I beat Spider-Man: Miles Morales last night. I’m really enjoying Insom’s Spider-Verse. I loved the Tinkerer as a character, and visually. I can’t wait for Spider-Man 2, especially with what’s setup in the end credits of 2018 and Miles.
The conclusion of the postcard hunt after the story was an emotional gut punch I wasn't ready for. The idea of hearing a deceased loved one's voice long after they've passed away really hit home. And that final message... Jesus. Amazing work.
I cried multiple times playing this game and by the end i was running around my room screaming at the spiderman 2 moment at the end....been a spidey fan since a kid growing up on toby and honestly never understood why representation mattered in entertainment but this game connected w me on a whole another level. It got extremely personal when even the best friend resembled my best friend from my childhood...this may be thr most important peice of media ive ever been apart of so much so tht im seriously trying to figure out how to send personal thank yous to the ppl at insomniac this rlly touched my heart in places i didnt know were possible for a video game. Miles is MY Spider-Man
I cried so hard at the end of the game. I think having that message and presence of community was something we all needed at that time. I cried even harder after the credits with the dedication to Chadwick Boseman
Just finished and my god what a amazing game. I know ppl want a longer game but I think the experience was so tight and focused. Reminds me of Shawn Laydens statement that Triple A games will shift to smaller scale experiences and this would be the perfect example of that thinking. If we can get something like this every 12-18 months I'll take it. Great Job Insomniac!

The way Insomniac managed to improve on things that were already great in the first game, like web-swinging, is so insane. As for the story, I LOVE that we found out Phin was the Tinkerer like right away. The second I saw her and Miles asked what she was up to, I knew it then and there. And insomniac knows that, so I appreciate that they didn’t drag the reveal, unlike Arkham Knight... I also think boss fights were handled better here. I loved the Prowler fight. Thought it was really cool! I think the story was really great and while I found most of it to be predictable (except Phin’s outcome), it was all done so well that I loved it. As someone who cherishes the first game and beat the campaign countless of times, I still gotta get used to Pete’s new face. I get why Insomniac did it but man I feel for that actor who got replaced...
Loved the boss fights in this game. I thought the first game they were too easy because they went for a more cinematic vibe if that makes sense, and I was glad to see them keep that awesome presentation and increase the challenge in this one.
This video has been sitting in my queue for months. Finally picked up the game on sale this last weekend and blew through it. Loved the story and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
As a Boricua I loved this story and all the little decorations and attention to detail, even the food looked accurate and delicious. All the decorations around the house and the wooden coqui’s around the house.
I am not deaf, nor have I ever met somebody who was, but Miles casually using ASL while passing the street artist made me tear up for some reason. Just showcases the love and inclusiveness from the game as a whole, in big and small ways. Well done, Insomniac.

I love how you can tell that Insomniac pours so much love into their games and they really try to make the best game possible. This game rocked, and I'm with Greg that it is better than Spider-Man 2018 and that they learned so much. I am beyond pumped to see how they keep iterating with the next game.
I’ve been noticing that 10 hour campaigns plus the high price are part of the criticism it’s receiving. But I’m 28 yo and married so a 10 hour campaign feels great for me. That way I can go to TH-cam and watch spoilercasts without spending 40 hours plus on campaign alone. I wonder if it’s just me or if there’s actual research on demographics and how people feel about campaign lengths based on their age and the time they have.
10 hours is perfect for me personally from a superhero action game. I’m glad that I don’t need to play every single day for 2 weeks straight just to wrap up the story
Lol as a teen who just works. This game felt short but I was able to prolong the whole story for 2 weeks. Literally did like 1-2 hrs a day on random stuff bc ik it was gonna be short but I feel like Spiderman ps4 was the perfect time length.
Had such a connection with this game and genuinely cried at certain parts of it. The only negative is that I'm already disappointed at the thought Miles and Harlem won't be the focus of Spiderman 2! Haha

