I have this gas cap and I agree it’s great. It’s so light that when I first bought it, I thought it was plastic. Works great. Thumb print can be quickly wiped clean with the heel of my hand. And for tank bags, the cortech low profile bag works great. It’s expandable, and when it’s fully extended I can fit a single bag’s worth of shopping in it, but when it’s zipped down it fits in with the size of the tank nicely. And it stores the rain cover in a separate zippered pouch. Good short little video!
I've got one on my speedmaster, only thing I would change is a bit of chrome skirting around the main cap ring that would hide the fuel tank lip and give it a more finished look that eliminates that hard edge.
Thanks for the review. It was exactly what I was looking for and for the same reason. I like to travel with my wife really light. We just bought a new 2022 t120 (red/silver) and have fitted it with a rear luggage rack/backrest. We no longer camp/tour. At our advanced age we go from one hotel to another. And the range limitations imposed by our aging backsides limits us to about 200-250 mile max per day. The only thing we really worry about rain. We are looking for a tank bag to hold our rain gear which is only the simplest rubber coated heavy duty cloth.(surprisingly it works amazingly well for rain protection and warmth) So this solution was ideal. With the tank bag and luggage rack we can take gear, water and GPS guidance in the form of our iPad or iPhone. We are range limited but still fully able to enjoy the sights and sounds of motorcycle touring. Thankyou!
I love the fact you have used the excuse to buy another tank cap as needing to fit a tank bag...... sounds similar to conversations I have with my wife when she appears home with another pair of shoes.... super vid..... a great watch after a stressful day..... keep them coming....🏍👍
I saw on the BBC news that Hull County Council are opening the Stuart Fillingham National Petrol Cap Collection. I look forward to a visit. Great video Stuart and lovely bit of kit.
Hey Stuart, I'll be getting tickets for that then. Loving these videos but makes my T120 feel very under-dressed! I'm not too keen on a tank-bag and also don't like using a rucksack so I'm exploring the various tail-packs at the moment. Will keep you posted.
Hi Paul (I got your Email!) Im sure you will start making her your own this year! yes do that Re the tail pack, unfortunately luggage is something that i struggle to get hold of for reviews but i will keep trying! thanks again for watching!
I put one on my 2009 Bonneville a few years ago. I chose the black version rather than the chrome. It blends in nicely when I go tankbagless and it well accommodates the tankbag.
Maybe not everyone's cup 'o' tea but I think it's a beautiful looking bit of kit. I really like the overall precision build quality and almost flush fitting effect. The only concern is that some beggar may also like it enough to lift it away but sadly that's the world we live in regardless. May I say, the T120 is looking Super Sparkly Spangly clean Stuart.... a real credit to you and all the hard work you place in owning and caring for such a nice machine. RSMF
Good point Mark but, i have plenty of other caps! lol, thanks for the complement on the bike, she will be getting a spring clean soon! Thanks for watching!
Couple more Confucius sayings for you,Stuart. "It does not matter how slow you go as long as you don't stop". And. "Roads were made for journeys, not destinations." Rather nice I think. Bikes looking good there, mate. Take it easy. Cheers
Just purchased this cap! Thanks for the video. British customs website does not say what bikes this fits! fingers crossed for my Triumph America and the console! especially after forking out $119 AUD - damn got a phone call not in stock, none in Australia and BC want $111 for shipping. no thanks.
I have a HD version of this for my '06 Ural. Fits well and it came with two O rings. It's not as quality dirven as the BC version. I am awaiting a Monza style cap to arrive so I can try that out. What are your thoughts on the Monza's? I think the retro look will look great on my Tourist.
What’s that make like 12? I rock a nice waxed cotton magnetic tank bag. Not the triumph one. I hate riding with a backpack so it’s for days when I need to carry stuff. Another great vid
I think it's quite useful, looks are awesome too. But better not go tightening it to amusement park levels it may take some skin off the fingers to open!
Before watching, I was thinking, "Isn't this about the fourth petrol cap now? Getting to be like ladies' shoes or handbags." Hadn't considered what a horrible social gaffe it might be to show up somewhere with an utterly inappropriate petrol cap -- horrors! Don't care for tank bags either.
I am led to believe the screw-in threads on the Triumphs and Harleys are the same but yet to have it confirmed, have you any idea if this is so. Thank you.
I picked up this cap from Lowbrow customs while I wait impatiently for availability of the Motone rippled cap. www.lowbrowcustoms.com/lowbrow-customs-domed-gas-cap-for-harley-davidson-1982-1995-modern-triumph-t100-scrambler-thruxton-aluminum.html
Disliked because video was too short. More petrol cap videos. Make them longer, too. Show us your petrol cap collection. Which petrol cap should I use if I am going to church on Sunday, compared to which petrol cap should I use to meet friends at the pub? We need to know.
Theres only so much you can say about a petrol cap Gerhard, Im glad you asked that question though, this cap is perfect for church classic and understated! you would need a big chunky Knurled one for meeting your mates, perhaps a manly brass one?

