The part number for the filter assembly I used was: 1704-8tg-0000 "BRACKET KIT, FUEL" (the video instead states the part number on the packaging of that part, which was labelled DENSO). The other part number was for the fuel line release clip, I did not mention it in the video but you have to add this clip to the new assembly - its the part I point to at 2:37 - honda often recommends using a new clip when doing the fuel filter. These part numbers might be different for your specific Honda Jazz/Fit - these part numbers were determined by my local Honda dealer after I supplied them with my VIN number.
Thanks for this video.* BIG TIP * When putting the unit back into the car, put the big black rubber seal into the hole first, and then push the unit into the tank, and screw down the retaining ring. This took me 1 minute to do. If you put the seal on the unit, and then try to push it into the hole, the springs on the unit push back and the rubber seal catches. I could not get the ring to screw on this way.Hope this helps. Thanks
Thank you bro! I just replaced my Honda Fit 2007 fuel pump today thanks to your video. Pump seems to be working fine, but the plastic 4 line electric harness that goes to the pump had one terminal burned, that caused bad contact, and melted the plastic. I installed a new pump, and tested, works fine. I am just waiting for the plastic connector harness to finish the work. Again, thank you for a great video.
To other Honda Fit drivers... the filter is NOT like other gas filters you have seen. The unique under-passenger-seat location of the tank complicated the situation. You as the Fit/Jazz owner NEED to make sure you fill your tank at GOOD newer gas stations with NEWER tanks and filters on the pump. There IS NO paper filter to replace. So DONT let your tank run dry...ever! When that light goes on, refill in less than 20 miles! If you KNOW you ALWAYS have put good gas in...you DONT need to change or clean the screen (filter). Confirm this with a Honda dealer mechanic if you dont believe me.
I just replaced my fuel pump assembly on a honda fit 2013 with the Delphi kit and sure enough the big white threaded ring that came with the Delphi had more threads per inch... Had to use the original piece.
I replaced the pump with a Rockauto Spectra Premium because it was cutting out on me when the fuel was low, the new pump has a lot stronger springs pushing the pump up, I had to have my wife help me pushing down while I screwed down the big white nut with both hands, make sure you line up the arrow towards the rear so you get the threads started properly.
how many rotation you take to make lock ring tight enough/close properly ?? I just take 1 and half rotation only because it is so difficult to rotate the lock ring .. and im afraid if I overtight the lock ring
Where in the assembly is the check valve? my Fit is hard to start when it hasn't been driven for a few days which leads me to believe the system is loosing pressure. (new battery)

Brother my honda city 2007 pic power is soo poor i recently changed all the power plugs but pic power is sill poor one mechanic saying that fuel pump is weak so it's true? Will pic power increase after replacing fuel pump?
Yes, think about it. The car needs more fuel to go faster. If the pump is weak, it cannot supply the fuel needed. Could be also the fuel filter also of it is dirty.
Hello, my 2007 Honda fit, it was very very rough in accelerating so I replaced fuel strainer(filter)only. Every part assembled it back correctly, but the engine turned out not start. I also had tried relpaced the old strainer back it unable to start either. I Ran out of ideas. Oh...could that be the problem caused the fuel pressure prevents not start? I disconnected all 4 connections concluding the electrical at same time, but did not start engine allow the pressure to be gone. If the pressure is causing not start how can it be fix? Please help. Many thanks
Make sure all of the O rings are on correctly and everything is clipped together correctly. When I change the fuel filter the first time I did not put an o-ring correct and fully clip a part on - this then made no fuel pressure in the fuel lines. I pulled it out and fixed it and then it was fine. First thing I would do is check if you can hear the fuel pump priming when you turn the key.
Your problem is most likely not remembering to put the medium sized o ring back on the end of the fuel pump before refitting. When you remove the pump from the filter it leaves the old o ring behind in the casing. You need to fish it out of the hole and stick the new replacement one on the end of the pump. Make sure you get a firm snick when re-engaging. . If you dont do this you will have insufficient fuel pressure and the car won’t start. I learned this the hard way :-/
yep, I was going to do this as a preventative measure... its not supposed to be done as routine maintenance... it took an honest mechanic to explain that to me. And MANY mechanics dont know thats the case.
@@tonytrilex2555 the filter is a screen... its crazy. That gas tank is under the passenger seat and they didnt put a replaceable filter between the tank and pump. Technically, the filter is supposed to last the life of the vehicle. There is NO scheduled replacement interval for the fuel filter. This should be done as a repair, NOT a prevention.
@@danielgriffith8911 Odd, as my almost exactly 10 year old Jazz just told me to replace it - although its such low mileage (45k miles), not sure I can be bothered given its looks like a right PITA.
@@JamesHughes65 there is no paper filter to replace...take it apart and you will likely find nothing is being caught by the screen...its mesh is too big.
This is kind of a confusing video. You are not replacing the fuel filter as much as rebuilding the fuel pump. This is NOT scheduled maintenance...this is a repair video.
Wrong. The fuel pump is the metal electrical device. The filter connects to the pump. This video shows how to replace the filter. It is an intank filter. I think the work shop manual says should be replaced every 8 years or so
@@DxsPro it really depends on the gas quality of your region. If you always fuel at newer gas stations, the fuel filters on the pumps will clean the gas enough so that you never need to change the screen. If you live in rural areas and fill your tank with questionable fuel, you might have issues.

Pro-tip, to remove lock ring just hit it until it moves 1 cm and then spray WD40 into the gap and it will wind off easy with a special tool (hands)

I have the same issue. The new lid won't fit 😂 but the old one does. So I did the same as you did. I reinstalled the old lid back on.

Great video! But, dear lord, I'm not doing this to replace a fuel filter. :-)
Do we really need to replace the entire assembly or just the filter part?
Why do the filter change was it having issues or just preventative ?
cheers 👍👍
preventative

do you need to replace the strainer attached to the bottom of the actual pump? a small packet.
I wonder if adding a real filter would be a good idea?
