- it is a tradition for the underclassmen and maybe other teachers to play "Pomp and Circumstance" each year at graduation. The 2012 graduation may be slightly different from the 2011 graduation in terms of how we hear "Pomp and Circumstance".
I graduate hs. next week and I hear my band practice this almost every time I walk past the room. I'm going to be the graduate that is crying!
Cierra Stading its not easy
it does bring out emotion. Very proud of you
I agree with Brandon. It's the HARDEST thing to do... saying goodbye to the school you knew for years! Congratulations!! I assume you have graduated from college now, if you attended college. How are you doing now?
I cried while getting my diploma 😂
I graduated about 17 years ago and this still brings tears somehow. I was fine at my actual graduation until the band’s musical selection, which I was in charge of conducting, voted by the band. Woodwinds started crying middle of the piece and that got me.
If you’re watching this and are graduating in 2023, congratulations.
My life is going by so quickly I cant even enjoy my youth while its here
Its so sad because I remember when I used to want to be older so that I could drive and get out of school but as I get older I realize that life after you graduate is not somewhere you want to be.
For all the children still in school, lets just enjoy and embrace our youth to the fullest, because it wont be here forever🙌🙌
Graduating from college next May, I am going to cry when I graduate! Already crying! Yes, Community College, I struggled in hs academically, so for me to graduate from community college is a big deal for me! I have special needs and graduating from ANY college is a big deal. I know, community college is nothing, unless you walk in my shoes, you won't understand. I was bullied growing up so graduating means that I have won over the bullies. I play(ed) the flute!!!
*Update:
I am now attending my local University (George Mason University) after SEVEN years as a Community College student. I LOVE MASON!!! I just transferred last Summer (2020)!!
I am special needs myself I am going graduate high school May 26 2023 I will cry so much
@@mollyAllison10 CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Omg this song is so dear to me i love it, i graduated in June this year and i almost went into tears because i was so happy and my band played it so well it made me have a flashback of me playing it the last 3 years before my senior year. I'm gonna join my old band and play it again as an alumni.

I am class of 2023 I crying now it Aug now when it gets to May 27 is my graduation I will get my eyes out and it varry emotional to me I am also special needs
Timeless! Well played!
My high school band has this arrangement as well. I played this piece in 1993-95 and was able to hear it at my commencement in 1996. Love this version! Brings back a lot of memories, mostly because we had to play it on average for about 12 mins because of the large graduating classes.
played this song today for my best friends graduation, when she came on and her diploma was given i cried and almost couldn't play
I always wish that one day the entire march would be played at graduations I love the entire march
Currently I'm Freshman in High School and I am the Class of 2024, and I can't believe I will be Graduating High School in 3 years

Now you're a junior
Currently I’m a freshman. Well.. _was_ a freshman. By the end of the summer I’m gonna be a sophomore.
@@Kameron347 Good Luck in Sophomore Year my tips is do good in all classes, do the work, don't skip class, always have good grades!!!

@@dylancifuentes9483 yay you finally graduated
I love this song. I'm only in sixth grade and have beggining band as my elective in middle school and play the flute. We have to play for the graduation and I'm happy that I get to go into advanced band next year. Nice job guys!
Im playing this too as a flute. I have my flute right now practicing this piece for the eight trader's graduation. I'm in seventh though
Me too. For the eighth note ,quarter note, eighth note parts we have to do Short Long Short it's more difficult but I play alto sax :)

George Mason University Class of 2025!!!!!!!! One more year! Let's go rising Seniors!
I heard this song today (not at graduation) and I loved it. I mean I loved the band who played it, they played it so well. So I looked up, “High school graduation song band cover” because I didn’t know the name of the song.
As the band always plays Pomp and Circumstance and Trumpet Voluntary at Gower Middle School from each graduation ceremony from 2002-2028 and the virtual graduation ceremony was in 2020 during a COVID-19 disease with the pandemic from 2019-2022 and in 2019, the COVID-19 pandemic disease started and it ended in 2022 when each graduation band always plays Pomp and Circumstance when the graduates march around the room to enter the stadium and the graduation band at each ceremony that's quicker in 2023 which the graduation band always plays Trumpet Voluntary at the end of each graduation ceremony when the graduating class exits the stadium and to march around the room some more at the end of each graduation ceremony when the band plays at each graduation because it will be part of a rehearsal or a performance when eighth graders need to be in their morning graduation rehearsal when they graduate Middle School, High School or College until they're a young adult or when you be 90 years old but high school will go by even quicker when each graduating class march around the hall to enter the stadium and the graduation band plays another graduation march at each ceremony when students wear cap and gown as a graduating student after they get their graduation pictures taken or retaken before each graduation ceremony at the end of each school year when students complete grade levels until as an adult. When each graduation band plays 2 graduation marches at Gower Middle School like Pomp and Circumstance and Trumpet Voluntary. They are always graduation marches.

I love this song so much but it gets old because i have to play it for 20 minutes straight while the graduates are are walking out every year! lol i don't mind it though.
Edit: btw I play flute and my band director always puts me on first flute for this but i think that first flute is pretty easy. /: any opinions?
I’m gonna look at this comment in 3 years and say Jesus where did the time go
3 years later: Where did the time go….
2 years to go ;P
When you're a graduate, you hold promotion certificates and diplomas at each ceremony of graduating classes.
TUNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hated learning clarinet before I got my own bc i had to share with another boy n the teacher and one of them had horrible breath n left the reed full of spit...bad memories =\

Its a baritone-its just the size of the baritone... I play trumpet too

Can someone tell me where online to go purchase the full music and score for this...or just tell me the arranger
Clare Grundman is the arranger. It's perhaps the most popular arrangement of Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1 used for high school graduations. The original Elgar version of March No. 1 only shares the main "chorus."
No hate but it sounds better in D major
Bravi!
It's so Sad 😥😢😭
