Your views on cursive handwriting, resonates with me too.
The catch is, eventually, a child develops his/her own style of handwriting, irrespective of the fact , whether he/she has been taught print or cursive.
Yes, cursive adds on an extra pressure on the child.
Having said that, cursive helps in fine motor/ concentration/ eye hand coordination and boosts memory - as per psychology.
But this connection can be taught through print too...
And not through stick print letters, but through print *tail* letters.
As a child, i was taught cursive, and as much as I can recall, i never enjoyed writing. But print gave me peace. N it still does..
Print gives more clarity, i believe.
