I remember this broadcast. I was still asleep in bed when the radio turned on. I heard Jason saying that they have "Utada" in their studio. At first I thought, "Utada? No, it can't be. Must be someone else." Then he said her full name "Utada Hikaru" and I jumped up straight out of bed. I had to wake my sister up for the broadcast as well. It was so exciting to hear her on 107.9
Rofl, I love how honest she is, but I can imagine a couple people getting offended over her opinion. I love how bluntly she says it though. And she looks so cute here!
I don't like those interviewers though. They barely give her time to answer her questions and that one guy was completely wrong about Kingdom Hearts. The game was widely popular and accepted in America along with Utada's song "Simple and Clean"
omg i remember this broadcast. I was in bed when she did the interview with 107.9 and thought I was dreaming. Then I checked online and found out it wasn't a dream afterall. lol
woah woah woah.. (chotto mattaaaa!!) Are we all forgotten Sakamoto Kyu.. (Teme-ra sakamoto kyu wasure ten jya ne-darouna??) Ue wo mu te aru kou- sukiyaki??????
She has like... no idea! I bet a ton of fans were originally hooked by the PlanitB remix of Simple and Clean like I was. Her Japanese stuff even sells in USA and Canada via iTunes and imports
Its really such a shame after all these years shes still never played KH.... because that game was INSTRUMENTAL to what little success she has in America and Id say 90% of all her American fans are friends because of that game. I personally want her to make a video of her playing it for the first time I think that would be really amazing... I still love her the same but I'm kinda disappointed
This is the One is a lame album. It doesn't even compare to her Japanese albums, especially HEART STATION and ULTRA BLUE. It's too obvious that she was (admittedly) trying to break into American music. She should've just made another great album instead of trying to sound like everything that is popular in America!!

awwwwwwwww so cute!
That is why their program was called the wake up call.
Her voice is extremely lovely whether she is singing or talking.
She looks amazing here, wow.
she has such a relaxing voice
Oh my God...I'm in love

"All I know is that if you beat the game my song plays at the end." Had me cracking up. I would play any video game if I heard her songs at the end.
Oh yeah, me too.
Watching in 2022 after BAD MODE is out !! Come back to tour in America 😭😭
really appreciate u putting this up !!!!!
i hear this radio always im gonna go there and blast them too
Utada forever
i have loved her ever since BEFORE kingdom hearts! ... i bought KH because of Utada.
Oh snap!!! She sang Automatic!!! Ah man. I'm geekin out right now lol
i love her
Little do people know, she is from NY💝but also lived in Japan too. Which is very good💝. Always will be a fan of Hikki💝💝💝
OMG, I can't believe she was in Sacramento and I missed this broadcast >.

ooo yess now can WATCH!
Haha I love her and kingdom hearts I've beaten the game like 100 times and I still love it. Can't wait until the other one comes out
very sweet woman
I don't like those interviewers though. They barely give her time to answer her questions and that one guy was completely wrong about Kingdom Hearts. The game was widely popular and accepted in America along with Utada's song "Simple and Clean"
I agree with you and her. It is so sad but true. She did a song with Ne-Yo called "Do You"
she should probably give more gratitude to kh, its probably her main source of american fans.
ROFL. "GEEKIN' OUT". THAT'S SUCH A GOOD ONE. That just perfectly explains the way I'VE been as of late since Utada came back to the States! XD
she was born in new york city
OMG SHE SAID KINGDOM HEARTS
OMG I MISSEDDD ITTT . UGHHHHHHHHH I CANT BELIEVE THIS AND I LIVE IN SACRAMENTO . and no she wasn't a new artist if you've played kindom hearts -____-
that album's Deep River..
her best work ever.. i think.. =)
The way she roasted the Americans. I like this women 😂
sweet!! she sang automatic!! haha
Me too!
*dies* I can't believe she's never played the game she did the theme song for! xD
And in 2020,she still has not.
Anyone else notice how much of an introvert she is?
Nope, I didn't notice any introvert behavior. Could you explain it, please?
@@eddielockhart2072 she doesn't like to talk a lot. She's always like awkward. She's changed over the years though
omg i remember this broadcast. I was in bed when she did the interview with 107.9 and thought I was dreaming. Then I checked online and found out it wasn't a dream afterall. lol
basically. I'm just glad I wasn't in the room with anyone when I said "IT'S AUTOMATIC!!!!" really loud while watching this at that moment.
Hahaha, Funny! Utada is awesome!! =D
it's pretty common for artists not to be directly involved in the games/television shows their work is liscenced for.
god they wont give her a chance to answer the question they ask, its like one after another
oh btw she's so beautiful i love her!!
+they forgot sanctuary and simple and clean both play in the beginning of kh 2 and 1 -_-
It's true about America....sad but so true! :(
3:41「日本語だったら…」so fucki'n cute!!!
@Alyzabeth90 She's Japanese-American so it's understandable that her English is good :p
woah woah woah.. (chotto mattaaaa!!) Are we all forgotten Sakamoto Kyu.. (Teme-ra sakamoto kyu wasure ten jya ne-darouna??) Ue wo mu te aru kou- sukiyaki??????
Where it's the first part?
She talks as if she's NOT American but she lived there until she was 18.. she's American.
holy crap XD I agree but she should think next time she says stuff XDD
EEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!! UTADA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
she never played kingdom hearts :o
She has like... no idea! I bet a ton of fans were originally hooked by the PlanitB remix of Simple and Clean like I was.
Her Japanese stuff even sells in USA and Canada via iTunes and imports
so.. where's the part 1 of 3? thank you

Yes, it might be a shame. But she plays video games at least. I mean, she's not like the rest which are ashamed of being related to games at all.
her tounge seems like a bit short right? which caused her pronunication
i like american radio more than our german radio^^
What song was she singing in Japanese?
Utada is probably the only woman I'd marry but she'd never marry an 18 year old, let me dream! XD
But she got married when she was 19, so you might still have a chance.
@@eddielockhart2072 She a mom now, chief. I'm still a nobody, I had no chance. 7 years ago. Damn, where does time go XD
I know. I love Hikki too, is my new obsession ever since I played the first Kingdom Hearts a couple of years ago.
@@Spitfire_94 you’re 26 damn..
@@ShadowDarkHeart90 Yessir 😂
She's so normal when she's in the US. In Japan she's seen as this crazy diva, but in US interviews she always seems so down to earth.
Me too man. Same with me lol
how come can this guy say she is brand new in front of her,an artist?
I cannot understand american style kinnda crazy
she was in my town what
its automatic
she's american
I feel ashamed. America is kinda like that, isn't it?
@J05HSH1NG I take offense! Kingdom Hearts is No. 1!
朕對我爸不了解不認識不知道妳就不同了
