I really love your videos, especiallh with Archie in them. We used to have a parrot too but, I don't remember the kind of parrot. His species do speak but not a large vocabulary and sometimes sounded garbbled. One of his first words were my name, he would scream it out because my dad would call for me to come help him. the number 23 is probably 23 cm some shoe sizes are based off of the actual measurement of the foot, from a persons heel to toe is 23 cm Honestly even as an US resident I would prefer if we used a cm shoe measurement. It could be way more accurate. Like I am a size 9 or 9 and a half in most US sizes but my foot is a little over 25 cm and in most shoe charts I am SUPPOSE to be in a size 8 or 8 and a half. It would be nice to have a more standardized way to tell what size a shoe is. It is a nightmare to try and find shoes online 75% of the time.
I'd also love more accurate sizing in the US. My foot is 23 cm long and I am right in between 7 1/2 and 8, but it's always a bit of a struggle--especially because my foot is narrow as well. The only time I have any luck with shoes fitting me like they're supposed to is when there's a defect (like the 7 1/2 being a nudge too long, or the 8 being a nudge too short) or I buy from a brand that's more precise in its sizing.
I really appreciate this video because I live in Japan but for the last 33 years I thought I was female-I’m not, I’m a trans guy. So I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with Harajuku because it’s cute af and I love its aesthetic but shopping there (for women’s clothes) made me deeply unhappy in a way I couldn’t place. Now that I’m transitioning, I’m trying to figure out how to enjoy clothes again. I’ve really appreciated seeing Harajuku’s kawaii-ness through your eyes and it makes me want to go back someday and find some fun pieces I can enjoy as my real self. (Also, Archie’s presence in this video was delightful and I enjoyed it very much.)

Blasphemy! I always get a crepe while in Harajuku. I like the strawberry/ice cream crepes the best (since I'm a strawberry girl haha), normally with the strawberry or chocolate sauce. The one with cheesecake is pretty decent, but I prefer ice cream after all. Also I have the opposite problem - the one size fits all skirts and stuff are actually too big on me (I'm a size 00 to 0 in US). But I'm always happy that I can find shoes that fit me (I'm size 5 to 5.5 US).
Bodyline is also an online store, they ship to Australia too ^^ Theyre suuuper cheap despite them selling such niche style of clothes (lolita, cosplay, visual kei, w/e). Check to see if the strawberry button up shirt is actually silk, cos if you paid $40 for a silk shirt that's not bad at all. I reckon the wide flare jeans with the hearts would go quite well with any of your long sleeved shirts that are either wide near the cuff or just heaps of ruffles. I feel kind of stupid for asking this but.... Could you maybe make a video about how you lost your weight? Like what you did? I currently weigh about as much as you did and nothing I do helps. I've done every diet, I've upped the working out, I've changed my eating habits and life style. I know that there are a ton of other factors that go into the fact that I can't lose weight... but it's a struggle... I can't look in mirrors and whenever I see my reflection it's just.... I'd just really like to know how you were able to do it and what you did?
I completely understand how you feel - i'll make a video on this to explain, but i'll tell you now that cutting out carbs completely (which includes sugars/fruits!!) really helped me a lot! I've been "Keto" for a while and it changed my life!
Problem with that is that I'm a vegetarian, so fruits are literally half my diet. But I would like to learn more about how to do this and see if there is a way that I could make it work with what I can eat.
Anniekitty There are lots of videos on TH-cam that can give you a good idea of what you’d be able to eat on a vegetarian keto diet, along with websites. Adding fish into your diet also makes it a lot easier (if you’re willing to do so). But make sure to research a lot before jumping right into it :)
i actually kind of think that strawberry top goes well with that blue plaid skirt. If watching What Not to Wear has taught me anything its that clothes don't necessarily have to have the same print to go well together. Two bold prints can be worn together if there colors compliment eachother and seeing as the pink of that top and skirt seem similar on the camera i think it they look great together! and wearing a necklace in a similar blue shade and a white pair of sneakers with white socks would tie everything together quite well as well as a red handbag to bring in those strawberries!

