Nice one, Colin. I hope you've had a great Christmas and I wish you a Happy New Year. PoI's: 1) @ 3:13 mins, it certainly looks like quite a few lighting strip units in damp cardboard boxes. The scaffolding looks as though it'll be going higher and the platforms are doing one or both of two jobs: a) as a higher temporary contractor access or b) a form of protection from work that will continue above. 2) @ 4:50 mins, it might be interesting to have a very, very short, closer look at what work is going on with the other scaffolding, on the buildings on Regent Road, opposite the North, vehicular entrance. 3) @ 5:56 mins, thanks for that 'special ' chance to look under the overhang, showing how wide it is for vehicles 4) @ 7:41 mins, I am curious as to what the new structure is on the middle-front of the SE roof area. There's definitely earthing cable laid across the SE corner area, attached to the steels. I expect to see some new activity up there, especially as they have laid an area of protective matting on the plaza roughly below that. I agree that it's a layer of paint, but why is the SE corner singled out for earthing, I wonder. There are definitely electrical cabinets on that roofing, both under the barrel-cladding but also on the exposed area behind the castellations, as you can see the conduit running along the base of the East Stand Mansard Roof to the new structure in the middle of the castellations (seen again @18:36 mins). 5) @ 14:29, it was interesting to see where the line was between granite and tarmac under the mezzanine.
Thanks, I had been planning the trip for a few days but the fog not lifting for days wasn’t helping, I had tried 2 days earlier and successfully got the scaffolding and underneath the north stand and the fog suddenly got thicker and I couldn’t see the stadium from regents road so ended up having to give up. I had planned a nice low flight along the plaza until the security guard decided to walk along it! Hopefully now people see how little space those two cars took up under the north stand there will be no more questions about the team coaches fitting under there! Will keep an eye on what progresses with the scaffolding and the SE corner, it was good to come away with more questions than answers.
Joel: although lighting is one of many possibilities, those potential units are nothing like the other lighting units on nthe E, S and W sides. The North Stand doesn't need a whole lot of lighting anyway as it's not really on display to people on the ground or from prominent viewpoints. The E, S and W views are way more important. Like anyone else, I watch with interest to see what develops.
That scaffolding going up is possibly to finish painting to all steels you can see there a lot of primed grey steel still to be finished to white to complement the other end of the stand.
Have you seen the blue lights getting brighter at night on the barrel cladding? I hope the engineers designed for that because the lighting doesn’t look right.
It worries me....the roof, the curvature I hope is right, rolled brushed aluminium am sure of it, hoped it's locked together right, c an get some Big blows of the river, we all know that ! also metal hates salt air, work with metal, all going well she should be fine.
Thanks for the great video updates Colin on this project and the Etihad. Thanks for pointing yourself out where you are standing to shoot this, can you do the same when you are at the Etihad too.
Pretty sure the material on the south east corner roof you were wondering about is conduit for cables of some sort. Either power or control or both if it's PoE.
That’s because the stadium isn’t finished! LOR have handed the keys over to Everton but they are still on site to complete their work, oversee snagging issues and then there are independent contractors still working.
It won't be completely finished for another 3-6 months. It's just that the main contractor has pretty much done everything they need to do, now they hand it over to Everton who have other firms coming in to do the remaining jobs.
is the dock land built on solid rock , also seems a bit odd to build it there and drunk football fans and water dont seem like a good idea, i could be wrong
I only noticed that when I played it back, you would also think on a match day that even more will accumulate so I would imagine regular cleaning will have to take place
They was very limited to what they could use on the exterior, materials and colour wise due to the area it's in. Not sure why because the areas a shit hole so having blue instead of black wouldn't have made a difference.
It's real bricks set on to concrete panels which are hung on the steel and concrete structure. The bricks might not actually be holding the building up but they are definitely not fake

fsg is closed to fans, there is nothing to look forward to anymore see owner everton it doesn't take long fantastic progress for clubs, FSG only provided those 2 stands for so long 😢
For Everton fans, you are lucky with your club owner and congratulations on this new stadium 💙
Well done, nice close up! Its really a wonderful stadium, very beautiful. Grts from a Feyenoord fan!
Brilliant and thank you again for keeping us updated right to the end, can't wait for the EFC signage to go up and then it really is ours.
Thanks Colin! I love watching these videos in the morning with my coffee.

