Thank you for hosting Mathew and Ike. I really enjoyed the interview. Both Mathew and Ike will always be BELOVED by us Gen X kids. Their collaboration in such wonderful shows and movies will always live vividly in our hearts. I’m so glad that both are thriving in life!!!!! Many blessings!!! 🙏🏻🤗❤️
Matthew was great! We had such a fun time with him. Ike is a regular co-host, so, if you like him, you'll be very happy with the show. :) Thanks for watching!
10:53 Pulling his inner Chumley. 12:02 Forgot this great day, my record was broken and I need to get it back. (And 17:35 and 19:10 lol) 15:40 Oh yeah. Probably for the best that Matthew didn't get it verified by Twin Galaxies. 16:30 Chad Matthew. That's a weird but funny image in my mind. 21:50 Man, I missed hearing his Jaden voice and I am happy to hear that he still had fun with voicing Jaden. At least I am getting used to his real voice now. I love Matthew and he's so cute talking about the things he is into,
Matthew was a wonderful child actor. One of my favorites of his many roles was as "Jody" in an episode of "The Rookies" ("Lamb To The Slaughter"). Highly recommended to all!
Great interview. I've always been a gigantic fan of his character Jaden on Yugioh, and hearing him acknowledge that role even after all this time is really awesome to hear. I wish I had the chance to interview him myself and really dig deep into his time on that show and in animation in general, that'd be a dream come true.
I am the biggest LHOTP fan. It's on cozy tv right now. I didn't have a father in my life and my stepdad wasn't so kind. I wanted Charles to be my Dad so bad and I wanted to live in Walnut Grove. I know every show by heart and it means even more to me now because of this evil world. It reminds you of how love and family is supposed to be. I still cry watching most of the episodes. Best tv show ever made!
Absolutely loved this, with Matthew and Ike! Have loved both of them since I was a kid, and, as were they, and I still do! I am 54 now, and they are fairly close in age to me...sort of "growing up together", so to speak. Had childhood crushes on both, and now, maybe still...adult crushes! Both always seemed to be really nice, decent guys. So glad to see they truly ARE!! Thank you so much for this! So nice to see Matt, since that has been such a rare, almost non-existent thing over the decades!
I must state this important fact. Matthew Laborteaux truly and richly deserved an EMMY nomination in the category of Best Guest Actor Performance In A Drama Series for his emotionally resonant portrayal of young Albert Ingalls dying of leukemia in Little House On The Prairie Look Back To Yesterday.
@@PopCultureRetro Thank you for replying. I was also impressed by Matthew Labyorteauxs guest appearance in SILK STALKINGS a few years after Little House On The Prairie. I sincerely wished that Matt could have moved on to more challenging roles in serious adult fare like Red Shoe Diaries.
Just discovered from his older brother Patrick that Matthew almost portrayed the legendary character of J. D. in the cult movie HEATHERS. But he sadly turned down the role because he could not really understand the black comedy humor of the film script.
That magazine Blip that was shown onscreen was published by Marvel Comics in 1983 and was a video game fan magazine with comics strips. Matthew was on the cover and inside of the first issue, which I bought off the rack, so I had an inkling he was a video game fan. Obviously he really became an expert over the ensuing years!
I have that magazine! I got it on eBay for a great price a while back. Now they go for like $70 but I got mine for about $10 and it’s still in great condition.
I had heard about Matthew's passion for video games, I actually think it was from my Son's years ago. I am so thrilled that you're both doing well and are happy, & dang it, you both have aged well also (not me...😆)!!! Looking forward to coming back and listening to more great podcasts!!! 🤗
Matt is a handsome man still but more than anything he is a nice guy He was always grateful for experience as child actors he was a down to earth grounded young man .He seem to have great values and respect I am impressed with Ike eisman
I remember I couldn't stop playing The Legend of Zelda when it first came out! Hours went by like minutes and you are stuck in this limbo kind of situation where you know you have to stop and join the rest of the world but that little voice in your head keeps saying ... this is going to be the time you beat this level. Great times ✌❤
I knew he wasn’t too active on social media. Since I have a fan page people contact me thinking I’m Matt and I’m like “no I’m not. He’s not on social media.” Some people message me pouring their hearts out and even though my username says “fan” at the end. People still think I’m him. I tell them that I know he’d be happy to hear their stories. And I really enjoy meeting other fans of Matthew. It’s a great fan group to me a part of because everyone is so kind. I know I’ll never meet Matt but hey maybe someday I’ll say hi to him. I don’t live near CA since I’m all the way in MD haha
Jaden has the following distinctions from the other main protagonists of Yu-Gi-Oh!: He is the only one to have "Yu" as the first part of his surname instead of his given name. He is the only one whose first name is different in the Japanese and English versions. He is the only one whose color palette does not contain any blue (Yugi's uniform is blue, Yusei's eyes and jacket are blue, Yuma's bracelet is dark blue with light blue gems on it, Yuya's pendant and the star on the right lens of his googles are light blue, Yusaku's hair contains two shades of blue, Yuga's gloves and shoes are blue, and Yudias Velgear's hair and clothing contains multiple shades of blue). He is the only one whose results of his series' final Duel are unknown (not counting Yuma and Yuya's Duels against Cathy and Yusho, respectively, as those Duels were not seen). His final Duel is also the only one that wasn't against either a partner (like Yugi, Yuma, and Yusaku) or a primary rival (like Yusei, Yuya and Yuga), as he instead faced the previous main protagonist. He is the only one whose supernatural powers do not include mid-Duel card edits. Jaden's power also do not directly relate to dueling/drawing, as they are instead directly towards the Monster Cards themselves when he chooses to manifest them (usually not in dueling situations).
Labyorteaux made his first live appearance as Jaden Yuki where he dueled Aster Phoenix and won Labyorteaux reprised the role of Jaden Yuki in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links Video Game he also voiced Jaden/Yubel and His Evil Counterpart The Supreme King where him and Yubel merged together as one after their duel The Only Duelists I know who defeated Jaden in GX are Zane Truesdale, Aster Phoenix and Kaibaman
We need to start a petition so Matt can have his world record on that website haha! Matt was the person who got me into playing video games. I remember going to this arcade that had world records on top of the games on a piece of paper and I was like “why isn’t Matt’s name on here for the world record for pac man?” It showed some person who got like 3 million points on pac man. But was like “I don’t know who you are, but Matt’s name should be on here instead “ ahha
Matt you are still rocking it
Hearing a bit of Jaden warms my heart
Matthew you seem super happy married! I’m so glad for you! ❤️
Cheers Matt, the kids who grew up with Yugioh GX loved your work man. It's awesome to hear you'll be at YCS Rosemont.

