Holland America Noordam Neptune Suite 6084 Review

Holland America's Neptune Suites are premium and first class in every respect. We usually don't step above Junior Suites on Royal Caribbean or Sky Suites on Celebrity, but a Neptune Suite on Holland America puts both of those cabins to shame. This is cabin 6084, and except for positioning on the ship, this cabin is similar to all other Neptune Suite cabins on Noordam and other similar cabins on the same class of ship across the Holland America fleet. The letter designations for Neptune Suites generally go like this...SA puts you on the same deck and close proximity to the Neptune Lounge, where morning finger foods and good coffee is complimentary, along with your concierge. The SB cabins, like our SB6084 cabin, is a Neptune Suite on a different deck from the 7th deck Neptune Lounge, although still rather close. The SC is an aft cabin for those that enjoy sailing in the rear. It comes with the cost of some distance to the stairs and elevators, but the views can easily compensate for that. Be warned, though, that rough seas can make the aft and bow cabins a bit tough on some folks. I've not seen the corner SC cabins, but they appear to be laid out differently on the plans. Love Holland America, they have always taken good care of me and mine. I am so spoiled, have only booked Neptune Suites because I so appreciate the Neptune Lounge and the outstanding Concierge service offered. These wonderful staff have such extensive knowledge about the ship and ports and disembarking at end of the cruise. I have cruised with Holland America since 1992 and again think they are the best. Suite is huge compared to others and the balcony is lovely, especially in Alaska. Know it is expensive, but for a once in a life time experience why not? Have cruised on the Noordam three or four time to Alaska. and think this is the right size ship for me smaller, less people and beautiful appointments. Happy sailing.

We stayed in the Neptune suite on the Eurodam for Alaska cruise in Sept 2022. We loved it and now we can’t look back. Neptune suites on all future cruises. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Jim. It certainly was. And at that price, it should be. We cruise once a year as an educational trip for Michelle and her company picks up a large chunk of the expense. That's how we were able to shell out the money for this one. I was so happy we had relatively good weather because our last trip to the 49th state was a miserable weather experience. I'm going to do a complete review in the near future, but I'll give you some highlights here...The Noordam had the best entertainment we've ever seen on a ship. The band was so tight and professional it would rival national acts. The shows were incredible as well. The ship was beautiful and very clean. I have two complaints, though, and one is a deal breaker. The first is just something I care about. I don't understand why they wait until 9am to open the hot tubs. The pool is already open. The pool is heated and that's nice, but I'm a huge hot tub guy and often work out the kinks with a soak in the morning. More than once I was joined by someone in the pool asking the same question. The second complaint is a deal breaker for me and Michelle. The food was, in a word, awful. It wasn't just that it should have been better because of HAL reputation, it was simply sub-Carnival reputation. I know a few spots on Carnival I'd much rather dined at...Guy's restaurants, for example. I don't think they understand flavor in a steak. I had the filet twice and thought I was eating shoe leather. I'm just hoping it was a single ship experience. Anyway, other than that, the experience was great and we had a great time.

My you sure had a lot of storage space! You probably could have unpacked a POD's container in your driveway and took it to that suite had you wanted to do that. I don't have a company to foot part of the bill so I doubt I'll ever see the inside of one of those but thanks for showing us.

We were just assigned 6093 which is on the opposite side of the ship. Can you provide some insights on the glass elevator being next to the room? Noise level? Ability to see onto the balcony? Lights from the elevator at night disturbing you when sitting on the balcony? Any additional information would be helpful. Thank you.

Sorry I can't help as to the elevator, but I can attest we didn't hear any noise.

Honestly, these packages are not worth it. My wife and I had booked a corner aft Neptune suite and it was just under $7K for us 7 days. Now, we book yacht club packages with MSC instead and the experience is a million times better with MSC. Yes, the corner balcony is amazing on Holland but having the 24/7 butler service on MSC, makes for a much more luxurious experience. Also, the MSC yacht club package includes all of your liquor consumption. It’s a true inclusive package. You can book the yacht club for $5K for 7 day Caribbean, 2 people.

I remember the Neptune Lounge with free snacks and beverages. My wife was in a conference and that gave us a free drink package, but I don't think that's included in the Neptune Suite. Of course, all of this could change based on your sailing. All I can say is we absolutely loved the extra space and huge balcony. Holland America's attention to detail was nice.
