    Thank you for this video. My dog loves to chew on bones. I recently moved so she cannot get what she used to in her diet. I noticed she was eating the egg shells as they were. I knew she had a deficiency then. Glad I found your video. Thank you 😊

    Thank you! and this will be fine for me.. I am lactose intolerant - can't take calcium from milk! Great stuff!

    You can also put them to a blender and make a calcium gravy, which is easy to mix with ground raw meat.

    most of the food that is discarded by humans are a great source of protein and essential nutrients to carnivorous pets, Eg : egg shells, bones and cartilage, organs, Offal, Fish bones and head,
    Mixing all this with a good source of binding agents like grains, fiber rich vegetables and psyllium husk ensures that your pet is getting all the nutritional requirements and has a healthy gut the pet needs to digest the food and absorb the nutrients, no matter what you feed your pet if its not absorbed it just turns to poop.

    This is a cool idea.
    What does your dog's diet look like? I'm not sure if you've touched on that in any other videos. Thanks!

    My dog has a lightly boiled egg in its shell every morning. Just crunched up and mixed with other food.

    I have done this whole process but saw other vids saying I had to boil the shells first. I rinsed the shells, placed them on a sheet to dry, and cooked the shells at 350 degrees for 30 mins. I then ground the eggs up. Do I need to throw these out and do a different batch? Not sure why everyone says boil as I would think that would take a ton of nutrition out. Do I need to boil first, or is high temps in an oven enough? Thanks.

      @RobertCabralDogs  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      don't think it matters... these were from hard boiled eggs.

      They suggest boiling to kill the bacteria prior to baking the shells. I've researched multiple Vets recommendations and depending on who you listen to some suggest boiling and others recommend exactly what Robert suggested so take your pick.

    This is probably a dumb question but does heating the eggshells get rid of the calcium and other good stuff?

    • @shillian4770
      @shillian4770 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not a dumb question, it probably does reduce a large portion of the nutrients. You could just get a mortar and pestle clean out the shell then let it dry then grind it up. That way you’d be getting the maximum amount of nutrients.

      Bones help with clean teeth and marrow. The powder provides calcium.

    • @RobertCabralDogs
