Thank you Mark. Just replaced the door handle pull, I have a 2012 X3 and did not need to detach the cables around the speaker just the long cable attached to door handle, it allowed me to sit the door panel on a stand and I worked it out from there. My 10-yr. old son helped out while drilling and putting everything back. Thanks again.

You may find this amusing. I did the whole job until the part where you needed to drill out the moulded holes. I then opened my replacement product only to find that it had no holes attached. Turns out the item I brought was a simple handle that's slots in OVER the old unit that remains installed in the car. Bugger!!! All that for nothing. Great video anyway.

Mark, on our 2011 X3 ours had nothing but plastic rivets on the back, no screws at all. You don't happen to have a picture to show how you attached the self tapping screw to the plastic rivet do you?

Yes they are a lot simpler.
Just drill off the top of the melted rivets with a very large drill, to remove the old handle. Then drill an 1/8th hole in what remains of the plastic rivet. Then screw a metal self tapper with a washer in to hold the new handle in. MRT

Thanks Mark - is the rivet you drill out plastic or metal?

Great video perfectly done. Just one question EXACTLY WHERE DID YOU GET THE REPLACEMENT PULL HANDLE PIECE??? BMW say they only sell the entire new door card and that is ridiculously long wait given I have tan leather and then a ridiculous price tag of $960 AUS. I just need a new pull handle for my f25 x3 2014 bmw (Australian). I don’t want some BS ill fitting Chinese crap (ideally)

Hi There, So far as I know BMW only supplies the whole door card. So to replace the part you have to get Chinese copy. I have included links in the description now so you can get the same. The fit on it was spot on by the way.

I went for the cloned piece off eBay. Better to have it darn close and not “factory sticky”! Thanks for the video mate, I’ll be trying it this weekend!