That would really upset me. I’m a US size 10 so I have a feeling I would have the same issue you had in the past with finding clothes that fit. Kind of stinks too when you’re only able to choose from a few stores when everybody else has their pick of the litter. I didn’t realize shopping in harajuku was difficult for anyone who’s not an “average” size 1, 3, or 5.
I'm a UK size 10/12/14 and at the store I work in we stock sizes 4-20 with a majority being around a 6/8/10. But we still stock lots in all different sizes, there's just an illusion of "more" of certain sizes because other sizes are in high demand and sell out fast. We don't favour one size over another. Maybe it's different in the states?
Tizella O stores in the states cater to people my size? When I was a size 0, 3, and 5 I never had any problems finding XS tops or size 0 or 00 pants. Only after having had 3 children, I’ve grown and still don’t have a problem finding clothes here in the US. I was just saying I would feel sad having the same issue Alex had in the past when visiting Harajuku. Only having a couple stores to shop at for your size isn’t fair. I’m all about inclusivity and I feel every store should carry things for every size. Why single out just smaller people or just larger people? There are tons of beautiful clothes at the store Torrid that many people want but can’t fit into. I would LOVE if they’d make another branch of the store to include all sizes. It’s just not a nice feeling of being left out because you don’t fit the picture for what size body is ideal.
EternalAngel it’s the same here in the states lol. Most stores here (except plus size stores like Torrid) carry all sizes from 00-16 (some only to size 12 or 14). It’s just hard to find certain sizes because they’re so in demand. When I was a size 0 I would always find my size in stores but once I grew to a size 3 I would have the hardest time finding things in my size because many people who were also a size 3 were buying the hot items before I could get to them. The only stores here that “cater” to bigger women are plus size stores, but the good ones are hard to come by. There’s Torrid but they’re super expensive. The few other plus size stores around have clothes that aren’t very stylish and just look outdated or cheap.
My favorite shops in Harajuku are still the Chicago thrift shops. I found a cute accessory shop called Pink Lemontree in a little mall there I during my last visit which I liked, though. If you ever get to Nagoya, the Osu Kannon neighborhood is a lot like Harajuku and has really amazing shopping including great used kimono. I'm amazed you went to Takeshita St. during Golden Week though! I went to Kyoto during Golden Week once and it was ridiculous.

Would you ever consider talking more about your journey with your weight? I know t can be a touchy subject and all. My weight fluctuated a whole lot within the past couple years, I think due to depression and stress. In my case, I moved to Australia from Ohio to be with my partner at the time and things didn't go as well as I had hoped, and then being that I had worked so hard and basically spent all my money to be there and then figuring out that I'd have to come up with the money to leave the toxic relationship- I just got so stressed that I couldn't eat and I lost a ton of weight. I was 5'2" and 130lbs when I went there (and my USA family told me how small I was even then) and then when I came home after a year I had weighed 109lbs (which just looked wrong on my frame because the rib cage was prominent and my knees looked huge compared to the rest of my leg). Then after being depressed last year I had gained so much and I think I messed my metabolism up from not eating so I blew up and was 157lbs at my highest weight and I'm losing it all now, and I've honestly just really been working on myself and trying to eat better and tbh eat MORE (because my whole life I only ever ate once a day) and it really is like a journey. I'm 141 now and I work really hard and got a fitbit and just at my job it says I'm doing 5+ hours of intense cardio, then when I get home I do P90x but I've been stuck where I am for such a long time and it can be really disheartening. I just would like to hear your story too but if that's too touchy then yeah- totally understand.
I've only started watching your channel in the past week, and to be honest I was really half and half from previous videos talking about skin on your thighs etc etc and I felt a bit weird being a bigger person and your figure is to die for. Finding out you have gone through such a dramatic weigh loss journey has really inspired me. Without being judgemental its just a personal issue of jealousy wishing to be "skinny" and having such awful feelings of never having clothes never fit me even in England. Western stores used to offer significant discounts for imperfect clothing. Now there could be stains, buttons missing, a tear and if you’re lucky $3 would be taken off. Western stores seemed to have stop offering these discounts around 2010.
I know so well how you felt when nothing in the shop fitted. I feel that whenever I go to Italy, nothing ever fits! (eu 40/42). 😔 So I completely gave up shopping for clothes during holidays there. Im a rlly tall teenager whos rlly skinny and not much fits without being baggy in US sizes. This hits close to home xD. Btw aliexpress has some good korean/japanese style clothes and theyre decently priced. Just make sure to go with good reviews if u go there.