I loved the game. It definitely could’ve been longer but not just in the sense that they just should’ve added more stuff but some of the story stuff just needed more room to breathe and develop. Especially the relationship of the main villain and Miles. I think it would’ve been more impactful if there was more buildup there.
I loved the game but my big problem was w the prowler, he immediately knew that it was Miles, and then when they meet he immediately reveals he is you know who, it was really quick.
I liked all bits of Miles minus Phin and The Tinkerer. Her character didn’t feel earned nor did her motivations. I feel like development was taking too long and they just kinda needed to wrap it up. The first half and second half felt very differently paced.
I will say that it’s incredibly obvious that the Tinkerer is Phin and I was glad that the reveal happened fairly early on. I felt like my intelligence was not insulted compared to Arkham Knight which was touted as a new character, but I knew from the first time he spoke that he was Jason Todd with Troy Baker’s voice from the Red Hood DLC. The developers were up front with its audience and didn’t drag it out.
So far this is great but honestly can't wait till covid is over. Having these spoilercasts happen in a studio is so much better. These online ones make me feel like I'm sitting through a zoom class
I think KF should embrace these zoom type of calls for the future also even when the studio is back online. Connecting via the internet opens up them to having so many people quickly instead of waiting for them to find time in their schedule to visit the studio. This is a boon rather than a negative. This style of presentation feels absolutely fine to me.
They can go to the studio but are to liberal. Sorry they are friends who hang out all the time and go to target and Walmart on a weekly basis. So this is unnecessary if movies can film and I’ve been going to work everyday since covid started and no one at my work has gotten covid at all and we don’t wear mask at all.

Criticisms of Tinkerer’s motivations/actions, authentic representation of the police and their divides with minority communities, and his nagging feeling that Miles can’t get a full proper scale project. I would’ve love to see the back and forth of that discussion. But Blessing seemed scared lol.

Phin Mason sacrificed herself for Harlem and Rio Morales, not Miles who she had to drop from a ridiculous height lol. Miles would’ve been fine either way, just emotionally scarred if the blast killed them. I kinda wish this game started development in 2020, with full integration of everything that’s happened in this year and thus giving more believable motivations for Phin’s extreme actions alongside more weight to the drama. Their conflict could’ve been a more modern Xavier/Magneto one. At this point her character only makes sense if she had some kind of bad influence in her life that we/Miles never saw. Miles himself says Rick wouldn’t have liked her like this. Her kindness with Miles doesn’t gel at all with her extremism, it feels forced. Otto had a little bit of this problem too, but not as bad/apparent. People can’t talk crap about Naughty Dog’s writing not being up to snuff when others can’t match up to them.
I wish he had a different line other than "I am spiderman " when phin asked him a question at the end fight......to make it hit harder and more personal

Just finished this game and came here . Really got attached to phin as a character and blamed miles for not keeping contact with her after getting into high school which led to the sad and tragic ending . Damn you insomniac ❤️😭.
How is spiderman 2 gonna live up to miles morales? The venom powers were a game changer and so its gonna feel like a step backwards unless Insomniac comes up with new tech and or powers to make spidermans combat feel fresh and exciting

