I have a 50 year old UTB Universal 445. It has been used and abused but never broke down and never broke any part. The thing is a beast. Best tractor ever no doubt, I can't imagine a better machine
We’ve got 2 UTB/universal built LONG tractors and a one zetor built LONG tractor on our farm in Wisconsin USA, we also have a long combine but it hasn’t been used since the mid 90s
@@MatheoMisiak I’ll see if we have any old pictures of it when it was in the field, if I can’t, I’ll go over to my uncles and see if I can find it, he was talking about selling it but idk if he actually did
Hello from Romania! This video is accurate and I want to share you my respect for talking on Romanian tractors, the U650 are the workhorse of many families but on the big farms, they can't really cope and unfortunately they are getting replaced by modern equipment which I hate to see that. I am inclined towards old school national machinery and the 650 and 445 series are the most popular because they are one of simpler, cheaper to run and reliable tractors. Unfortunately other series of tractors from UTB don't see much use and end up being parted out or replaced.
I appreciate the fact that you incorporated Moldova Republic into Romania in the start of the video and also mentioned Resident Evil Village which I played for 7 times now and I find a lot of romanian resemblance. As for the UTB tractors, they're a lot of them in service, even here in my village and I love them. Even more when I see them as mods in Farming Simulator games.
My grandfather bought a universal 530 DTC 4x4 in the late 80's and a 445 2x4 in the late 90's they are running strong and are still used for stove wood, both new. I recently bought a Massey Ferguson 2675 it's a huge change. Edit, here in Canada
I've been following you for a few weeks, and this video gave me a pleasant surprise, seeing that you make a video about tractors from my home country 😀
The GEDA 100 (11:06) has an unusual solution for its cab: it is a truck cab, surely from Romanian firm A.B. ROMAN / DAC, a truck manufacturer whose models where mainly licensed MAN trucks, cab design included. The exact Roman model from which the GEDA cab come from could be the Roman 18.280 FL or 19.410 FS. A smart and cheap solution for a very roomy cab in my opinion.
@@MatheoMisiak No, I'm Italian, but I'm a "transportation enthusiast" who is interested in vehicles of any kind and from around the world. I discovered Romanian cars and trucks a few years ago from a website called "Automobile Romanesti" and I thought about that possible "connection" between GEMA and Roman. Congratulations again for this new video! Keep it up!!
@@MatheoMisiak If you want to make it, I'd really like it!! 😄 Again, I've discovered Polish trucks via websites and videos here and there, but I'm sure you are far more competent on the subject than me👍👍
When I worked at a Massy Ferguson dealer here in Canada back in 1989 we also sold Universal tractors. They were surprisingly well made and offered a bit better finish than Belarus did at the time. When we brought in a tractor they came with additional parts like starter, alternator, clutch pack and so on for spare parts which saved time if there was any issues. One thing the rubber was not very good quality and often needed to be replace after a couple seasons because of cracking.
AS A FARM BOY FROM 1942 ,I ENJOYED YOUR VIDEO WORK! IN THE USA WE HEARD VERY LITTLE ABOUT THE FARM MACHINERY AVAILABLE IN EUROPE AND IN THE SOVIET RUSSIA! LIKE IN USA SOME OF THE TRIED AND TRUE TRACTOR AND MACHINERY BRANDS FADED AWAY, TOO BAD! IN THE LAST BRAND PRESENTATION THERE WAS A VERY LARGE 4 WHEEL DRIVE TRACTOR, COMPARABLE TO THE STEIGER AND VERSATILE BRANDS! WOULD LIKE TO SEE A POST DESCRIBING THIS MODEL MORE CLOSELY!👍👍
Interesting tractor history👍I knew little bit UBT but others no, I wouldn’t mind full tractor review of Valtec especially cab features. Interesting that some of tractors n crawlers have FAIT design but was surprise with Laverda design headers it sounds very common in Eastern Europe?
Tuber is not from Turkey, tuber is Croatian tractor, made by TPS Labinprogres with yanmar and lombardini motors. Nice video and greetings from Croatia, next time you can also make a video about agricultural machinery from ex Yugoslavia (IMT, rakovica, torpedo, Tomo Vinković, štore, Đuro Đaković, zmaj, SIP, Creina, OLT.......we had them many).
@@MatheoMisiak He was romanian, born in Romania,in Lugos...but hungarians know not much history, probably because they come late in Europe... Also Dracula Castle is in Romania and he was a verry proud to play the role loving and missing romanian lands.
I'm not a farmer but I live around, and understand farming quite well. I'm actually more into the Tractors and engines period. As an American I would really like to see a video about Tractors in Poland pre and post communism. It would be nice to see footage of your Tractors or Tractors in your community. I wonder if they make detailed die-cast models of popular or antique tractors in Europe? Also, I think that every farmer or anyone that uses a small tractor regularly should have the opportunity to use a Ford 9N. Where I live in the USA people are still selling them back and forth to one another, restoring, and most importantly, because they aren't really rare, they are used in a productive utilitarian manner everyday. Personally I think it's the only Ford product I'd ever own except for 4.9 liter that used to be very common in all sorts of equipment. Owned a few. Changed dozens of starters.
@@MatheoMisiak IMT and Rakovica are from Serbia, but we had Torpedo and Toma Vinkovic tractors from Croatia,Zmaj harvesters from Serbia and today we only have Majevica Patriot tractor with 90 horsepower which is made in Serbia in Backa Palanka.Serial production is expected to start this year, and later there maybe be more models. That is not all,an engineer who worked at IMT started a movement to rebuild IMT, but since IMT was sold to the Indian company TAFE, the new tractors will be called TIM. IMT name means machinery and tractor industry, and TIM means tractors and machinery. He found people who will design the machines and the new factory, I hope everything will start as it should.
