I do snap turns on my skateboard, it's really sad that most skaters forgot this turn even exists but great that surfskaters are keeping it alive in the parks.

Does it matter if you rotate off the back or off the front set of wheels? and is a backside snap basically just a fast and furious kickturn?
any recs for surfskate wheels that would slide well on quarter pipe/skatepark type of pavement?
Hey Shane, I’m not sure if you skate on a street deck at all but I’m having trouble deciding on a surf skate or a street deck. If you have any views on which one I should get first it would be great
Hey Kellen. If you already own a street deck. Getting a waterborne front (and back) adapter would be the cheapest and simplest option.
Else i would say get the full experience of a good surfskate

I think we need to differentiate Frontside and backside turns ins Surfskating vs Surfing. Surfing has it backwards and labels them according to how your body faces the wave. This is dumb. They should be called according to how your body is turning in relation to the direction you are traveling. A backside turn should be when your back is turning into the direction of travel and Frontside when your front is turning into to turn. Surfers got it backwards. Who cares if you are facing the wave or not, that just a reference to create confusion. Lets correct this and start calling a fronside turn when the front of your body is facing the turn arc and a backside turn when your back is facing the turn arc. Much better and how it should be.
so in this case, lifting the front wheel is not a must?
