      Dan Hurd is a bit of a turd for not sending you the correct tube for your snuffer bottle.He is more into the big bucks now,and not a small time prospector.

    next time you go... those riverbanks with bedrock at the bottom, and gravel and clay on top... get into the gravel layer on those. Forget the river, thats been picked over to death. Gravel layer on bedrock up where the floods left it ages ago. Try that.

    @ericprater4017 ปีที่แล้ว

    Inside of a curve or a stream is where it should settle! Dan Hurd works so hard for so little, so does MBMMLC., never give up! Keep on panning! You and Dan Hurd would be a great video combination! Not too mention Andy Thrax! Great technique for a newbie! Next you'll be traipsing down some hard rock mine with dynamite in your hand blasting and crushing and seperating! 5 gallon bucket with a couple of screens on top quickly seperates out the rocks and the fines, but then you're left with a 40lb 5 gallon bucket full of fines.... If you're serious about it, get a gold cube and run several 5 gallon buckets through it, Dan's got a vid on how to prep your gold cube. Get a bigger pan! Great job Thub! Loved the vid! Nice haul! Time to get a claim! Woohoo! Go for it! Sorry, kind of schizo comments, 2 beers in...

    I've watched Hurd pull gold and precious stones from the same stretch of the Fraser that I stand and fish. Last time out, I checked under every rock, every crevice and nook, and found just a few tiny garnets. The pros make it look easier than it is.

    Good job drake I been panning there for years. One thing to watch out for is moss if you beat it in the pan you will be amazed on how much gold gets trapped in it. Also get yourself a garrett super sluice 15 inch pan use scotch brite pad or sandpaper to rough it up.

  • @GlennSmith-l7s
    @GlennSmith-l7s ปีที่แล้ว

    Glad to dee this activity. The wife and I have been recreational panners for years. You are right there are no panning reserves in Alberta but that is because Alberta does not have a mineral claim system. You can pan anywhere in Alberta. Much less gold in Alberta and the gold is much finer in Alberta, but there are a few places you can go and find some. I hope you do enjoy this as a new pursuit and would love to watch these adventures from time to time. The blocky piece that you put in with your garnets is most likely iron pyrite.

    You can make A LOT of money up that way Thub, I used to watch ol Tom Massie on Gold Fever like 20 years ago lol and I ALWAYS remember him saying when the glaciers came down and spread the gold … of course my State - West Virginia- didn’t really get hit but WAYYY up there in Canada is like the source for gold/the glaciers that contained it… you could quite possibly get rich up there, depending on how you do it.. NOT saying you have to go full Discovery channel but you could do it

    How did I miss this for a month?
    Consider the energy of a moving stream. The faster it moves, the more load it can carry. Drops in velocity equal drops in load. Point banks, boulders, tree roots, and moss are the easy spots. Try to identify places that most people won't think of.
    Pools, dropoffs, and when you can begin to identify anient stream beds your yield will rise.
    Best of luck.
    Check out Klesh. He has a shit ton of prospecting videos.
    Ask Jeff Williams is a Geologist's eye view of gold prospecting. Yeah, you're gonna get wet!
    Edit: the cubic form is likely pyrite
