I think everyone understands that block ice lasts much longer than cube ice. So it's no surprise When you have block ice added to your ice cubes, you get better performance and longer ice retention. The real question is, does yeti ice in its block form perform any better than frozen water in its block form of the same equal size? That remains unknown
I finally bought one a few months ago and had no sweating with mine and it was exposed to Texas 100 degree June weather. It floated in the pool and did a great job. It's a winner.

Yes, but only at very high temps for prolonged period of times. If it's mild (80 degrees or so) it's not bad.
