You want to know what God said listen to what he’s already said! Love that… To know his heart you have to be in his word to know his character. To be able to tell what is of God and not… Thank you ❤
God is in control of everything! He is the almighty Creator! The world's not falling apart, its falling into place! With the air your breathed into my lungs, I will praise your name! Hallelujah!
Aloha, praise the Lord and good morning BR family. I Jeremiah 23:6, In the days of Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTOUSNESS. Glory and honor to God. He is where the JOY is!!!
Great recap as always TLC, King Nebby definitely brings back those Veggie Tales vibes from when my kids were little! Also, thank you so much to everyone of y'all who prayed and/or responded to my post for my son yesterday. I love and appreciate y'all greatly🙏
My God shot came from Jer 23:23-24. I believe this is to say that God knows what is going on with these evil prophets. But I also took encouragement from it from a believer’s perspective. God is not far from me. He is always near and fills the earth with His presence.
God I trust you and your message. You are in control I know that you are our God and even in trials and tribulations you are there. You are where the joy is. 🙏🏽
Jeremiah 24:7 inspires me and reminds me to believe that He is still in the business of changing hearts. Yesterday my my heart was so heavy. I ugly cried. I felt alone like Jeremiah. I wondered why God has continued to keep me "alone" as I dedicate my whole being to Him. After 19 years of standing side by side with a man who's had a hard heart, how can he continue to be so far away from the Lord? Not to mention other family members who just don't have the desire to walk with Him. I felt SO alone yesterday. While I declare and praise the Lord, those I love most on this planet sit idle next to me in the church but they're not in the kingdom. Praise the Lord for Sunday worship. As we praised the Lord yesterday as a church family, I leaned into ALL of him. He is the potter and we are the clay. He molds us and shapes us. I have to remember that He is working things out and the truth is... I am not alone. It may feel lonely, but He is where the joy is and He has me in His hands just where He wants me. So, back to today's reminder... He is the One who will give a new heart to know Him and He will rescue those who change their ways and repent to Him. HE'S the driver and we are along for the ride. I have full confidence that God is working on ME in this. He's calling me to lean in and to trust Him more with each feeling. He's pointing out places in which I have grown or still need to grow. He's giving me a steadfast reminder that He loves me and that all I need is Him. I love that if I want to hear Him speak, I just have to be quiet and in the Word that He gave me. Read it out loud and His voice is even more clear. Praise YOU alone, Father, God. Healer. Miracle worker. Changer and keeper of hearts. You keep me, Father. YOU keep me in perfect peace because I trust in you with my whole heart. You are the same yesterday, today, tomorrow, and forever. Let me rest in that knowledge and continue to bring me peace, Father. Have a blessed day, TBR family!
Blessings dear one! Indeed you are not alone. Thanks for sharing. A lot of what you said resonated in my own heart. Alone but not alone. You are loved.❤
You've given your hard hearted family over to God. You can't change them, the Holy Spirit can put them under conviction. Stop working so hard, God doesn't need your help. But, walk the talk and talk the walk. You're so busy trying to do the work for them, that you are not intune with God. Blessings to you.
Jeremiah 23:5-6 NKJV [5] “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. [6] In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. Jeremiah 23:23-24 NKJV [23] “Am I a God near at hand,” says the Lord, “And not a God afar off? [24] Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him?” says the Lord; “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord.
God holds his priests and prophets to a high standard. We as believers in Jesus Christ are called to "tend my people" speak truth, care for the weak and give to the poor. God's truth is found in His Word. He holds believers to a high standard because if we speak falsely against God and knowingly do so, that is more offensive to God than someone who does not know God and sins. God speaks truth through the Bible. Our perfect instruction can be held in our hands in our Bible. We can audibly hear God speak when we read the Bible out loud! Thank you Jesus! Jeremiah 23:2 NIV "Therefore this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says to the shepherds who tend my people: “Because you have scattered my flock and driven them away and have not bestowed care on them, I will bestow punishment on you for the evil you have done,” declares the Lord." We are called to lead people to God and to truth not away from Him.
