Sol-Aire CX4 is one of my favorite castings. Notoriously fast out on the track & not to be taken lightly either. One of the weapons that I have in my arsenal.
The 'Cuda was a promotional that came in a window box package from Toy Car Magazine. I think the purchase price was around $20-$25 US. I think I have a couple in my collection but not the 'Cuda. I believe the magazine is now defunct and has been for many years. Zarnock's guides should have it listed.
The number #2 on the base was Hot Wheels' original idea they tried at numbering the Blue Card series to label the car with its collector number and so you know what car came from where. Kind of like baseball cards. It didn't work out or made things too complicated, eventually they did away with it. It didn't last long. Also I am not sure if I am remembering things right, but the Hot Wheels flame logo on the car windows, back or front, signified that it was part of a 5-Pack. You'd have to look more into that. Also never change or "fix" any aspects of an error car. It is a rare occurrence and people pay big bucks for a lot of unique errors. Vintage errors are especially rare because Mattel had strict QC back then - today they allow the errors to go through because they know there is a collector market for them. I've got a lot of error cars where there was air bubbles in the mold and there's whole chunks of the car missing, it looks like a mad max type car. haha
Great to see you in front of the camera, and awesome to see your collection and the descriptions you give. Look forward to a video from you even once a week is great, especially rolled out on the weekend when there is some time to watch your content.
With a channel like yours and a collection like yours my friend always get a thumbs up. Thank you for sharing all those wonderful Hot Wheels my friend I appreciate it.
Hey bud, it's your collecting buddy from MAINE! Really happy to see you making VIDEOS 👍👌💪😊😁 again, especially lately with your weekly videos! Thanks and keep up the great work, I appreciate what you do my friend! Love the Camaros and all the blue card diecast in your collection, thanks for sharing with us! Learning allot from you!
11:42 I used to be a self-employed unofficial janitor on the Hot Wheels wiki cleaning up articles and stuff from 2012-2014 as I found things wrong as I was tagging my own collection - until one of the admins banned me from doing that and undid every change I made to every article in 2015. He didn't like that I knew more about the English language than he did (he wasnt even from the USA) so he kept saying every change I made was not correct and was bad grammar. He also had many troubles before with other admins on that site for banning people for no reason so IDK if he is gone now - but yeah, a lot of that Hot Wheels wiki is so broken and messed up because the admins change things to suit their ideas and egos it's not even funny.
Time for a new website by the sounds of it! Clearly your grammar is perfectly fine, so that is unfortunate that there was a moderator limiting terrific knowledge such as yours. Thank you for all of your contributions! :)
I just picked a toy car lot and it included a Park N Plates Sol[Aire with black windows and silver ultra hot wheels, but it differs from yours in that it has the closed rear spoiler. It's so clean that it looks like it was pulled out of the blister today.
Awesome! I love the Sol-Aire CX4 =) I don't recall knowing about the open/closed spoilers or maybe, I just forgot. I don't need every variation but I would love to have a sample of each color. The Ultra Hot wheels look fantastic on it! As for the '67 Camaro 'painted engines', to each their own =P
The yellow sol-aire with the open spoiler was a Canadian release with the plate saying fast Gt, I have not seen it with blue windows, the closed spoiler version was a u.s. release the plate said sol aire, ani it came with both black and blue windows
No problem, I’m currently trying for all the variations on the sol-aire casting, and your video showed me a couple I was unaware of, so thank you for your videos, quite informative!!!!
Can you do videos with vintage matchbox playsets if you have some or some more mistry unboxing from your shelf. Or tomica vintage if you have them keep up the work don't stop collecting.also love the diorama a smaller version would look good in my m8s house as he collects matchbox lesney dinky corgie and all the other old vintage brands
On your CX4 your base variations some say Hot Wheels, some have a Hot Wheels logo. not just a raised Malaysia base. I have a ton of these as well that is part of the variation that I look for.
At 12:13 in the video, the one base is missing the name of the car and the Hot Wheels logo is different between them. Didn't appear that you caught this although you mention that the subtle base variations don't interest you. I agree, just pointing out what I noticed ;)
Thank you, very much appreciated! It's sometimes hard for me to catch all the variations in real time, so your comments are always helpful after the video! :)
Really love these variation videos!! Also I never thought much about it until you mentioned it on the one sol air, but are gold ultra hits rare? I have a pair of Ferrari f40 originals from about 1990 and one has gold UH wheels and one doesn’t. How much rarer are these gold UH cars?
I have the solaire cx4 like the yellow ones but mine is red same graphics same wheels yellow windows no see thru but havent open it cause is an error blue card and is says mustang mach 1

@@wtffor I've just recently purchased the smokey and the bandit cars... Bandits '77 trans am and Buffords '77 Pontiac... Greenlight are hard to get hold of here in the UK. I also have the tough job of deciding if I'm going to open them or not!!
Perhaps HW should update/improve the 67 Camaro casting. Why? It has no visible doors (or doorhandle). I think it´s a little cheap to "forget" those details. (Mainline) HW are cheap but anyway... :p
Sol-Aire CX4 is one of my favorite castings. Notoriously fast out on the track & not to be taken lightly either. One of the weapons that I have in my arsenal.
You are not kidding! It won EVERYONE of my races. I used to try to find every model of it.
Always have 1 or 2 in a tournament. You won't always make it as KOTH but at least you can make it to the semi finals.
The 'Cuda was a promotional that came in a window box package from Toy Car Magazine. I think the purchase price was around $20-$25 US. I think I have a couple in my collection but not the 'Cuda. Very entertaining video, those 2 Green Firebirds were Pillow pack cars from a couple years ago. The Mob bod camero one of my favorite in tampo work.
Thank you for your information on the Firebirds, I was at a loss as to where those cars came from
Super cool ces top😊

I like that shirt and those models. The Sol-Aire is one of my favorite non-licensed models they did during the 1980s-1990s. 🎼👍✌️💯
Great stuff. Good luck on your search for the cars you are missing!

The Sol-Aire Cx4 is the best and my most favorite car. I wish they still made these.
Nice collection , thanks for sharing :)
Very nice haul! Even converting to Canadian dollars, you didn't spend a lot! I love the CX -4 with the black windows, very sinister looking! :)
I thought that I alone had this disease))) ... I buy ten identical models too ...)))
9:20 it has the 2 on the base because that is the car's collector number, some have it
Wow, that makes perfect sense! Thank you!!

Love it, love it, love it!!! Keep up the great work brother! Cheers from the mighty Mojave Desert 👍😎!!
Great to see all variations. I remember playing with my girlfriend’s brother and his Solaire was the fastest car he had.

Did you find the red Sol-Aire with the purple stripe? I have one...

Generally, GUH wheel variations are among the rarest as they were limited in production to 1990 and 1991 among a select few castings by Hot Wheels
