Awesome! When you have a bad shot in a snapper it is often best to let them run and find a place to park up in the kelp/rocks then you can dive on them and grab them. your shot didn't look too bad either by the way, it had gone through a lot of fish!
Cheers! I had that exact thought when editing the footage. I probably could have let it find its way to the bottom and swum down and grabbed it. Will keep that in mind for the future!
Beauty, congrats on the pb mate!! what a great haul. Still yet to even see a kingfish or a snapper while shorediving in the lower north no access to a boat and I told myself I was going to either catch or spear a kingi this year. Feel like it would be a northern mission. Thanks for the quality content man loving it!
based in Wellington good to see and hear they are still hanging around up there. Any areas you would recommend shore diving from?@@gpfishingadventures7834
Good to hear & see that they are still around. Based in Wellington are there any areas in particular you would recommend for a kingi shoredive@@gpfishingadventures7834
great haul with the spear gun that pb snapper is a nice size fish, u worked very hard to get that perfect shot. a shame you lost the chance on the kingfish. so annoying that they tease you and dash off.
Great video mate! You were a little unlucky with the kings as mentioned we where doing well on the yaks behind you and they were pack hitting our live bait. Great work on the Pb nice to see how those bigger snaps move and feed from under the water!
@@KingsWithAndy cheer man! Yeah bit unlucky not to run into more kings out there, but that's just how it goes sometimes. The snapper made up for it at least. Tight lines 🤙🏽
Amazing video! Made my evening 😊 A question you probably have heard a lot, but I couldn’t find anything specific on your channel. What kayak do you have? I have been fishing of my kayak quite successful lately as well and was thinking to update to one with foot paddles to make my missions not that big of a struggle for my arms anymore… would be great to know your setup (kayak, foot paddles etc.) Cheers 😊
Thanks mate! I pedal an Old Town Predator PDL. They're made by the same manufacturer of Ocean Kayaks. I love mine to bits. Mine is pretty stock standard. The only changes I have made is replace the stock pedals with some mountain bike ones. I think the larger surface area, and sturdiness of them makes for improved pedal performance. It's not a necessity though. These are great kayaks out of the box. And yes, the pedal-based kayaks take a lot of pressure off the upper body, which means more energy for pulling in those fish! Cheers!
Mega shot at the end
My man ❤

Cheers mate! Not sure how far South you are, but they sure are plentiful up these ways at the moment - might be worth the drive!

Was also great to have a catch-up on the water…. Fun meeting like minded crazy addicted yakers!
