Yes definitely, the reason many of these killers are who they are is because of their childhood unfortunately which isn’t their fault that they end up that way, it’s the childhood that screws them up and it’s not an excuse but it is the reason, they don’t know any better you know
@@phangirlable you’re just invalidating so many people when you say “so many other people have it worse” it’s probably one of the most fucked up things you can say to someone who’s suffering. This man even though he is far from a good man had a horrible child hood can you deny that? You can say others had it worse which is true but you’re acting like the neglect that happened to him and others is ok because there are “worse” things out there. I know (well I hope) that’s not how you meant it but please think of what you’re saying, I have multiple incurable diseases that are very painful, scary, and have fucked up my life a lot but I get told (not all the time it’s pretty rare for someone to say this but when they do it sticks with me for a long time) “at least you don’t have cancer” or “well you have it better than someone with cancer” yes obviously I don’t have cancer but still these diseases have completely fucked my life up and I’m sure those people don’t mean it but saying things like that, that someone has it worse than someone who is suffering in their own way will very much hurt them. I apologize for ranting or being annoying if I was but I just want to help others understand that statements like those can really hurt. Thank you for reading and dealing with me have a great day or night!
This is quite literally the definition of, evil isn't born, it's made. However, his actions are entirely inexcusable and I'm so happy that the victims' families got justice.
I don’t think a lack of love makes a murderer on its own. I think it was largely due to his own choices and actions and addictions he himself chose. I’d say he had a sad childhood but it wasn’t even tragic or particularly damaging outside of emotional neglect which is, don’t get me wrong, terrible but like… comparing him to other cases if that is his cause for what he did it’s not even close to what the majority of other serial killers went through as kids and young adults to break their mental to that point. Murder is the worst crime imo and emotional neglect is not a strong enough thing to go through to make it there
@@pree76 Idk why it matters. People are a combination of genetics and environment, there's nothing else that can even theoretically influence what someone does, and you don't have control either way. Even if people were somehow born evil, which doesnt really make sense unless you are talking very casually and intuitively, that's just as sad as people being made evil by other people. When you get mad at people for being evil you are just coping with the cruelty of the universe and pretending people can control what happens in it
@@Kushufy People very much can control what happens on this planet, actually we have more influence than any other species by far. To suggest everything is out of our control especially CHOICES we make is absurd. People can simply make horrible, wrong, good, and interesting choices and believe it or not there is sometimes where neither environment or genetics don’t play a part. Getting hurt, having damage done to the brain, accidents that happen I wouldn’t really call the environment shaping you. That’s more so in reference to gaining morals, ideas, ways of speaking etc from those around whether it’s through just normal things or something like trauma. I think for the most part people are the accumulation of their genetics and environment but this persons genetics not environment really predicted the outcome because at the end of the day we have free will. We can simply choose to do the wrong thing no matter what we were taught or if our parents were good people or not.
@@pree76 You're asserting things without explaining how they can be true. Free will makes no sense, even theoretically. We have literally known this for thousands of years. There's two proposed ways something can be caused to happen, deterministically (as a reaction to something else) or randomly (for no reason whatsoever). No person on earth has ever been able to explain any third mechanism, and all theoretical science views the world either through determinism or randomness. If you think you're more intelligent than quantum scientists and somehow knows about something not a single one of them can understand, you are schizophrenic.
His mother is horrible; first, she refused to accept that he was gay, which she shouldn't even have an opinion on because she didn't even raise him, and second, she got up and left his drag show; why would you agree to go then? *I am not excusing his actions.*
Why just blame the mother. They were terrible parents who didn't give him the care he needed. He hurt her other children and yet she gave him another chance. While his father gave him a chance only so that he didn't have to pay child support.
There is a Serial Killer on the loose here in Brazil and his name is Lazaro. Please cover up this case when he is caught, it's been weeks and he's still on the loose and police cannot find him. @@ImSakina_ not true, psychopathy doesn’t always lead to murder or other crimes, it’s only a risk factor. Most serial killers deal with a combination of upbringing issues as well as mental illness, it’s very rare that it’s just one or the other. I truly do think the adults in his life failed him. But that being said, there’s no excuse for what he did.
That story about the Drag performance really is heartbreaking. Obviously, nothing about his upbringing excuses him… but, I can’t help but empathize with that young performer being crushed by his own mom.
Its heartbreaking to know that even the slightest bit of compassion and care in a single person’s life could have meant that 18 people wouldn’t have been murdered.
Bullshit. No one who isn't a total psychopath does what this monster did. There are many serial killers who had normal upbringings and had people who loved them. They are simply not human and couldn't feel love or compassion if it hit them in the face.

