As the new school year approaches, teacher shortages continue to impact schools across the country, with a particular shortage of Te Reo Māori teachers in mainstream schools. Matua Ramon Roberts made the move from Kura Kaupapa to mainstream education after witnessing the decline in Māori language teachers, while Ann Brokenshire, Principal of Hillmorton High School, faces ongoing challenges in securing a Te Reo Māori teacher.
