I am so very sorry for your loss. I understand, when I lost my dad, God prepared me with the word Peace and i've had that peace with me ever since but only those around me that has suffered loss understand and can comfort me in that special way. Hugs!!
Loss is very hard losing my still born daughter 9 years ago and then losing both my father 7 years ago then my mother 8 months after that. It’s hard but through all the trials and struggles I put my faith and trust in God. So sorry for your loss TLC prayers for you. God truly is where the joy is.
Aloha, praise the Lord, and good morning BR family. Today's reading was a little challenging and little confusing to me. However, I can always count on our amazing commentator, TL to give me a better understanding with metaphors and testimonial. Psalms 94:19, "In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul". All the praise, honor and glory to God. He always where the JOY is!!!
Thank you TLC for putting context to the passages. I always look forward to your videos after reading the passage. Some days are simple to understand, while some days are touch to read. In all, you provide clarity. Thank you for yielding to God's call upon your life. May the oil on your head never run dry. I'm so happy to have chosen the Bible Recap plan.
Today’s reading reminded me of the importance of TLC’s 4th daily prayer: “Correct any lies I believe about You, or anything I misunderstand.” Example: the cruelty of striking down Ezekiel’s wife, and prohibiting his grief. But unlike Job’s tragedy, who never got a straight answer on why God allowed the death of his children, God makes it clear that His purpose is that Ezekiel “will be a symbol for these people. Then they will know that I am the Lord” (Ez 24:27). I am thankful that He wants me to grieve and is very present in my grief. But in grieving, and in living out our family’s loss, God still wants others “to know that I am the Lord.” That doesn’t mean that God wanted our loss to happen (He hates death so much that “Jesus wept” (Jn 11:35) at the power that death and sorrow have over the ones He loves). God isn’t simplistic, and neither are the lives He calls us to lead and endure-but He does want our grief and endurance to show others “that He is the Lord.”
Thank you for this comment. I know from previous comments from you that you and your wife have suffered the loss of a child. God offered His son for us. He is with us in our suffering. He has also experienced the pain we experience, and He mourns for our pain. Thank you every day for your thoughtful and enlightening comments. They are unique and profound.
Praise the Lord and His provision and timing. He always has the chapter finished before I even begin. I can trust in His perfect timing as He pours out grace and compassion on my fickle heart. Let us remember to lean into Him when we are confused, sad, doubtful, and let Him provide us with healing, rest, and restoration!
Lord, today's reading was tough. Idols can start small and slowly take over our lives. They demand more and more of us because they do not fulfill our spiritual needs. Yet, God is persistent. He continues to seek a relationship with His adulterous children. God always wants us to come back to Him, no matter how tainted or corrupt we have become. God knows of all our loss we experience. He had the power to save His son from torture and death, yet He choose to allow the worst possible death and rejection so that we, his sinning, corrupt, evil children could have our sins forgiven with no consequences felt by us, the guilty. Jesus paid the price so we didn't have to. God, it is impossible for us to comprehend the depth of your love. Help me remain forever grateful. In my Lords name, Amen.
Grief is so hard, but in the mist of it I have lived closer to God than ever before. God was often the only one I talked to about my pain and it was only His words that brought me peace and comfort. Many nights I could only sleep with the psalms playing on my Bible app. His word is where the joy is!
God is ultimate judge. The commentary in my Bible about judgment in Ezekiel 24:21 says, "God reigns supreme as King of kings and Lord of lords; all that happens is in His all-powerful, all-loving hands." This is so comforting.
I don't know how many more chapters I can take of Ezekiel, or this time in the Bible. My second time through and I'm still caught up by the symbolism and these metaphors. I pray I'm not here when this world is destroyed. Hamas has killed 6 captives before they were rescued. Please God save these captives.
I am so sorry for the loss you felt Tara, I recently lost a close friend and pastor to cancer. I am just thankful he is no longer suffering but is with Jesus now. He is where the joy is🙏
Thank you for making this more understandable. I , too , lost a very loved one to cancer. It is so helpful to have someone who knows , too, and loves you. God's blessings to you always. 🥰
This was a hard read today but I learned that there is a lesson in everything. Nothing that happens is wasted by God. Thanks for sharing about your sister Tara Leigh. My condolences.
Day 246 Ezekiel 23 and 24 The sovereign Lord has spoken judgement. Heavy. God required Ezekiel to not mourn when his wife died. This would be a vivid picture of death and loss that would come to Israel. God understands the serious deadly nature of sin. This is why God in His love sending us Jesus is so powerful.
This is so fitting for our society in America rn. We are modern Isreal and Judah. No shame for our sins. Doubling down. It’s heartbreaking. Lord help us! Side note: So, Ezekiel had an *actual* wife?! I thought it was a reference of the place he lived that was being destroyed and ravaged.
Respectfully I have to point out that this is not just a picture of America or western society, but of mankind as a whole. In every country, we are broken and full of great sin. Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!(1 Cor. 15:57). He is where the joy is!🙏
Thank you! ❤

We're not aware of God's time-line. Dearly beloved, I pray you're ready for judgment!
