Another gorgeous walking tour this day. Thank you for walking and informative discussion during the walk. Always enjoy it. See on the next. Cheers Ron! 🇬🇧🙂👍🇺🇸
My gosh Ron, you worked hard there both filming and research, nice to see you rewarded with loads of finds. Wonderful adventure but you took a few risks trying to get through, I have my heart in my mouth half the time. Thanks for making the effort. Ron
That's the one I've been waiting for Ron, thanks so much. I once waited for a bus at a crossroads in Andoversford for hours, misreading the schedule as usual. If I'd known Cheltenham was only 5 miles away, I might have walked it! James in Canada
Great explore! I remember walking across part of the trackbed near the reservoir when I was doing the Cotswold Way. Thanks for showing me what I missed. Cheers Ron, Take care, Paul
Such great opportunities to take old railway lines and turn them into walking, biking and hiking paths. Seem just like here that many are left for far too long and get reclaimed once again by nature. We do have some nice rails-to-trails though, so they're not all being lost.
Sustrans are carrying out a feasibility study on this section, from Cheltenham to Bourton on the Water. I certainly think Andoversford to Bourton is possible (having walked about two thirds of it). There is also a group looking to create a greenway from Bourton to Kingham, again possible subject to landowner permissions.🙂
Your persistance paid off, discovering with traces of the former station and two splendid bridges. Difficult to see the justification for infilling the second of the two, which looks in reasonable condition, even though it's pretty inaccessible from below. Not much local interest in making it into a greenway by the looks of it, with bridges demolished and embankments levelled and planted with Hawthorn.
@@Penryhigginbottom the railway tunnel runs from near the top of tunnel hill and exits somewhere in Sandywell Park. If you check back through my videos, I walked from the old viaduct embankment site back to the southern portal of the tunnel. It has been inaccessible for a long time.🙂
@@abandonedrailwaya2470 Thanks, I have found and watched your film on the tunnel. As memory serves I got beaten by horse flies and nettles when I tried. I’ll have a look for the other end when I’m passing through. Thanks 🙏

Thank you, Martin. Cheers 🇬🇧🙂👍🇺🇸
Thanks Ron please keep up the good work can remember exploring some of these places including the station site before it was built on.
Cheers, Glynn🙂👍

Cheers, Ron. Unsettled week coming up, then drier and warmer from next weekend. Fingers crossed! Ron.

Not to mention the missing viaduct at Dowdeswell.,
Do you know why the road from here down to Cheltenham is referred by yokels as tunnel hill? I’m yet to find a tunnel
