No. The story is one Lord Hayagriva was a demon who stole the Vedas. But Vishnu caught him and turned him over to Brahma for cleansing. Brahma, satisfied with the change in Hayagriva, made him the Deva he is today.

Goddess Kaushiki is known as Devi Maha Saraswati. Brahma is the male form of Goddess Maha Saraswati and Goddess Saraswati is the female form of Goddess Maha Saraswati. Goddess Adi Shakti (The Supreme Mother Goddess) incarnated as Goddess Kaushiki aka Goddess Maha Saraswati to create the Omniverse. So in some point of view he is correct that actually Goddess Saraswati's slayed Sumbh and Nishumbh.
Madhu and kaitabha were slayed by lord Vishnu with the help of yog nidra or you can say maha Maya that's why lord Vishnu is called madhu Sudan