I admit I did not play Spiderman 2018, well not much of it anyhow on PS4. Miles Morales is AWESOME! My buddy and I played all day Monday & Tuesday while in party chat and both beat it. I went back Wed and got it to 100% completion and started a New Game+. The game being so great made me start playing Spiderman remastered also. I can't give enough props to this game. Amazing!
Just go my PS5 recently and played through Remastered and then Miles Morales fist thing. I love 2018 and really enjoyed replaying it, but that being said Miles just hit different. Right from the jump I had huge grin due to the music and the way Miles swings compared to Peter. Loved the story, loved that they pulled back on mini games, loved the combat and loved loved loved the characters.
PROS: Better sides quests, better side characters, better fighting, less challenges, no screwball, no maryjane, less crime, snow, holiday lights, cats CONS: Worse gadgets, worse costumes, worse story, shorter story, empty city, mini rip offs of spiderman ps4 moments Im surprised Miles never called Peter for help even after his mom's event was attacked, his uncle kidnapped him, he was on his way to get his friend killed, and the whole city was going to blow up. Peter would be on his way or call help from the Avengers tower at least. Phin didnt have to die.
Hope you will be able to switch between Peter and miles in the open world in Spider-Man 2. But have a couple dedicated main missions for Miles and Peter sort of have this tag team thing going on (maybe in stealth or combat encounters). But mostly a Peter Parker experience.
Aaron should’ve caught Miles from the sky as he was falling, like Hulk caught Tony in Avengers. They never really reconciled on screen either, after Aaron gave himself up to get Krieger locked up. But yea they had a great battle that actually made sense, but the spectacle of the final battle was insane, almost like them trying to go full Sephiroth. The synergy with character drama was better with Prowler, but the stakes and spectacle with Phin was ridiculous.
@@struanrobertson7128 2022-2023 if it’s a truly new game from the ground up without reusing 2018 assets. They also had Ratchet and Clank developed in parallel to these, so that’s insane to think about how big they must’ve grown.
How does the sign language work with localisation? Did they have to redo the animations for every region that the game is released in, or is it just that it's set in America so the characters use ASL?
Liked it, but it did have some narrative problems that Spiderman 2018 didn't have to me. First, the fact that everyone seems to know that he is a "kid". That everyone who gets to know that he is in fact the new Spiderman, don't seem to affected much by that information. That not one but two persons from his closets family/friend zone ended up being the super "villains". The Troy Baker character was corny as hell. Rhino seemed mischaracterized. And the new problem with mismatched faces and voices (Miles sounds a lot younger than he looks, and Peter looks younger than he is supposed to be). The kinda half assed BLM message (Police violence/corruption could have been a perfect fit for this story). I still got emotional in the end, and loved the family interactions in general and representation. Gameplay is still great, but Spiderman 2 needs to look more at the first game for inspiration when it comes to plot than this one. And of cause a bigger change in gameplay to keep things fresh.
Finally got a PS5 and Miles and beat it last night. So great! What a ride. My fiancee, who is usually lukewarm with a lot of superhero stuff, was so invested in this story. She was just as choked up as I was! She's ready to play the Remaster now and I couldn't be more thrilled!
I like the idea of future Sony first party games becoming shorter and more meaningful in how they put together the games and not bloating them, but I disagree with the 1 or 2 year cycle of Spiderman games coming out just because each release won't feel as special. See with Assassin's Creed or Call of Duty how each release doesn't feel as special a moment as if it were a 4 year wait time. I want experiences to be like this game was, but not happening annually or every 2 years.
I think it's because hes a little more down on the game. I wish we could have heard all of his thoughts because I have a feeling him and I would both complain about the rushed story telling and underdeveloped characters.

Only criticism: the Basketball at the end was weirdly huge haha. I loved every minute of this game, especially the 60fps mode. Next-gen is here!

Came back and finally finished miles morales it took me almost 3 year but it was so much fun can’t wait to play Spiderman 2 now!

Just finished this game and came here . Really got attached to phin as a character and blamed miles for not keeping contact with her after getting into high school which led to the sad and tragic ending . Damn you insomniac ❤️😭.
How is spiderman 2 gonna live up to miles morales? The venom powers were a game changer and so its gonna feel like a step backwards unless Insomniac comes up with new tech and or powers to make spidermans combat feel fresh and exciting

