I knocked on this door after driving through the neighborhood. The homeowner was shocked when I said I would do it for free. He asked me a second time if it was free and I assured him it was 100% free.

Wow, Brian, you not only did that guy a big service, you did the entire neighborhood a favor! The surrounding yards appeared to be very neat and clean. We never know what someone is going through and I can see how overwhelming that might have been for the occupant. Hopefully, he'll be able to maintain the yard now. Some people just do not care what their yard looks like. It's neither good nor bad, they just don't care. It gives the guys a yard to clean up and all of us something to watch, so I guess it's good. 😉😂

So true, I did notice those 6-16-foot tall fences from a few neighbors that have been there for awhile now. That was also a weird place for a door.

A fantastic transformation, as always. For me as a former gardener a yard is always some kind of business card for my neighbours, relatives and friends. So it´s hard for me to understand why owners of a very neat property are able to neglect their whole yard like this. It´s always a mystery to me. Just my 2 cents. I laughed out loud when you found the mini trampoline and bounced! You never know what you will find. Awesome edging, trimming and getting the yard back in shape. He has a clean slate to plant some foundation shrubs now. Great job Brian!

The guy who answered the door sure looked Capable of maintaining his yard. I'm a 62 yo Disabled Veteran who served 20 years I suffer from mobility issues and pain due to injuries incurred on duty and numerous orthopedic surgeries and have Dialysis 3 days a week i can't do all my yard work in one day so i do it incrementally shrubs and flowerbeds one day, lawns and edging the next once it's SET UP for maintenance it's not that hardn

Fantastic transformation as always, Brian! You always go above and beyond and it's always a pleasure to watch. You have a gentle nature and never set in judgement of anyone who has an overgrown yard. We never know what people may be going through that prevents them from doing what needs to be done but their mind is on something else that is far more important at the time. Nobody buys a nice home in a nice neighborhood with no intention of keeping it up. Anyway, your kind deed is greatly appreciated by the homeowner. If I were a neighbor I would surely ask if there was anything I could do to help like mow the yard or whatever because obviously something is going on within the family. Life chores can overwhelm when one is in a depleted state inside and out the home. Looking at a huge job that stares you in the face everyday day can send one further down the emotional hole😢 I love the world where the judgment is suspended and a helping hand is extended❤ Thankyou wonderful human😊
That was a good idea promoting some online therapy. A lot of people still have traumas from the past four or more years. Glad you keep your eyes out in your community and keep giving people a boost as you can. (Laughed with the trampoline.) Going to guess this will be a Restoration, putting back in place the nice design lines of the home. You edged the curb, are taking out seedling trees...it was really important to make the backyard navigable again, you put in the work and they have a huge recovery of usable space. Enjoyed watching your work. Noted you had "dry dusty" conditions plus wind. Excellent results.

I admire your work ethic and commitment to help others Brian. you not only do lawns for free but you tackle the insane ones no one else would touch. I love hearing the sound of the mowers and trimmer. Am I the only one? LOL. I can relate to those that can no longer care for their lawn. I use to work in mine from sunup to sundown. I received much satisfaction from it. medical issues arrived so I downsized to an apartment. Now I sit and watch others do yard care. Be sure to take ample time for yourself.

Your a one man wrecking crew when it comes to helping people out in difficult times. I have a lawn care business myself over 30 years doing commercial and residential helping some people out as neighbors helping neighbors. I have a large work force that one day a month I'll have my crew do one homeowner lawn that really needs so maintenance free of charge. I do it all edge sidewalks, mow, trim bushes and trees, put down mulch and if I have some leftover flowers plant them for the homwowner if I can put one of my signs up for a week showing people our work saying "Neighbors helping Neighbors."
