    TRANSCRIPT (Partial)
    ------------
Ensar: So what I'm doing here is carving a little bit of this resin from this piece of Borneo Kinam and I'm going to let you smell it. And I want to see how you compare that to two things, one, the Vietnamese Kinam that we burnt before, I should say we heated before and how do you compare this to the oil that's on your hand.
Ehab: (Holding another piece of agarwood in his hand) Is this the same as that?
Ensar: No, this is from a different region. That is pure Malinau. I mean the White Kinam that's on the skin, that's pure Malinau. That's the most legendary region in Borneo-full stop. It's one of the highest ranks of oud that you can get is Malinau. It's like the legends of Koh Kong, Manipur, Malinau. These are the most prized regions for agarwood in their respective territories. From Borneo, Malinau is like the Holy Grail.
Ehab: I was in Borneo one time.
    Ensar: Really!?
Ehab: Yes, I did a Chi Kung session there.
Ensar: Did you go looking for any trees?
Ehab: Actually, there wasn't much time to go looking for trees. I'm sure they were around me somewhere, though.
Ensar: What do you think of that?
Ehab: Now, the one we did in the previous session was the ……
    Ensar: Vietnamese.
Ehab: Vietnamese. And this one is the Borneo.
Ensar: Yep……. You see this resin's so hard I can't even shave any off with this scalpel. There's this one black portion here except you can't carve anything out. (Ensar empties a little resin into the incense burner) Just try that.
Ehab: Feels like I'm walking through a rain forest.
    Ensar: Yeah.
Ehab: That's what it feels like.
Ensar: It comes from a rain forest.
    Ehab: The Borneo rain forest.
    Ensar: Yeah.
Ehab: Maybe that's why it smells like that. But it does smell like a rain forest….like you know the moss that you smell when you're walking through.
Ensar: Like how would you grade the psyco-activity factor on this one?
Ehab: To tell you the truth, I'm still affected by the oud you put on me a few minutes ago.
Ensar: I mean I'm going to have to apologize to you and our viewers. I'm just gone right now. I can't, I can't….you need me to say anything?

Amazing to hear like-minded admirers of Oud - as just today, still in the process of making a complex perfume (that included among others two typed of slightly flawed Oud oils), I came upon realisation that Oud exerts its mesmerizing effect on our brain not just by the molecules we smell in its scent, but the molecules we don't! - it's like a magic trick - the true machinery of the show is invisible, hidden under stage - we experience the effect without registering a clear smell of it, only a part that it (the Oud) let us to see. And the better the Oud, the more difficult is to analize its unique note in its scent, as the more of the effect is 'para-olfactory' - a magic behind the obvious gorgeous and complex smell of Agar... I guess for understanding and describing the scent of Oud properly, one must be not just competent and educated (aromatic chemistry including), but a man of Art, a poet :)

Sheikh Ehab and Sidi Ensar. I'm so glad that these excellent conversations and teaching were not once-off. May Allah preserve you both and give you the best of this world and the next. Sidi Ensar, I bought Oud Yusuf and Aroha Kyaku on Friday last week. I'll be receiving tomorrow inshaAllah. I was eyeing Santal Royale with fear that it will vanish and it did.

@@EnsarOud SubhanAllah. Wow. I've just smelled these ouds. I'm dumbstruck. To me, the opening of Aroha Kyaku smells like birch tar, Cambodian oud and clay characteristic of Cambodian oud as well as earth. Oud Yusuf smells like over ripe fruit with a hint of sweetness and a hint of freshness. The best way I can describe Oud Extraordinaire (my favourite) is 'oriental'; slightly sweet and slightly ripe fruit. These are my first impressions. They need to be studied. I only applied the tiniest dab but they are projecting so well. Having the most sublime raw materials is one thing and bringing out the ultimate best in them is another: you're a maestro sidi Ensar, mashaAllah. Beautiful end of video, Tabat-il hadrah.

It would be great to have a weekly or bi weekly or at least monthly video of virtual wearing an oud of yours per episode. 20 min long I would say is perfect. Go thru the opening, progression and how it touches you the imagery that come forth the mental state. Then between progressions tell us stories of expeditions, distillations gone wrong, specifics you care to share about the given oil we are all virtual wearing with you. I have more ideas I will email you.

Thank you sooo much, Ensar for sharing such deep knowledge. I believe that you are a unique teacher because you have studied the complete alchemical process of creating perfume from the roots of the plant to the final magic elixir enclosed in a bottle. It is wonderful to watch and hear the description of the aromas, but direct contact gives an absolutely full effect of knowing the heart of the aroma and much is not at the level of words ... Therefore, I would like to ask you if you are going to conduct a full-time course for people interested in this thema. For example in UAE ore Europe.Just think about it.
