IT is strategically superior to move diaginally foreward while sidestepping so your opponent will have more turning to do if he wants to hit you.Basicaly you should move like you are trying to get behind your opponent.Just my opinion.

We have plenty of videos showing the step you describe. This is the only one demonstrating the other version. Thanks.

Just a question here, why practising these sidestep standing square. Why not practise in the proper boxing stance?

Most of these examples are in a self defense context. You can practice it any way you want.

Vasyl Lomachenko uses this. So does Dominic Cruz.

Hi! Interesting. Maybe just silly questions, but:
    1) Is this system practiced somewhere in Russia?
    2) What makes it Russian?
    3) Is this your system?
    4) Are there stages/"belts" in this system? Are students graded, or does everybody do everything together no matter how long they've been in the system?
    Thanks for your time.

@@STORMCombatSystem Thank you very much for your time. I appreciate it and your truthful answers.
My input, if I may, on some of the above is, there is no reason for any system to be called Russian or Greek or American. Honoring the roots of a system by saying you practiced and have experience with Russian teachers that taught this and that, is more than enough for that. However, at the end of the day, it is YOU that tried to create something somewhat new and to take what others gave you to another level. I'm tired of all the nationalistic idolatry taking place in the martial world. That's just my perspective.
I understand the flashy name (money gimics that I don't like to be honest), but you don't need it; be free from it. What all systems need a simple name e.g. combative art (sometimes not even that!..) is a great grasp of what is needed for realistic fighting with untrained and trained attackers and capable teachers to inspire their students to keep growing in the art. If you have those two, in time you will have more students and more money, and surely, that's a good thing. -Every student should come to the point of being able to make his own system at least for himself; this is ideal.
Again, thanks for your time. Keep doing what you do best!!