Shibuya 109 has Punyus which is a Japanese plus size retailer (Naomi Watanabe is awesome), also if you go to Disneyland/sea they often have larger sizes. :)

I was a little disjointed with Harajuku when I went, it's cool and there is some good shopping, but IMO it's fast becoming a tourist trap and it's losing the edge that made it famous :(

the number 23 is probably 23 cm
some shoe sizes are based off of the actual measurement of the foot, from a persons heel to toe is 23 cm
Honestly even as an US resident I would prefer if we used a cm shoe measurement. It could be way more accurate. Like I am a size 9 or 9 and a half in most US sizes but my foot is a little over 25 cm and in most shoe charts I am SUPPOSE to be in a size 8 or 8 and a half.
It would be nice to have a more standardized way to tell what size a shoe is. It is a nightmare to try and find shoes online 75% of the time.
I'd also love more accurate sizing in the US. My foot is 23 cm long and I am right in between 7 1/2 and 8, but it's always a bit of a struggle--especially because my foot is narrow as well. The only time I have any luck with shoes fitting me like they're supposed to is when there's a defect (like the 7 1/2 being a nudge too long, or the 8 being a nudge too short) or I buy from a brand that's more precise in its sizing.
I think a 23 is around a size 6.
Im a size 8.5-9 in us but a 7.5 on some shoes like boots and heels. Its confusing.
I really appreciate this video because I live in Japan but for the last 33 years I thought I was female-I’m not, I’m a trans guy. So I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with Harajuku because it’s cute af and I love its aesthetic but shopping there (for women’s clothes) made me deeply unhappy in a way I couldn’t place. Now that I’m transitioning, I’m trying to figure out how to enjoy clothes again. I’ve really appreciated seeing Harajuku’s kawaii-ness through your eyes and it makes me want to go back someday and find some fun pieces I can enjoy as my real self.

Blasphemy! I always get a crepe while in Harajuku. I like the strawberry/ice cream crepes the best (since I'm a strawberry girl haha), normally with the strawberry or chocolate sauce. The one with cheesecake is pretty decent, but I prefer ice cream after all. Also I have the opposite problem - the one size fits all skirts and stuff are actually too big on me (I'm a size 00 to 0 in US). But I'm always happy that I can find shoes that fit me (I'm size 5 to 5.5 US).
Bodyline is also an online store, they ship to Australia too ^^ Theyre suuuper cheap despite them selling such niche style of clothes (lolita, cosplay, visual kei, w/e).
Check to see if the strawberry button up shirt is actually silk, cos if you paid $40 for a silk shirt that's not bad at all.
I reckon the wide flare jeans with the hearts would go quite well with any of your long sleeved shirts that are either wide near the cuff or just heaps of ruffles.

I feel kind of stupid for asking this but.... Could you maybe make a video about how you lost your weight? Like what you did? I currently weigh about as much as you did and nothing I do helps. I've done every diet, I've upped the working out, I've changed my eating habits and life style. I know that there are a ton of other factors that go into the fact that I can't lose weight... but it's a struggle... I can't look in mirrors and whenever I see my reflection it's just....

I completely understand how you feel - i'll make a video on this to explain, but i'll tell you now that cutting out carbs completely (which includes sugars/fruits!!) really helped me a lot! I've been "Keto" for a while and it changed my life!
I've had the same success! Not to your degree, of course, but it really does work.
Problem with that is that I'm a vegetarian, so fruits are literally half my diet. But I would like to learn more about how to do this and see if there is a way that I could make it work with what I can eat.
Anniekitty There are lots of videos on TH-cam that can give you a good idea of what you’d be able to eat on a vegetarian keto diet, along with websites. Adding fish into your diet also makes it a lot easier (if you’re willing to do so). But make sure to research a lot before jumping right into it :)

i actually kind of think that strawberry top goes well with that blue plaid skirt. If watching What Not to Wear has taught me anything its that clothes don't necessarily have to have the same print to go well together. Two bold prints can be worn together if there colors compliment eachother and seeing as the pink of that top and skirt seem similar on the camera i think it they look great together! and wearing a necklace in a similar blue shade and a white pair of sneakers with white socks would tie everything together quite well as well as a red handbag to bring in those strawberries!

