Generally, Jokers like to press a lot of buttons when they get Arsene because they know their time is limited. While it's more rewarding to try and go ham on Joker with Arsene, it's risky and you could die early or take a lot of damage if you mess up. It's almost never a bad idea to slow down the game a little when Arsene comes to play.

All Ryuga really had in his arsenal this game was outplaying Leo, and he did a damn good job. Leo may have won but it was still a great set. You could see Ryuga adapting by game 2. Kinda wish it wasn't so early. A BO5 would have been really hype.

Yeah, it can definitely depend on how fast a smash attack is as well, but if joker is in the air then he'd have less options to avoid a smash attack because he have to land.

Joker is easily gimped, has little kill power outside of arsen and has little range on all of his Smash attacks. Bayo was a character that literally took alright players and gave them placements in tournaments.
Nothing against Ryuga but MK Leo is on a whole other level. To Ryuga's credit he has great movement with Ike but he just seemed to miss so many confirms and conversions, some of which could have been stocks . Now if it were Leo on Ike he would be landing those confirms solid every time, his Ike is very clean and Leo practices his confirms. Leo just seems to have the ability to pull the full potential out of every character he plays, and when you give him someone with great frame data and kill power like Joker he just looks op.
I would love to see more people punish rebel's guard. The fact that you can hold it to make it last longer really just makes it so that the punish you can get off of it will be more devastating, plus it has a lot of cool down. I saw a couple opportunities where ryuga could've gotten even an F-smash punish off of rebel's guard.
For all the people claiming Joker is broken or saying people who defend Joker are stupid, why don't you just play Joker? You should be able to get top 8 at any tournament with that logic right? Why isn't everyone and their mother playing Joker? Because he takes effort to min-max and isn't broken.

He may not be broken, but MkLeo is getting a lot of results with this character. A character that was recently released, versus all these pros who've had time to develop their character skills over the games. If he's not broken as a character, he's damn near it.
A lot of other players have tried him though and only Leo gets the results. I think it might be a similar situation to ZeRo and smash 4 diddy, where a really good player finds a good character that matches them perfectly.
Oscar Rosas Joker can hold his Rebel’s Guard for much longer than the counter activation period for other characters. For those same characters, there is a heavier risk in utilizing counter, ESPECIALLY at higher levels of play. Joker’s Guard is a weak counter sure, but what it leads to is integral to Joker’s overall gameplay and not to mention with Arsene out, Joker’s Counter/Reflector deals the greatest damage multiplier in the game. With that being said, you can imagine how tough it is to implement a counter at this level.
The sequence at the start of 7:17 would have been a stock regardless if arsene came out. Baited the airdodge with eiha and hit him with fair, ike was to low to recover either way after that and still hit him with bair. Even without arsene he wouldve been dead (maybe not straight to the blast zone but still wouldve been a gimp) Leo is just on another level.
hitting people stalling on ledge should be way easier. nintendo is obviously trying to make it more punishable but the super literal hitboxes make it so damn annoying to deal with.
Damn, leo's really good, joker is not as good as people say, he is mid tier at best, leo is the one that makes joker look good, hopefully joker will get buffs the next patch since he really lacks a lot, though still really good, we'll see what sakurai does with joker in probably a few weeks.

I think Ike has a very lame play style. He does have combo game but it all depends on him getting a nair and if you can avoid getting hit by it you won the game. Don’t set me on fire this is my opinion and what I’ve seen.

Angel Ramirez-Tellez Joker has all of these: - Great Frame Data - Broke ass comeback/snowball mechanic in Arsene - Edge guarding him is not possible due to his tether being really good and arsene recovery not being 2 frameable - Counter that also charges meter for arsene and when you have arsene the counter is active for a long ass time and is huge. - When you have Arsene on stage you do more damage, your hit boxes are larger, and your projectiles are better (Not to mention side B does damage over time in both normal and arsene mode). - Back Air covers every option when your opponent is trying to come of the ledge. But no to yall he is fine shut the fuck up. I’ve been saying this the day I labbed him when he came out.
It's so lovely to see ike get decimated in that first match. I really like mkleo, Im not super into the competitive scene but I saw Leo play with alley and they just had a good time, so I've always rooted for Leo. Except when he fights light or wishes, I like them more! Also I really don't like samsora, from what I've seen of him he's this smug elitist that gets pissy when he gets out played.

I think Ike has a very lame play style. He does have combo game but it all depends on him getting a nair and if you can avoid getting hit by it you won the game. Don’t set me on fire this is my opinion and what I’ve seen.
I don’t understand how can people defend Joker so hard. Granted, Leo is a god and probably the best player in the world, but that doesn’t make joker any less broken. Definitely deserving of the top 3 people are giving him.

Angel Ramirez-Tellez Joker has all of these:
- Great Frame Data
- Broke ass comeback/snowball mechanic in Arsene
- Edge guarding him is not possible due to his tether being really good and arsene recovery not being 2 frameable
- Counter that also charges meter for arsene and when you have arsene the counter is active for a long ass time and is huge.
- When you have Arsene on stage you do more damage, your hit boxes are larger, and your projectiles are better (Not to mention side B does damage over time in both normal and arsene mode).
- Back Air covers every option when your opponent is trying to come of the ledge.
But no to yall he is fine shut the fuck up. I’ve been saying this the day I labbed him when he came out.
It's so lovely to see ike get decimated in that first match. I really like mkleo, Im not super into the competitive scene but I saw Leo play with alley and they just had a good time, so I've always rooted for Leo. Except when he fights light or wishes, I like them more! Also I really don't like samsora, from what I've seen of him he's this smug elitist that gets pissy when he gets out played.

Obviously MKleo is great, but you can't argue that Joker's moveset and frame data isn't absolutely rediculous.