Thanks for sharing that Ojisan! and thank you for watching sir!
Ojisan642 you could use your tank bag to carry part of your filler cap collection.swap around at will👍🏻😂

And dont forget motorcycle etiquette! lol Thank Dave and thanks for watching!

Ah yes its taking pride of place at the Hull transport museum! lol Thanks very much Paul!

Hi Stuart, that’s a very neat filler cap. Very stylish and worth the money for the novelty value alone. It works really well. Impressed.👍🏻🏍
Thanks Mike!

Ah my theory holds water then! Thanks for watching Nigel!
Darn you Stuart! Now thanks to you I'm building my own fuel cap collection 😵
Well done Scot! perhaps we can compare collections sometime!

LOL Thank you Malcolm and thanks for watching!
Malcolm Smith yeah the filler cap looks well on Stuart’s bike which looked beautiful, as usual.
I would leave it with the cap up! Still looks very stylish.
I did consider that myself Steve but the OCD in me would keep making me push it back down!
Just bought one Stuart I’ve been looking at them quite a bit of late have a merry Christmas stay safe kind regards Phillip
I had a similar thing on a Harley sportster , I think for occasional use on my bobber it would be ideal , a big thank you for this video
Your very welcome sir! Thank you for watching!

Nice piece
I believe it was Descartes who said "I tank therefore I am". :))
Actually now i come to think of it, it might have been the guy out of Gremlins! my memory isn't what it used to be! Thanks for watching.

Very nice cap indeed! 😀
Thanks Mr Cotti!
Hi, does this fit the 2022 Triumph speed twin?
Very good video Stuart, it's a nice part, but I fall into the not for me camp, but thanks.
I'm with Robert Young on this one too Stuart. But as always, exceptional video and product info. Thanks.

Er no i think i only have 4?, plus the factory one! i prefer a tail pack myself. thanks for watching sir!
Does yours leak when you are cornering? Mne did so I ended up putting an old T100 cap on mine?
Not so far!
I think it's quite useful, looks are awesome too. But better not go tightening it to amusement park levels it may take some skin off the fingers to open!
Thank you sir!
Where to buy?link pleaseee

There a lot more to motorcycling than people think sir!
I am led to believe the screw-in threads on the Triumphs and Harleys are the same but yet to have it confirmed, have you any idea if this is so. Thank you.
Yes I have and they are!
@@stuartfillingham Thank you Stuart, much appreciated.
Which are the dimensions of the cap? Does it work on triumph thruxton EFI 2014?

Never understood tank bags either...
Yeah! who came up with that idea!
If only they made one in brass!
I agree Zach, we should petition all the custom parts manufacturers!
hello Stuart ,, you need to get yourself a thruxton mate it’ll cure your addiction problem 😉😉
Disliked because video was too short.
