Very entertaining. The little orange fellows were pretty silly looking. I liked the explosion effect around 1:17, where you can see sparks and ash bounce off of Xorg. Liked the look of the rocket too.

Short an sweet! The small movement details like that one monoleg scratching itself with its trunk when watching the spaceship is what really sells it. Such a small detail of extra work but it does soooo much. I love how frequently you manage to make and post these films now. :)

The corporations that put money into creative projects don't want them to really be creative. They want these projects to cater to the lowest common denominator. Once, all great success stories, from King Kong to Star Wars, was about people taking risks, trying to do things that were new or out of vogue, but today's entertainment business is run by people who want zero risks taken. I'm not claiming I'm a big creative and original genius, but neither am I much for towing the line, so I have a hard time fitting in anyplace I could make money from my creativity.

Was the space suit a sculpt? Also, a question regarding another puppet : I think his name was Nathaniel King? I forget the video but he was the drowned sailor coming home. How did you get the texture on that puppet? Great video, per usual.
The torso is a sculpture. The rest of the suit is a build-up using soft foam covered with latex skins. The Nathaniel King puppet is covered with something called chunks-o-flesh, which is an old makeup effects trick to produce torn flesh for gore effects. You use a sponge to stipple tinted latex onto a flat, smooth surface. I used a plastic tray. When you have a thin layer of dry latex you dust it down with talcum powder and then you start clawing it with your fingernails. The latex will tear and clump together, looking like organic tissue. The puppet armature was first covered with a mix of latex and cotton to create a basic decomposed look, and bits of these latex clumps were then draped over the puppet. The trunks on the alien mushrooms in Spores From Sharnoth were also draped with chunks-o-flesh.
