    The sound is crackling for the first 2 mins of the video, I'm so sorry. It does get better after that.
    I do note I'll have to be more careful when shooting outside next 😊

    Mama instant noodles are the best. I crack and egg into the pot before pouring on boiling water, by the time the water has cooled enough to eat without burning the egg and noodles are ready.
    Not poodle just doesn't come close!
    Did you get some pa'la? Not the stuff you get from Lotus, the pa'la you see in buckets at village markets that you can smell from 50 metres away!

    • @PoppyDontree
      @PoppyDontree  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I second that, they are the best! No didn't get one I already have a bottle of pa'la sitting in the back of my cupboard for the past year, probably even more fermented by now....yummy haha

    • @Sarge084
      @Sarge084 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PoppyDontree Did you realise that Worcestershire Sauce is made in a similar way?
      They use anchovies and other ingredients in a fermented process, but it's pasteurised to kill bacteria and stop the sauce fermenting any more!
      Walking round the local markets around Chaturapak Phiman can be a bit unpleasant for me when I pass the little old ladies with their buckets of ripe pa'la festering in the afternoon sun. I usually take a detour, hold my breath, or run past... or all three if the smell is really bad.

    • @PoppyDontree
      @PoppyDontree  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No didn't know that so kinda like fish sauce then? You make me laugh about the smell of pa'la because I know you're not even over exaggerating 😂

    Where in Thailand are you from?
    I have a place near Chaturapak Phiman in Roi et province.
    I wish I was as good at learning Thai as you are at learning English.
    Did you find any pa'la in that shop?

    • @PoppyDontree
      @PoppyDontree  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd say I'm from Bangkok because I spent majority of the time in Bangkok but also spent years up north in Lampang and Chiangmai too. Yes there was pa'la in that shop, the ones in bottle 😁. I'm impressed you know of it!
      Well thing is it isn't easy to learn Thai comparing to English I feel so I don't blame you. A lot more alphabets and vowels.

    • @Sarge084
      @Sarge084 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PoppyDontree Know of pa'la, you can't miss it in the markets, even if you don't see it your nose alerts you to its presence!

    Hey Poppy ! I actually enjoyed your video, very informative indeed. Can you please guide me regarding haul videos? I mean do youtubers need to take permission from the store owner for making haul videos ? I mean can they strike the videos been made if they are not informed? Thanks in advance. My good wishes to you.

    • @PoppyDontree
      @PoppyDontree  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It will vary from places to places. I feel small businesses may be a bit more understanding and more likely to give you a permission. With this video I called the shop before, told them I'd do a walk around and they were more than happy to have me there. On the Xmas shopping video I filmed at Sainsbury's, just walked in and got told off. They said next time I would need to get a permission from head office first which they probably won't grant me a permission anyway...🙄.

    Does anyone know if there were Asian grocery stores in Suffolk back in late 70s or early 80s? Do you know if it was special to a country or generally Asian? Am looking for history of far east Asian grocery shopping in UK, hopefully in Suffolk, but if you know of information of your area in that era, please let me know. Thanks. :)

    If you are ever out of London, and need to go shopping, the WIng Yip in Birmingham is awesome ! www.wingyip.com/our-stores/
    Like you, the Wing Yip starts with sauces as soon as you enter...and I counted about 40 types of Soy Sauce alone...before you get onto the other sauces...just an example of the awesomeness.