That would really upset me. I’m a US size 10 so I have a feeling I would have the same issue you had in the past with finding clothes that fit. Kind of stinks too when you’re only able to choose from a few stores when everybody else has their pick of the litter. I didn’t realize shopping in harajuku was difficult for anyone who’s not an “average” size 1, 3, or 5.

I'm a UK size 10/12/14 and at the store I work in we stock sizes 4-20 with a majority being around a 6/8/10. But we still stock lots in all different sizes, there's just an illusion of "more" of certain sizes because other sizes are in high demand and sell out fast. We don't favour one size over another. Maybe it's different in the states?
Tizella O stores in the states cater to people my size? When I was a size 0, 3, and 5 I never had any problems finding XS tops or size 0 or 00 pants. Only after having had 3 children, I’ve grown and still don’t have a problem finding clothes here in the US. I was just saying I would feel sad having the same issue Alex had in the past when visiting Harajuku. Only having a couple stores to shop at for your size isn’t fair. I’m all about inclusivity and I feel every store should carry things for every size. Why single out just smaller people or just larger people? There are tons of beautiful clothes at the store Torrid that many people want but can’t fit into. I would LOVE if they’d make another branch of the store to include all sizes. It’s just not a nice feeling of being left out because you don’t fit the picture for what size body is ideal.
EternalAngel it’s the same here in the states lol. Most stores here (except plus size stores like Torrid) carry all sizes from 00-16 (some only to size 12 or 14). It’s just hard to find certain sizes because they’re so in demand. When I was a size 0 I would always find my size in stores but once I grew to a size 3 I would have the hardest time finding things in my size because many people who were also a size 3 were buying the hot items before I could get to them. The only stores here that “cater” to bigger women are plus size stores, but the good ones are hard to come by. There’s Torrid but they’re super expensive. The few other plus size stores around have clothes that aren’t very stylish and just look outdated or cheap.

My favorite shops in Harajuku are still the Chicago thrift shops. I found a cute accessory shop called Pink Lemontree in a little mall there I during my last visit which I liked, though. If you ever get to Nagoya, the Osu Kannon neighborhood is a lot like Harajuku and has really amazing shopping including great used kimono. I'm amazed you went to Takeshita St. during Golden Week though! I went to Kyoto during Golden Week once and it was ridiculous.

Would you ever consider talking more about your journey with your weight? I know t can be a touchy subject and all. My weight fluctuated a whole lot within the past couple years, I think due to depression and stress. In my case, I moved to Australia from Ohio to be with my partner at the time and things didn't go as well as I had hoped, and then being that I had worked so hard and basically spent all my money to be there and then figuring out that I'd have to come up with the money to leave the toxic relationship- I just got so stressed that I couldn't eat and I lost a ton of weight. I was 5'2" and 130lbs when I went there (and my USA family told me how small I was even then) and then when I came home after a year I had weighed 109lbs (which just looked wrong on my frame because the rib cage was prominent and my knees looked huge compared to the rest of my leg).
Then after being depressed last year I had gained so much and I think I messed my metabolism up from not eating so I blew up and was 157lbs at my highest weight and I'm losing it all now, and I've honestly just really been working on myself and trying to eat better and tbh eat MORE (because my whole life I only ever ate once a day) and it really is like a journey. I'm 141 now and I work really hard and got a fitbit and just at my job it says I'm doing 5+ hours of intense cardio, then when I get home I do P90x but I've been stuck where I am for such a long time and it can be really disheartening.
I just would like to hear your story too but if that's too touchy then yeah- totally understand.

Shibuya 109 has Punyus which is a Japanese plus size retailer (Naomi Watanabe is awesome), also if you go to Disneyland/sea they often have larger sizes. :)
