bad. Great builds, as always
Trees look great man ❤
Alpine finally builds in a resource pack that doesn't give me a fking migraine 2023
Thoughts on Faithless or Coterie Craft?
I had to Google them both so I don't think I'm justified to give an opinion on them @@cptcorn7707
really love your build with vanilla texture
I love your videos, comfort content if that makes sense
Welcome back to the default texture pack my friend, the good old days of Minecraft, and the area looks really well, your trees do need work, but it's A for effort.
thats a massive undertaking :D
If you want some townhouses to have a more darker brick using a variety of dirt blocks is a great way to do that. Someone taught me that trick awhile ago and now I use it all the time
I like the idea! Love your city btw I see it on instagram sometimes

to have 4 windows with 10 blocks do one block then one window for 2 windows then put a window divider of 2 in the middle then 2 more window (sorry if thats confusing)

I’ve been building with Flows HD texture pack for years then moved to cubed pack. Just recently, I decided to start a map using slightly modified default textures because it’s just more rewarding and forces you to come up with more creative ways to build what you want. Plus there’s just a certain charm the default textures have
1. Your trees don't look that bad... they could be better obviously. But I have seen much much worse ☺
2. Maybe for the road markings you can use (quartz) stairs. Gives a nice(r) thin line. You will see a physical gap though, but I usually find full blocks looking way too thick.
(Idk if you're using debug sticks, but you could also use walls for road markings. Debug them so that only the north and south extensions are visible and remove the top. Only downside is that if you want to run over it, it bumps you up in the air)
Hey I use default trees. Why not?
Polished diorite stairs work better for markings, mostly for the wear effect
This is good using default for those who can't use the other textures.
Yo man I love your work and I'm getting inspired by it but I've got a question:
Could you make a video of indoor Design? So the inside of a skyscraper.
I'm allways struggling while I try doing the inside.
See ya
8:47 you could use the vanilla invisible light blocks
When will their be a video about the airport?
as i default builder, i feel like pepople should use it more, it's so beautiful!
Love it!
me: "those trees are looking great!"
him: "don't look at those trees they look like garbage"
me: -
I love the trees
"And here we have Matt fascinated by default textures dead coral blocks"
-a watch dealer moose, probably
(Nice light posts btw, might steak them 👀)
Steal em
instead of leaving a mean comment, ill leave you with this:
your videos are absolutely amazing, you showcase the real world and implement that into a a block video game, with astounding detail. this may not sound like much on its own, but the impact is what matters. this simple block game and your videos on it have inspired people to seek out real world jobs in the fields you cover, and inspire people like me to give a shot at a building style i dont often attempt to build in. ty for making these videos.
Thanks for the fantastic comment ❤️
and lets keep it that way
To roast your trees ill require a flint and steel
I actually rather this because it gives me inspiration to build
0:45 that was definitely because of me lmaoo
Me when I make trees: "These look so good" When I see Alpine1 calling his trees bad: "I'm terrible at making trees"
have you seen the AD nyc tour videos? could be useful in providing some historical context
I've been not using default maybe more than 3 years now. Well its only because if you build some place, tower, building, park or whatever with using CubedPack and then you go default. The build is going to look very bizarre with all that nonsense colored blocks used. I'm using CubedPack for my city for 3 years and i haven't even checked it with defauld once, and believe me i don't wanna :D
the trees look alright
Thanks. Informative considering, I didn`t find good texture packs for 1.20.1. I think if I continue my city, I will use Chisel N` bits too though.
Please help, what's the command for changing the wall state! Also, love the vid Alpine, it's great.
lets write this day to calendar to show grandchildren
Can we get a video on making suburbs and modern home neighborhoods???
your trees are not garbage there still beutiful and realistic even without the texture pack its still beutiful and realistic so dont say that your trees are garbage cause you just worked hard on that
ey yo my friend lives near the red townhome! It is weird to see in minecraft
Tell them to let me onto their rooftop
@@Alpine1use google earth
is that jerm's leaf pack? it's really nice! if you want to get rid of the flowers delete the cmt folder, or get rid of the files that are for plains oak leaves :)
I have no idea, I’ve had it for a while sitting in my folder
Always love your videos. 👌🗿
If I used a texture pack for a long time and suddenly switched my builds would not look that good so good job
Wow , your builds are really impressive,, are you an architect?
Before it was my ambition to become an architect too , but due to some issues i left the dream ,,
Still I'd love to learn how you design such awesome houses!
By the way thanks for the inspiration ☺️
I always build in default!
I like to use default textures so anyone who joins sees the same thing no matter what without needing to install anything extra. Using packs just feels like cheating to me idk it's just less rewarding.
What shaders do you use?
To my standards the trees look fine.
Honestly, the trees aren't that bad, I think that they look like NYC trees. Did you use default saplings ?
How are you making these road lanes?
🔥🌳🔥
👍👍
You make trees sometimes you know that?? That is a Tree!!!!
lets boost the algorithm - what a bad tree
When will your next upload come
finally
I wish i was this good at building but unfortunately i will probably never be.

Alpine 1, dont forget please to upgrade the version of your pack 🙏🙏 like for 1.19 and 1.20, because we can't conect the windows texture 😭😭 its too bad for a beautiful pack !
You asked for it… those trees look like the nature equivalent to a participation award. 😅 jk love you alpine
where did your tree video go. I prefer ur trees anyway
10:48 West Village???
yo what happened to the Patreon?
Are you mad? You should see my crappy trees 😂
Anyone on console down to start a city??
Trees are nice, what are you talking about?
uhhhh, bad trees, or something i don't know, i'm bad at building
Is it in your future plans to build a zoo?
There's nothing wrong with the trees mate..
..maybe except for the stem.
Why is growing out of the sidewalk lmao
The trees seem nice? Idk man
the trees look bad :)
Sad
Trees? More like trash... gotem