I admit I did not play Spiderman 2018, well not much of it anyhow on PS4. Miles Morales is AWESOME! My buddy and I played all day Monday & Tuesday while in party chat and both beat it. I went back Wed and got it to 100% completion and started a New Game+. The game being so great made me start playing Spiderman remastered also. I can't give enough props to this game. Amazing!
Just go my PS5 recently and played through Remastered and then Miles Morales fist thing. I love 2018 and really enjoyed replaying it, but that being said Miles just hit different. Right from the jump I had huge grin due to the music and the way Miles swings compared to Peter.
Loved the story, loved that they pulled back on mini games, loved the combat and loved loved loved the characters.
A great game can't wait for whatever follows
PROS: Better sides quests, better side characters, better fighting, less challenges, no screwball, no maryjane, less crime, snow, holiday lights, cats
CONS: Worse gadgets, worse costumes, worse story, shorter story, empty city, mini rip offs of spiderman ps4 moments
Im surprised Miles never called Peter for help even after his mom's event was attacked, his uncle kidnapped him, he was on his way to get his friend killed, and the whole city was going to blow up. Peter would be on his way or call help from the Avengers tower at least. Phin didnt have to die.

Hope you will be able to switch between Peter and miles in the open world in Spider-Man 2. But have a couple dedicated main missions for Miles and Peter sort of have this tag team thing going on (maybe in stealth or combat encounters). But mostly a Peter Parker experience.

I loved about 90%, for me, I wasn't a fan of the final boss and the villains motivations. BUT the Prowler fight is one of my FAVORITES. Rad game.
Aaron should’ve caught Miles from the sky as he was falling, like Hulk caught Tony in Avengers. They never really reconciled on screen either, after Aaron gave himself up to get Krieger locked up. But yea they had a great battle that actually made sense, but the spectacle of the final battle was insane, almost like them trying to go full Sephiroth. The synergy with character drama was better with Prowler, but the stakes and spectacle with Phin was ridiculous.
I want more superhero video games even if they are only the length of this game. Give me daredevil!

it was in development parallel to this with the original games director and team. my best guess is it will be out november 2021, so not long.

2022-2023 if it’s a truly new game from the ground up without reusing 2018 assets. They also had Ratchet and Clank developed in parallel to these, so that’s insane to think about how big they must’ve grown.
How does the sign language work with localisation? Did they have to redo the animations for every region that the game is released in, or is it just that it's set in America so the characters use ASL?
Probably the ladder, it is referred to as ASL, and the subtitles can be changed for whatever language.

Hes 17 in the game. Would probably be a little weird for that.

Shirtless Spider-Man was not Peter, so it would’ve been someone different. Who is a good pick though, that’s a good question.

Liked it, but it did have some narrative problems that Spiderman 2018 didn't have to me.
First, the fact that everyone seems to know that he is a "kid".
That everyone who gets to know that he is in fact the new Spiderman, don't seem to affected much by that information. That not one but two persons from his closets family/friend zone ended up being the super "villains".
The Troy Baker character was corny as hell.
Rhino seemed mischaracterized.
And the new problem with mismatched faces and voices (Miles sounds a lot younger than he looks, and Peter looks younger than he is supposed to be).
The kinda half assed BLM message (Police violence/corruption could have been a perfect fit for this story).
I still got emotional in the end, and loved the family interactions in general and representation. Gameplay is still great, but Spiderman 2 needs to look more at the first game for inspiration when it comes to plot than this one. And of cause a bigger change in gameplay to keep things fresh.

Finally got a PS5 and Miles and beat it last night. So great! What a ride. My fiancee, who is usually lukewarm with a lot of superhero stuff, was so invested in this story. She was just as choked up as I was!
She's ready to play the Remaster now and I couldn't be more thrilled!
Better than the first and it was awesome
This is an incredible game. I’m a couple of hours away from getting the platinum, I can’t wait for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

I like the idea of future Sony first party games becoming shorter and more meaningful in how they put together the games and not bloating them, but I disagree with the 1 or 2 year cycle of Spiderman games coming out just because each release won't feel as special. See with Assassin's Creed or Call of Duty how each release doesn't feel as special a moment as if it were a 4 year wait time. I want experiences to be like this game was, but not happening annually or every 2 years.

I think it's because hes a little more down on the game. I wish we could have heard all of his thoughts because I have a feeling him and I would both complain about the rushed story telling and underdeveloped characters.