It’s crazy how some people become victims of their upbringing and go forth in the world to become as horrible as possible and others do all they can not to let that define them, but rather try to change and not be anything like their former caregivers.
And then, there are the ones who have a perfectly normal upbringing! It is absolutely crazy how a serial killer could literally just be ANY random person walking down the street 🤯🤯🤯

@@totalrevengeance3904 Look, I get that you want to believe in the good in people and that psychopaths are a scary concept but studies on the brain of psychopaths and serial killers (who are psychopaths) have shown that this is a condition in the brain (or more precisely, certain areas in the brain are not very active/pretty much dead). And yes, people are born with that just like they can be born with other brain conditions (something mostly regarded as positive for example: being highly gifted in math) or the condition can be caused by certain areas of the brain being damaged when sustaining a head injury/having a tumor etc. There are plenty of psychopaths who grew up in perfectly normal homes who showed psychopathic behavior very early on and even started to kill as children. And yes, the thought that you could have a child that is just born evil is very scary. But it happens (thankfully pretty rarely). It also happens with people being born as pedophiles (not a very well known fact but pedos usually start molesting kids when they hit puberty, as in that could be your 12 - 14 year old dear son, not just when they have become creepy old dudes).

@@ImSakina_ no ... I’m not... his upbringing plays a part in how he grew up... that isn’t the case for everyone... but if you pay attention to how he was brought up and how his killings were done you can see a correlation
@@phangirlable you’re literally under every comment calling the murderer a psychopath. He is showing more signs of being a sociopath than a psychopath (sociopathy is made so like Ed Kemper who had an abusive mother, psychopathy is born with so like Ted Bundy who had a healthy family life etc) but since the killer here was not particularly diagnosed with anything, it looks like the cause was all the neglect and abandonment. It also means that his guardians were partly responsible for what happened for not socialising or nurturing their child. The killers who are not straight up psychopaths, always have some sort of butterfly effect thing happening to them (bullying, abuse, SA, ptsd, mental illnesses etc) so, feeling some sort of empathy for the killer is not so unjustified 🧍🏽♀️
It’s always weird when I find myself saying “poor guy” during the backstory of the serial killer’s life. I have to remind myself that this person became a vicious murderer.
" The first 7 years are the most important years of every child as they set the basis for overall success in life. They are also very important for every society as this is the best chance to influence future prosperity, inclusiveness and social stability. "
obviously there's no excuse for murder of any kind and i hope the victims of these crimes are resting easy... but personally i can't help but feel bad for thierry too in ways, and find this tragic in so many more manners. i know it can seem easy to simplify things into individual people who've commited these kinds of crimes as being "evil", "monsters", "incapable of empathy", etc, but cases like this really evidentiate in just how many ways homophobia, racism, the prospect of poverty (/capitalism), and drug addiction can negatively affect society, beyond what's more easily visible.
He WAS a an evil monster incapable of empathy and you can't believe anything he has ever said about his own life. Psychopaths always think themselves to be "victims" and "wronged" by everyone.
@@phangirlable he literally was wronged by others though regardless of the horrible things he did lol. the world isn't black and white and neither are people. again needless to say that doesn't justify torture and murder, i just feel like that's too much of a convenient point of view so that ppl don't feel the need to look at certain societal problems and their effects, like i said.

@@MarshmallowFudgeUp lol You don't get it, do you? Some even start to kill as children. But the funniest (would be funny of it wasn't so sad and lead to dozens of serial rapists and killers being released from prison and going back to killing) thing here is that you believe what the serial killing psychopath said about his childhood and his experiences. All serial killers/psychopaths are pathological liars. They lie about everything, including inconsequential things for sh*ts and giggles.

Eleanor has covered that story it was a while ago though. I think 2 or 3 years ago maybe longer.
That one might actually be on the list of cases she does not intend to cover. From what I understand, she wants to bring light to lesser known cases. I know it might be a bummer for those of us who can't get enough but it is a good thing she's dedicated herself to.
yeah she doesn’t cover popular/more known cases anymore I don’t think
Started watching other true crime youtubers and they just dont compare to Eleanor's story telling!
thanks for amazing content :)
too true i can’t watch anyone else
her + bella fiore are my favourites the others just don't hit the same
If you want another amazing youtuber to watch (that actually collaborated with Eleanor) I would recommend Brooke Makenna. Her storytelling is great as well! Mollie Westbrook is also amazing. If you're looking for more thorough, investigation-like videos, Stephanie Harlow is really good
eleanor & bailey sarian are my faves
Georgia Marie is also amazing, plus she does very good historical videos!! 😌
Could you go over the Elizabeth Fritzle case? This is a missing person case, not a murder case. She was kidnapped and kept in the basement by her father for 24 years and her father just did horrible things to her. I’d be really interested to see how you cover this case! ❤️
i think she did it
Eleanor, Brooke McKenna and Dark Curiosity all in one afternoon. All three are great story tellers
Dangerously self righteous and sadly I can relate. Poor guy. I'm sorry he had such a bad life :(

