And watching something makes you part of it too. That is why a live audience is participating on a classical orchestra performance, and "just watching" child pedo vids is still criminal sex abuse of a child, or knowing your partner was harming children and not reporting it because "family forgives/works it out" is a cps case on both parents. There are no "innocent bystanders" in life. -
I heard a stat from a study done on how people acted durring sudden emergencies from non fatal incidents on planes. About 10% of people went into a type of shock and (froze) impeded emergency evacuation or aid bc they were in denial/arguing/hysterical yelling or crying, not following rules or directions. (Blocked aisles, grabbed luggage, denied emergency was real, argued with flight staff or those giving directions, tried to physically fight people or even shove ahead of people)
About 10% of people (this excluded trained flight attendants) immediately jumped into action and took calm and decisive command, some angrily yelled directions or physically took control of the first 10%, but they all did something to direct others to safety, rendered or organized aid - they did something to try to help and they did it quickly. Sometimes, it was just repeating instructions from flight attendants, sometimes there was no flight attendant around and they just decided what best course of action was themselves/they spontaneously offered directions.
The remaining 80% paused a bit longer before reacting but they reacted as more of a group (flight & fright) meaning they might have still been crying or hysterically screaming but they still took decisive actions to evacuate and often just followed whatever directions they were given. The study said that freeze group was the least likely to survive and could have actually contributed to injuries and deaths.
The study never explained how many were deniers and gaslighters after the fact about what actually happened durring the plane emergency. I think there needs to be a 4th group to Fight, Flight, Freeze and add: (I am not sure which F word works the best) Furtive or Falsify or Fabricate or Fabilist or F-heads
Adults who are unmotivated lollygaggers, or "to afraid" to report a crime they witnessed or learned of after they get to a safe place are just cowards. They tell themselves they are still good people and "just don't want to get involved in something that isn't their business" or maybe that they are "shy" and "don't want trouble" or "hate conflict" but they are still cowards. Cowards who are too cowardly to even confront themselves, who lie yo themselves everyday and everytime they look in a mirror or reflect on the type if person they are and who continue to do nothing to improve their own character because they think being a good person means helping s neighbor mow their lawn if carrying groceries or going to church.

Guy had 20 years to prepare and he tried pulling the Shawshank.
The last hearing... this is why people need to watch who they date while on paper. That woman should be criminally charged for her false reporting.

He took victim awareness? Her family will be victims for the rest of their lives. He obviously didn't learn anything from the program. If he was to be believed, and he wasn't by me or most of the board, and if he really had only minimal involvement, he would have been aware of the devastation this caused her family.
