For 30 years, I've used what I call my 'Winter Metal' box. It consists of: 1) ¼,½oz Hammered Chrome Mann's Li'l Georges, 2) ¼,½oz Silver Plated Silver Buddys, and 3) ½,¾oz Chrome Luhr Jensen Crippled Herrings. Simple. Easy. Deadly.
you guys are the best.... you guys have improved my performance during tournaments as co angler and boater... thanks so much... your videos on bass movements during the different seasons are the best
Great video Tim, hope you and your family are doing well in Tennessee. Obviously Matt and Cece are with a new addition to their family. Thanks for being the best bass authority.
I have had very good success with a Stanley baby wedge 1/8 oz spinnerbait in these same scenarios that you described here Tim. You can fish it very slowly and it has a very small profile. I catch big bass with this technique, not just small bass. Really enjoy your videos.
Hey Tim and Matt. Way off topic and you probably won’t see this comment amongst all the comments already but…. I just watched a video of Matt from about 4 years ago on how to clean release a gut hooked fish. He did an amazing job. One of my goals for 2022 is to be able to try/attempt to clean release gut hooked fish. Do you think you gents could do a updated video on how to get a hook out of a gullet/gut hooked fish? That would be awesome. Thanks boyz. Keep up the awesome work. Always my number 1 must watch videos. Tactical4life
G'day from Australia mate just replace your belly treble on the tailspin with a inline single hook and hookups with unwanted obstacles become a nightmare of the past...best regards B.J.
Thanks Tim! You guys should make a video on how long you make your leader lengths for each application. Just a thought. Thanks ( I still remember when they were called Jackall Bros.)
Question: A lot of the tips and content is for guys with access to a boat. How does this stuff apply to guys that are pond, bank, or dock anglers? We spend a lot of time at my in-law's lake house on the Gravois Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks, however, my father-in-law's boat is already winterized and I'm stuck fishing from the dock. Likewise, when I'm back home in Kansas City I've only got access to the banks or ponds. How does this apply to guys like me? Can we get a dedicated winter time pond, bank, dock episode sometime? As always thank you for the awesome content and one of these days I'll get a boat of my own so I can really take advantage of these tips.
You can still fish this stuff shallow, just use a lighter weight, especially for bladebaits and tailspins. Fish will stick to shallow cover year round if they dont have much access to offshore stuff, like in ponds. I just fish ponds around here in the winter because im mostly a creek stomper/basic kayak angler, and most of where i catch fish, especially big ones, is in laydowns and in flooded drains in 5-10ft of water. My pb from a few years ago in january came on a flatsided squarebill in about 3 feet of water, swimming it alongside a small laydown in a neighborhood i grew up in. Anytime theres no ice covering the water you can still fish shallow and relatively aggressively in ponds in the winter.
Had an idea of a new type of video, how to cross the country fishing, where to go, where to stay. I live just a bit north of Clearlake, and I'm going to be traveling east with my boys this summer
Deracoupe half ounce work great on my jerkbait rod straight floro didn't car for it on my crank rod felt like you had to reel to fast to get max vibration even when I switched to braid to leader. Definitely pay attention to how it vibrates depending on the rod
I saw a kid win a high school tournament and take big fish once, by using a shiny RED Rattling Rap (with the metal clacker in the side) that he said he'd just gotten in his Christmas stocking. Hard to argue with his success; he had about 22½lbs of fish, anchored by one big ol' head over 5lbs!
Tim I noticed on bladebaits when I get bit it’s usualy on the rear hook because it’s more of a reaction bite, I havnt heard anyone mention this but should I maybe increase my rear hook size & downsize the middle instead of vice versa?
the little swimbait produces fish for me yr around but specially in cold weather but i got skunked today but i was also in the Cape Fear river and it was high and muddy and really cold but tomorrow is supposed in the 60s with rain and snow coming at the end of the week , do you believe prefrontal conditions really work like warm days before the winter storm ?
That is the absolute worst condition in bass fishing: the dreaded "Cold, muddy water". Depending on temperature, I've found a few things that will work. The warmer the 'cold water' is, the more action you can use; a single Colorado blade spinnerbait will produce on prefrontal days IF there have been a couple of days of sun to warm the surface water. When the west wind blows, you can sometimes find bait in the warm surface water that has blown into the EASTERLY pockets and coves of main lake areas. White or firetiger w/a gold blade is best. A plain black or junebug Zoom 6" Lizard can give tremendous results IF you put a glass rattle in it and spray BANG scent on it (this is of the UTMOST IMPORTANCE in cold, muddy water!). If it has been just too cold or there's been no surface warming, the old crawfish colored (goldfish looking) #7 Rapala Shad Rap can be a great choice in those Northeast/Northwest, secondary pockets off of main creek channels, IF it's getting nearer to the spawn. That is one of those rare, 'special lures'. Even in hard cold, flood conditions, I've had alot of success flipping a Hematoma Sweet Beaver on a heavy (⅝-1oz), pegged tungsten sinker. There is no 'bad' time or condition to flip that bait. If it's muddy but not 'hard' cold, a 4" Berkley Havoc Pit Boss on a ¾oz Swing-football head, in the black and orange, BIG TEXAN color can work. Again, it may seem counterintuitive, but the heavier weights are key. Just give them a quick glance at it. If it's got the SOUND, and the SCENT, a quick glance will do the trick.
I’m wondering if you guys have ever tried and of the Micro or Jr. A-Rigs in waters with tiny bait fish? I have a local lake in NorCal that is always muddy and always has tiny Threadfin Shad. Thinking of trying the tiny A-Rig.
I bought the Deracoup specifically for vertical jigging. Am I the only one that has problems with it tangling on itself? I'm using the 1/2 oz. It didn't work out for me with vertical jigging.
Hey Tim, Thank you for sharing the power (knowledge). I noticed that the blade bait rod you show in the video is the IMX-PRO but the rod you list in the comment is the GCX CBR… Do you recommend the GCX for blade baits over the IMX-PRO? Thank you for all your efforts and time helping us get the most from our time on the water.