He barley talks about Yugioh
It makes me so happy to listen to Albert talking about video games 😊
Such fun stories! :)
I always had a crush on Matthew Labyorteaux.

One of the best feel-good shows that was on TV.
I wonder what the real Charles Ingalls would think about this is he knew.
Thank you Ike and Matt. Enjoyed part 2 !

This is GREAT!
Thanks, World-Famous author Lynn Rush!!
Matthew I'm a fan of yours and I love you and you seem like a sweet wonderful person so funny love your work..
Excellent sir! I rally enjoy part 2
Thank you guys! This was so much fun and brought back so many memories. I’m still down the World of Warcraft rabbit hole :)
Matt seems like a nice guy. I assume Ike is too.
I was very touched by matt labyorteaux by all means and I feel like i heew up with you matt
Matthew is a great actor and ike was awesome too In those Disney movies too🎉
Agreed on both parts! :)
It's hilarious to realise what a huge nerd he is, i'd really like to know what some of his contemporary video game favourites are haha
I must state this important fact.

Wouldn't disagree :)

Matt I still watch LHOTP. All the time You are good what you do
Mathew should have replied to his kids, Get your game on!!!
Love This!!! Thankyou❤
I love Albert as I love Matt

Hope you like the rest! Some great guests along the way! :)
Why is Matthew’s name spelled here with a “y” in the middle? On the LHOTP series itself, his name is spelled, “Labourteaux”.
Is officially with the 'y', but has used different spellings in credits.
@@PopCultureRetro Hmm. Why would they use different spellings of a person’s name? 🤔
I liked Matthew a lot as Albert and also as a young Charles on LHOTP.
Matt is a handsome man still but more than anything he is a nice guy He was always grateful for experience as child actors he was a down to earth grounded young man .He seem to have great values and respect I am impressed with Ike eisman
Yes, to both!
Both are genuinely nice people!
Lost my grandfather, the first person to die in my life, when Matthew next did PAPA AND ME, made me cry hysterically
I’m so happy to hear that Jaden’s voice actor is still getting work! I was afraid he dropped off the face of the earth.

He’s as bad as my husband when it comes to video games. 😂
I think he is talking about the violinist josh Bell i saw a video from my friend Becky salarno

THE RED HANG GANG!!!!
He was my crush on the Whiz Kids!
Another really fun show!
Zane Truesdale is the only main duelist that Jaden Yuki has not won against
suggestions for another interview : rex smith hero of the very eighties street hawk and chuck wagner hero of the short lived automan tv series.
He is on the wishlist! :)
Matthew is a very handsome man, as well as a very talented man.
Agreed on both counts! :)
Eres muy talentoso matt.
no mention of Whiz Kids? Bummer.
See Part One.
I still wish you could’ve interviewed him for your podcast.
This is all just video games coverage
Jaden Yuki
ability to cry
