Debarge is absolute fire!! El Debarge had a dynamic mentor, his brother Bobby Debarge of Switch. The entire Debarge family can sing. Debarge music lives forever.
Another one. This family was so talentos despite what they went through. All of them were molested by thier father and still managed to be star. Much love to the Debarge family.
The whole DeBarge family is talented. Check out El De Barge , Chico De Barge. Bobby DeBarge “RIP”of the R&B Group Switch all had individual bangers back in the day. One of the most underrated musical families in R&B
Extremely unappreciated group was DeBarge. Even their B-Side songs on albums were fire. Unfortunately, like many groups from 70's and early 80's drugs and internal conflict broke them up really early and they only had, I believe 4 albums as a full group. Tragic backstory for them as a family too, if you ever get the time and want to find out more about them.
@@LG-kx8xl wow, that's good to hear. I was hoping El could keep it together but I heard he was struggling back and forth with his addiction. Haven't heard much about Chico and the others. Glad to hear Bunny is good though.
Ok they were as hot as Michael Jackson when they were archer peak. They're note unappreciated. Y'all are young or something. We loved them. Sadly, drugs ruined them. Their brothers had a group called Switch in the 70s.
The guy that created this famous rift from this family is called El DeBarge. He released one of the best R&B joints ever just a few years ago called Close To You. I also recommend from him another classic banger called Somebody Loves You and if you want to go deep into his other great iconic songs eerrrbody knows peep the songs called I like It and the other great song called All This Love. He wrote the music, lyrics and arrangements for all the songs he and his brothers sing.
Yes sir!!! Their harmonies and falsettos are everythang!!! Try the other hits “I Like It” “ Love Me In A Special Way” “All This Love” “ Time Will Reveal”. You are gonna find many hip hop songs sampled numerous songs from R & B, Jazz, Disco, House…..you name it lol
Yes! I love how they start low, then go crazy and then go back down to the original beat towards the end. I recommend "I Like It", nice two step and borrowed as well. "Time Will Reveal" and "All This Love" 👌
This beat was sampled First in Biggie Smalls "One More Chance" and then again later on in Ashanti's song "Foolish." You can gotta check out "I like It" and "All this Love" by DeBarge as well two of my all time favorites!
They were huge & underrated. I remember their McDonald's commercial. Bunny is the oldest of all of them. El is Amazing! He just turned 60. That's him singing & playing on this song, he also wrote it. This song has been sampled a lot. **a 3rd song: All This love (written by El too).
Yep Biggie and Ashanti sampled this one. This group is the younger siblings of the lead singer and bass player of Switch. El Debarge is still performing this song today. His voice is still flawless. Very talented family.
Love this group!! Must react to "I Like It", and smoke a fat blunt to that song first in the morning. This song you just did is a good song but "I Like It", you'll love it!!! The instruments are crazy and El Debarge does some crazy falsettos
You made me wanna hug you just now! You looked like you were really enjoying yourself. DEBARGE "I LIKE IT" and "ALL THIS LOVE"! put then on the map in the early 80's!!!
I loved this group just as much as the Jackson Five. We had so many talented groups Satori My G in my day. No wonder we stayed so fit. Thanks for loving our music as much as we loved it.
They produced & played the instruments on all the tracks. El DeBarge (in the middle) sang lead and played the piano on this song & “A Dream”. Next song should be “All this Love” or “I Like It” or “In A Special Way”
Love me in a special way and All this Love should be next. El had his own career. Look for his version of "After the Dance" with the jazz group Foreplay. Note that this is the family of the brothers from Switch.
"Such an incredible group"!!! As you can see, their music has reached many genres of sampling, but they have stood since the 80's, magical music!!!🎙🎵🎼🎹❤❤❤❤🎙
Cuzin!!!!! As soon as you started rockin this I was like, yo yo yo yo yoooo!!!! I literally had just finished listening to this song on TH-cam. This is my jam!!!! 🍇🍇🍇 2 for 2? ‘Love Me In a Special Way’ or ‘All This Love’ this is just off the top of my head, you’ll be at 4 for 4! El wasn’t playing! I love your reactions. They’re so genuine and pure. I can tell you know good music! 🥰❤️

I did recommend it and I had a similar reaction when I first heard it too. Some other samples are Foolish/Unfoolish by Ashanti, and Neyo samples the "stay with me" part in the chorus of his song "Stay". Ledgenary song.
@@OLatreil Oh yeah, that's right 🤔 I remember Ashanti's sampled version too!.... She had Terrence Howard in the music video 😍 I don't think I heard Ne-yo sampled version..... Will have to check that one out. Thanks!... @Hey Miss Jackson 💜
Since you’re luvin’ their music, I’d like to suggest the following… All This Love Love Me In A Special Way And oh!... I think you’d luv some solo El Debarge as well… After The Dance (Beautiful cover version of Marvin Gaye’s song.) Love Always Second Chance (An inspiring song about redemption and conquering dire obstacles. It was El’s comeback song after a 16 year absence from music. He battled drug addiction. Unfortunately, I think his recovery was short-lived.)
Of all the reactions from different ppl I've not heard a reaction from this most underrated artist from the late 80's: Basia @ (the entire Time & Tide LP was sheer genius)! "New Day For You"
This is definitely an 80's moment for me. The very first time I heard their voices ...I knew I would be a fan. Their brothers were part of switch which opened the door. The very first song I fell in love from them was a song called " What's your name"...it was history from that point on from their album called the Debarges. Another song was called "Queen of my heart"...

"All This Love" or "Love Me In a Special Way" are Debarge classics as well
YEP this was sampled for Biggies One more Chance " & Ashante's "Foolish". I requested this also .. Debarge was a bad ass group back in the 80's .😏
