If you’re able to you should also do exam prep vids for photoshop and indesign. Honestly I’d watch any of your videos on the softwares and the functions. Theres so many different functions and buttons and options that I never knew I could do with all of their softwares. This video is awesome! So helpful to me as a graphic designer. I’m in college but they literally never sit down and show you the tools of the softwares. It’s basically a figure it out yourself thing.
I do have a question - do you know what it means when for whatever tool I pick I just get a pecil tool cursor with a little crossed-over circle (ghostbusters-sign) next to it? It won't let me draw or do anything on the canvas. The layers are not locked, there are no windows waiting for ok or anything like that. It makes a "no go" beep for every try to click/draw on the canvas. I get the feeling it's a bug, but as I only have Illustrator since two weeks ago, I am not sure. The only thing that stops it is to close the program all together, restart the computer (!!), and make a new project. And no, not the computer's fault! it's a new (2021) computer, Acer, and pretty strong on graphics. Never had a problem with other graphics programs, or even big godzillas like DaVinci Resolve. Would love to get a clue as to a cure for this, as it tends to piss me off 🤣(has stopped me flat three times alredy!).
Hi! I think I know what the problem is. If you're trying to use one of the brushes, and you get that symbol, that means that you haven't selected a brush to use yet, so it won't let you draw anything. Open up the brushes panel (go to windows), and select one of the brushes from the library (click on the file folder icon on the bottom left of the panel). That should do it! Let me know if it worked or not, and we can trouble shoot from there :)
@@Digitalartandphotography I already tried that - I can change everything, but not put a single klick on the canvas. It is not just the brush tool, but all tools - selection tool, pen tool, gradient - nothing works. The thing about the brush selection I already found when I googled the problem, but all solutions are for brush issues, while mine is more all-encompassing, and it seems far more rare, as I found no tips anywhere on how to fix it. Hasn't happened all day yesterday though, so maybe its just a early-after-istallment-bug (I hope so). Thanks anyway. I liked your video very much - I have watched my fair share of tutorials by now and developped an allergy to the excessively slow, bad accent, repeating ones that are out there. Yours was fast, to the point, and you have a likeable way to present it with your comments , which makes it more personal and fun. Keep going - I subscribed, and I suspect you could get a very strong channel. You have that TV-anchor gift for personability!

Thanks so much, and absolutely. To remove all stray points you want to go to select -> object -> stray points. Then just delete them. Another way is to go to object -> path -> clean up -> and select delete stray points. It really just depends on how they phrase the question. If they ask for it in one step, then option 2 is the best bet. Good luck on the exam!! You’ve got this!

Sorry for my ignorance about this subject however is the exam being an applied exam or just Questions 🤔