Everytime I watch a Tactical Bassin video my Tackle Warehouse cart goes up another $50.

I remember that tailspin lure being called a Little George,Thank you Tim 🤙
I throw the deracoup in 1/2oz. Love that little guy. Can't go wrong with jackal baits.

My son caught an 8lb bass on 6lb line when he was 4yrs old with a chart/wht Stanley Baby Wedge w/a single gold Colorado blade! 🏆

Those tail spins work. I bought some last year and caught my first smallmouth on it.
Smallies here in Michigan, specifically lake st clair hate chartreuse and want to kill it.
Love it! Thanks as always guys!
Great video. Learned a lot. Fishing my first tourney in early March, and wanted to try tailspinners and underspins. Thanks!
Awesome information! You guys just keep on delivering!!!
Just got my first blade bait can't wait to see if I can catch something. Thanks for the tips and tricks.

Get those little flashy swimmer hooks as an under spin instead of an expose took for bank fishing
I could use some tips, me and my 7yr old son have been fishing alot for the last 3wks and no luck.
This applies to bank fisherman. He names off different techniques that you can apply on the bank. That's why he names them off.

@@mtfishingwizard Dang it. I'll have to go back and watch it again. I was taking my kids to school and trying to listen at the same time.
I wish jackall would release the 1/4 oz and 3/8 oz deracoups in the us….. just ordered a bunch of the 1/4 oz from japan….

I might be traveling to Guntersville or lake of the Ozarks next month to pick up a boat
Love the knowledge you share. What are you going to do to get to go fishing with you? It'd be great to get this first hand on the water!
How do you guys store them? Thank you!

The days of three dollar blade baits is gone forever .🤣
Blades and underspins are always tied on all winter long
How about the Damiki vault tail spin?
Hey Tim what do you guys think of vertical jigging raps?
Works great ice fishing

@@JB-vl6vk that's about the only time I've ever seen them used. I was curious if they did well in other situations

The 6th Sense Gyro is new to the market and on a different level for tail spins.
Copy of a Jackall.
What is the water temp on chic ?
where do you find that add-on blade to the damiki vault? recall it's in one of your videos, couldn't find it. please advise, thanks!
I dream of 1/4oz BFS tailspins and deep bends on a UL rod.
I have a Molix spin tail and that thing thumps.
Tim, please match the Deracoup weight 1/2 and 1 oz baits and conditions. I have no clue.
I’ve caught so many keeping a blade ready, dropping it on the fish I see on 2d
I bought the Deracoup specifically for vertical jigging. Am I the only one that has problems with it tangling on itself? I'm using the 1/2 oz. It didn't work out for me with vertical jigging.
Do you guys ever throw single tail grubs on underspins?
Does this stuff work after ice-out? I'm struggling to catch fish before prespawn really kicks off.
Tim- have y’all tried the KastKing BFS reel yet? Curious what y’all think. Matt- hows CeCe and the baby doing?