Righteousness is always in the context of Restoration-a Remedy where Jesus transforms me-the “wicked, ungodly man” whose “despicable acts” God has seen, where He has “made my path slippery” (Jer 23:12)-transforming me from “rotten figs” to “fresh, ripe figs” (Jer 24:2). Those good figs did nothing to make themselves good except to hear God’s word and do it (see James 1:22 & Rom 2:13). But that obedience itself doesn’t make me Righteous, because He, Himself “is our Righteousness” (Jer 23:6). I think that “word that burns like a fire” (Jer 23:29) is the Spirit that He kindles, using the kindling of a willing heart.
Day 224 Jeremiah 18-22 Jeremiah rebukes the leaders of Judah but seems to say opposite things. Who did the scattering of the leaders of Judah, the enemies or God? Both did. God use the enemies as the active agent. God is using their evil actions within His good and overall arching plan. God is sovereign. God redeems the wicked things done to His kids. Fearlessness is a trait of God’s sheep. He has proven Himself to be our good Shepherd. God promises a day when He will raise up a righteous king from the line of David. This will be Jesus. God says the sins of Judah and it’s capital Jerusalem are worse than that of Israel and it’s capital Samaria. Israel and Samaria were prophesying by baal. But the people of Judah and Jerusalem were prophesying, saying it was from God, all the while worshiping false gods and oppressing the poor. The people of Judah had access to the temple, the Levites, the scrolls and they still walked away from God. They have a higher level of accountability and responsibility because of what they know and have access to. God sees and is aware of everything they are doing. Chapter 23 vs 33-40 The word masa has 2 meanings, message and burden. Jeremiah tells the people they are not allowed to say they have the masa-message. They do not. They are lying and leading others astray. He tells them if you want to know what God is saying, pay attention to what He has already said. If you want to hear God speak, read your Bible out loud. God speaks clearly through His word. Chapters 24 and 25 Zedekiah is the last king of Judah. Easy to remember his name starts with a Z. What we see in these chapter 24 is a reference to earlier kings. Chapter 24 King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon has taken Judahs Prince and some of their other leaders captive. We see that Babylon/ Chaldeans is already getting a foothold in Judah. They are nearing the end of their kingdom. After that when King Zedekiah becomes king God gives Jeremiah a vision of two baskets of figs in front of the temple. One is very good figs and the other very bad. The good figs represent the remnant of people that God will return to the land someday after exhile. God will give them a heart to know Him. He says they will be My people and I will be their God. God is capable of giving people new hearts! God gives new hearts as part of the process of adoption into His family. The bad figs are the wicked leaders of Judah. God will send judgment on them. Sword, famine and pestilence. Chapter 25 Jeremiah tells the people I have been begging you to repent for 23 years and nothing has changed. God sent others to warn you as well but you do not listen. Because of this, God is giving judgment and that judgement will be King Nebuchadnezzar. He will take those that survive into captivity in Babylon for 70 years. After 70 years, God is going to punish Babylon also. God is going to pour out His wrath on those nations for their sins. God’s wrath is depicted as a cup of wine and his enemies as those who will drink it. In the midst of so much deserved judgment, we see how God still made a rescue plan. He told the people of a great King to come from the line of David. A king whose name would mean the Lord is our righteousness- Jehovah Tsidkenu ( Hebrew) The people of Judah are not righteous on their own. Neither are we and we need this righteousness for us. That is Jesus. He is the Lord. God the Son. He grants us His righteousness before God the Father. Scripture tells us that Jesus is God. Jer. 23:5-6 The Lord is our Righteousness. Jesus shares that with us!!
"let's call him Nebbie" Let's not. Love your work TLC, but shortening Bible names to sound cuter really isn't necessary, and makes the stories feel a bit like fairy tales. His name may be hard to spell but it isn't hard to say.

Nebby reminds me of VeggieTales 😂
Jesus is God. Not God the son. There is only 1 God. His name is Jesus.
Day 224

Jeremiah rebukes the leaders of Judah but seems to say opposite things. Who did the scattering of the leaders of Judah, the enemies or God? Both did.
God use the enemies as the active agent.

"let's call him Nebbie"
Let's not. Love your work TLC, but shortening Bible names to sound cuter really isn't necessary, and makes the stories feel a bit like fairy tales. His name may be hard to spell but it isn't hard to say.
Why criticize? “Nebbie” is way easier to say and spell. And it may help some people remember
Agreed. Sounds disrespectful to God's Word.