When you're cooking dinner and think ah I wish I had a new true crime video to watch while I eat. And there it is. Eleanor always delivers 😁🙏❤️ much love from Portugal ❤️
Your shiny glossy hair are distracting. How do you have such gorgeous hair? Teach me your ways lady.
Function of beauty.
Yea function of beauty, it's all she uses on her hair
yeah it’s weird cause my hair has been falling out from using it
@@laurenisdead814 lots of people have said that!
@@laurenisdead814 the price point put me off to start but also the claims from so many people saying it’s causing their hair to fall out is just the icing on the cake
As a mother I can’t imagine walking out on my children and missing their lives because they love someone of any or no gender and I raise them talking about relationships and whoever they date and fall in love with that all I ask is they treat each other with kindness and respect I just want to see my kids happy it would destroy me if any of them felt they couldn’t come to me or that I was missing out on their lives because I didn’t agree with who they are… like kids aren’t custom made to order.
You forgot that Jean-Thierry Mathurin, got out in 2009, as a Student in Paris, I’m kinda scared even though he is 55 years old

Dude is a coward for targeting people who are incapable of fighting for their life
There are many "morals" to this story, but the one that sticks out to me is, be careful of who you're rude to. It could make you a target.
I will never excuse a serial killer but the chain of events of his life promoted his horrific lifestyle. It all starts from neglect.
Serial killers shouldn't get "minimum" sentences, they should get life without the possibility of parole.
I agree! That shouldn't even be said...
Did Eleanor just upload 7 minutes ago? Yes
Are there comments from 12 minutes ago? Yes
hello fellow eleanor fans. i hope everyone has a wonderful day and i hope you are taking care of yourself! 🥰
Back at u and God bless😍😍
Thanks lovely, and the same to you 🥰🌟☀️✨
Thanks Brandyyy! and Ditto! ☺️
“The only thing we’ve learned from history is that we don’t learn from history.” Racism is still alive and thriving
Racism now and 100 years ago is no were near the same.
@@thanos7110 doesn't mean it isn't still bad. It shouldn't be there at all
@@thanos7110 nobody said it was the same
@@samanthaengle5047 he was the one that suffered from racism
shut up about racism, this is a bloody murder case
Him and drag looks so magically enchanting you can tell he was at his happiest….rip to all his victims
I just gotta say, Eleanor you are looking SO good recently. girl u are glowing
I love your videos and how you are respectful of the family’s and victims.
Not excusing him at all because what he did was awful and horrible - and going after old ladies and beating them, torturing them and killing them so brutally like that? Like damn dude.
But on the other side I wonder what would have happened if he had had the more important people care and be accepting and supportive of him. :/ Maybe he would of still turned out to be this serial killer. Maybe not. Who knows. :/
I'm glad this other dude won't get out either.
EDIT:
I'm not excusing this dude. Like no.
My trail of thought was more in a different universe, world, reality, would he still have been a serial killer if XYZ had happened. Or was this dude just born a serial killer? That's what I meant. Hopefully this makes better sense. 😭
Mmmmm idk. He was born effed up. His shifty past isn't an excuse to rob, torture and kill. No.way.
@@Melicious8675 i don’t think they’re excusing his actions, just speculating how much his upbringing and early life effected his later life and his motivation to murder. the nature vs. nurture debate is a big one.
Or maybe the too young sperm and egg were to blame!!
This was exactly my train of thoughts like had he had stability in his life maybe he wouldn’t have such bottled up aggression towards old women(I’m also not excusing his actions nor am I shifting the blame) But being emotional deprived through out your life by the same people who are suppose to love you leaves a different kind of scar. This is also reiterated by fact that he only attached “mean” old women.
@@lethuthandomaphalala3357 'Mean' in his view!!
I wonder how different Thierry's life would've been, had his parents decided to put him up for adoption, maybe all of these murders wouldn't have happened.
✨Love days when it's raining, cold & grey, cuddling my big teddybear baby man & true crime vids. Nothing better. Thank you gorgeous! ✨
this is sad all around. he could have been an lgbtq+ icon if he had a proper upbringing and didn't turn to drugs and murder
Born at the wrong time. He'd be more loved now
I’m in a parking lot waiting for my uncle to get out of his drs appointment and I was losing my mind after being here for like 3 hours was about to drive off but now I can wait another hour 😂