It does look a beautiful 🏟️ stadium, I'm a RED. But hope this changes EVERTON Fortune. 👍👍👍👍👍
Merseyside Stadium.

Marvellous :) The shot of the reflections at 15:30 would make a good desktop wallpaper!
Brilliant footage,thanks 👍
Another great video mate and would like to wish you a happy new year .
3:46 I was thinking they were lights too, I really hope so because the north stand needs some!! 👍

All the best Colin mate thanks for all the updates 🎉🎉🍺👍
Thanks Colin. Have a great new year 👍
Thanks Colin, hope you had a good Christmas and happy new year.
Great again maar 👍
Thanks.

Not sure how many times you can say to people, who say it looks unfinished, that it still is unfinished 😂
It is beyond belief. Some of the comments seem like they are from people who have literally never stepped foot on the outside world.
😆
It looks like there is a surprising amount still to be done when you zoom in on the roof areas...
Have you seen the blue lights getting brighter at night on the barrel cladding? I hope the engineers designed for that because the lighting doesn’t look right.
All the units have about 20 separate LED's in them with remote control for varying brightness and spread. I recommend patience.
Happy New Year to you!
The zoom in shows that the roof is actually a bit of a mess and needs cleaning up asap.

We don't kick off in it till August. There's plenty of time for that man.
You do realise that there is still 6 months of work to go on around the stadium?

It looks like grounding for the barrel cladding/roof to me.
Going yo miss Goodson , one of the great grounds , but this looks good ..//How many fans will end up in the water ../ ??
Most weeks at least one, when Liverpool play, 8000 reds 😉
After the derby, about 51,000 blues 😂
What is that old red bricks building inside the perimeter?
It is an old hydraulic tower, it is a listed building so had to stay. It is unsure what it will be used for yet
@ thank you, it gives a touch of Old England to the spot
Will be a fan information centre and museum.
What is the black rectangle area on the floor to the South side of the blue brick seating in the South East corner ?
No sure, I presume it’s some sort of floor protection that’s either still needed or just hasn’t been taken up yet
Colin what is the area next to the dugouts with the small single row of seats for?
Thanks for the excellent video, appreciated. What struck me is the finishing, at the moment anyway, in some areas is very poor for £750 Million?

Where’s the parking for the fans, workers, etc?
Hopefully Everton or Peel will actively manage the trash collecting in the dock.
Hmm, I too was wondering how that will play out.
I only noticed that when I played it back, you would also think on a match day that even more will accumulate so I would imagine regular cleaning will have to take place
For a club who's primary colour is blue I'm surprised the lack there of.
They was very limited to what they could use on the exterior, materials and colour wise due to the area it's in. Not sure why because the areas a shit hole so having blue instead of black wouldn't have made a difference.
Grey stuff is two part epoxy which is rolled on with brushes
Wouldn’t it be rolled on with a roller?
I assume they're negociating about who will finish the job, and when ...
I hope it's all okay inside ...
It is already under contract and has been handled.
@@johnrochford4633it's a company called Overberry who are taking over but Laing O'Rourke will be on site for another month
that fake brick work takes the look of what is a cracking stadium, the roof and inside looks really good
It’s not fake brick mate I thought it was at first but theirs actually a video showing how they done it think the company was called sevenfields
It's real bricks set on to concrete panels which are hung on the steel and concrete structure. The bricks might not actually be holding the building up but they are definitely not fake
As mentioned, they used real bricks, cut them half and mounted them onto frames. This reduce costs of bricks by 50%
The legacy of mad mosh 😂. Oh and being proper shit 💙
looks good on the outside, looks crap on the inside
Like most uk stadiums , it looks mazing inside but outside is absolutely hideous
Most people are saying the opposite 😂 looks great on the outside but very average looking on the inside haha
Awful design looks like a giant bar code. .
Better than a hole punch 😁
It's a nod to the "warehouse architecture" seen along the docks. Columns of black steel doors which open as required. A hoist is above the top doors.
A 21st century stadium.....for a club with no trophies in the 21st century 😂
I saw in a video the other day that this stadium was getting a lot of rain, you would be a disgrace if it opened like this.
It 'was getting a lot of rain' simply because the drainage work wasn't complete in that area. We've had really heavy rain since then with no problem.
