    hello!
hope you can help me... My essay question asks "I argued in lecture that Platonic feminism was limited to the ruling elite of the kallipolis(i.e., the philosopher-kings/queens and guardian soldiers). Make an argument, based upon Plato’s theory and text, that this feminism is/should be extended to the entire kallipolis, including the producer class (i.e., farmers and craftsmen). This argument might take one of two general forms:
    2. On the other hand, you could agree with my interpretation but argue that Plato misapplied his own theory, i.e., that he should have extended his feminism to the entire kallipolis on grounds provided by his own theory of justice."
I am confused as to how it makes sense that Plato failed to apply his initial theory of justice (hierarchy, being okay with the order of things) in the context of feminism within the kalipolis. I understand he was focusing mainly on the elite for this feminism which again, I feel as that elitism is engrained within his initial theory of justice. in which case would mean that he did apply his theory of justice "correctly" since he did exclude the producer class.
if you could please help me with my essay question I would GREATLY APPRECIATE it since it is due at 6pm 3/12.
have a great rest of your day.

Am not a philosophy student, but i think Plato's model of feminism cant work when applied on the large scale. This is because of the way he handles the guardians as a sacred kind. We can even see this on how he distributes justice, the producer class work for the society and the elites/ guardians protect it. And the guardians shouldnt be corrupted in any way and their whole life is full of lies. You cant keep those lies when it comes to a large scale and i think it might have contributed on why he didnt spread it
Secondly, his feminism only worked for making women get educated. I dont support it because he thought women should be a communal good, extend that to the masses and no lottery should be taken since you cant manage when the general population engages in sexual activities and you can with the guardians.
