Beautiful HHX -- great demo. This is excellent info for beginning drummers and may help them to prevent making a variety of mistakes. "Don't buy cheap cymbals"- no doubt. I would take that sentiment even a step further and suggest not buying any piece of cheap musical equipment, e.g., drums, drumheads, mics, mixer, sticks, etc. Love your channel, Karl. 😃😃😁😁🎶🎶
Great subject Karl! That favorite of your's is an absolute gem. The wash just encapsulates the moment...dang. That cymbal cost more than my 4 birch shells. I am replacing low volume cymbals one at a time. I am fortunate that guitar center is 10 minutes down the road and I can visit and drool over what is instantly attainable.( just not for me) Each week I go in for a lesson I check out the used cymbal area. I have picked up paiste 900 hats and a 10"splash so far. Looking for a ride and 2 crashes. I dig your cymbals and have followed your lead with remo drum heads up and down. ( drum dial absolutely surprising when I thought I was in tune at each lug. ) forgive me for being long winded.
Always good to hear from you, Edward. You may find that the darker, trashier sounding cymbals can actually be more versatile. It's great that you can hear them 1st hand. I live so far out in the country that I don't have direct access to a cymbal room, so I put the earbuds in, and try to make an informed decision remotely. My cymbal collection is actually on the small side. We hear of people with 90 snare drums and 130 cymbals... definitely not me! Thanks for watching and commenting!

I have a variety of the Hand-hammered Sabian's, they are some of the best I've ever played- suitable for any style of music.
I was a dedicated Zildjian guy, but I LOVE my Sabians. I also have a couple of Sabian's 1st crash cymbals, and they are classic!

That is an 18" Sabian ozone crash. Sooo sensitive. I just look at it, and it makes beautiful sounds. I LOVE that thing. Thanks for watching!
