Insurance is ur biggest friend with things like this just report the hit n run and have the other person pay the deductible you both win and insurance doesn’t go up unless the other person doesn’t have insurance then idk what to say😂😂
Still had a truck to drive out of there. Looks like phase 3 front end will have a little monetary help. Sucks but you still have a truck to drive and friends to help with the build.
Something similar happened to me about 2 years ago except it wasn’t someone’s rear end but a block of ice , I know the feeling lol 😆 but good excuse to get some armor up front !
I prioritized trying to get into reverse over the horn. Just wasn't quick enough. With anyone I feel like the horn could startle them and they'll just panic hit the gas harder or not react fast enough. I always just try to get out of the situation instead of relying on the other vehicle.
@@desertdime Just go long travel and be done with it lol. I probably have about 10k-15k into my build as it sits now after upgrades. In the beginning did it on a budget and took around 5ish years. My bedsides were $75 after selling my stock bedsides, my front glass was after selling stock bumper and fenders was 0 out of pocket, front total chaos kit used 2k (needed bushings plus leaky coilovers, probably 2.5 after I seals, bushings and shims), $500 used 2.5x16 smoothies (old rear shocks I have bypasses now), rear DMZ spring under I called Tim and worked a deal out. I got super cheap method NV wheels (I found a dealer/wholesale guy), Old GG Lighting light bars I got discounts just by asking (Now I get free KC lights). Everything I purchased was either my end goal or towards my end goal so I mostly only bought stuff once. Don't forget to email them asking nicely if they can work on the price worst they can say is no.
@LuisSanchez-dw7mt all depends on what you use the truck for/what type of off-roading you do. A lot of people online run their mouths about how 2wd is incapable and that you NEED 4wd to off-road and that’s simply not true. Most pre-runner, high speed, high desert guys use 2wd. Even some light mountain trails and overlanding can be done with 2wd. I have a few videos of me proving how far you can push a 2wd on some mountain trails and still make it up with the 4wd guys. But obviously you’ll hit a point where 4wd would be required
@@desertdime thanks for that. I don’t do my type of off roading like you guys do. All I do is take my family up to big bear during the snow so my fam can enjoy the snow up there but I get small nerves knowing I’m in a 2wd.
And that is why you always leave at least a car length between you and the truck you’re trailing with you never know what the person infront of you will do! Doesn’t matter if it’s a trail a wash a hill leave a space. This Sucks and I’d be mad to but onto bigger and better things dime🤘 could have been something worse
I typically pull up alongside the people i'm riding with. This was just a unique instance since we came up on a wash. Thought the pack was just slowing down to crawl into it, then they came to a complete stop.
You handled it pretty well. I would have been pissed. I hope he’s paying for the damages.
No one was being a dickhead about anything

I was just so thankful that it didn't touch the tire, wheel, and suspension! Like you said, she's still drivable after the accident
RIP to you and eric both beautiful trucks
damn that sucks, that why I want to put the metal guard and rock sliders on first...
Sorry to hear bro...I've just upgraded to a 2020 Tacoma TRD PRO and loving it! Maybe it's time for your upgrade!
That would be a downgrade with that 3.5
You're right, I had a 2nd gen SR5 4x2 and motor was so much better! Wish I can combine both
@@finderskeeperz8363 I would love the drivetrain of the 2nd gen with the 3rd gen body 🤙🏼

Is your Tacoma a 4x4?
No sir, 2wd
Mine is a 2wd. I’ve been really In deep thought of selling it and getting a 4wd.

Shit happens. Fiberglass baby
But what width is the question 🤫
Put some long travel and 35’s on it c’mon now
add an exhaust to your list
I have a Widow Maker muffler from Black Widow with an axel dump/turn down pipe before the axel
