Anyone who has something so bad to say about this incredibly talented man is a fool, lost in their own opinions and self worth. He is the best and for so very long, for very good reason. Shame, on those who are spiteful. If you have nothing nice or constructive to say, don't comment. Most people are no where near the level of Kissin or any concert pianist for that matter to even comment.
***** "his sound is not that warm touching sound..." please stop right there, because if thats the case, your "critical ear" as you call it, is, well...garbage...sorry. If you dont know any recordings of him, youre an ignorant fool...How can you actually have an opinion on him, if you dont know anything...why do I even bother with these internet trolls
I do know that...and Im familiar with every single pianist you mentioned....its a little more complex when you try to state it...I know there are different opinions and i do respect them, I dont respect when someone is calling kissin an ordinary pianist, while every single note he plays costs him so much energy...look at his expressions...And the fact you dont see that, is called, a lack of empathy...
***** I get your opinion, I listened to this specific recording a couple of times the last days and I know what you mean. There a definetly, like you call it "warmer" interpretations, and I can understand why you prefer that sound. I do so myself on certain pieces. But!: You cant forget that this is a polonaise, its not a ballade, its not a prelude or nocturne. And Kissin plays it like a polonaise, he doesnt overplay the romance in this piece. It stays very firm, but at the same time, he plays the right parts with a very warm touch. Actually, when I heard this interpretation the first time, I was suprised with how soft he plays the first note of the melody. A lot of pianist play that note more mezzo forte, while kissin decided to play it piano. I get what you mean, but I stick with my statement, that this is the right way to play it for my taste! kissin nailed it. Still i apologize for my first comment, I couldve started this discussion in a more mature way.
bevallom,sosem szerettelek,mindig zavart a tökéletesség!
Ron Crooker I found a pristine copy of the score for this piece at a library book sale. Got it for one dollar! I never heard this Chopin work before. Kissin's interpretation is passionate and lyrical, yet full of fire when called for.
Peter Vantine Back in the early days, when your mom and I were taking lessons with Mimi and later Miss Flynn, Mimi used to play a few classical works - just to keep her fingers limber I suppose. I loved her playing the Rach C# minor Prelude. She played it with power too. She played other pieces not requiring power, but finger work - Sindig's Rustle of Spring and Kitten on the Keys and some others - light - but a touch demanding. She also played this but with a lighter touch, a bit less speedy I seem to recall,, but well. This was one of Chopin's I really liked. After joining the AF I don't think I ever heard Mimi play much, if any, pure classical. I Like Kissin's play though. He is good. His version of the Chopin 1st Piano Concerto is wonderful. Of course he plays it with Zubin Mehta and the Israeli Orchestra - can't get any better than that! Thanks for sending this along - I saved it to my library.

Yes indeed 🎵👏He is great👍👏😀‼️
Evegeny delivers the piano into the real of the masters, where is informed, and transcends us all including himself to a new magical experience,I list to him everyday to nurture my soul.....best sermon ever
가을에 특히 잘 어울리는 곡~
지금은 먼 곳 인제에 있는 아들과 함께 듣던 ~~~!!!
Best Interpretation, hands down.
this piece makes me so happy
Omg, we are on internet and two people understand each other after a little fight *___* Is this real ? You guys are awesome!
4:30 i love how he is feeling and being connected with music of Chopin
Yes indeed🎵He is miracle and great👍👏
it's almost not human to be able to have such technical prowess on the piano, unreal
Camera angles: PERFECT
Kissin’s techniques: NEEDLESS TO SAY
Just watched Evgeny's live performance at San Francisco Davies Hall last night. He is a genius! The best pianist at this moment.
Bravo, genial Maestro Evgeny Kissin !

come on this the best interpretation of the Grande Polonaise , truly amazing
Yes indeed🎶👏He is miracle and great👍😀👏
One heck of a performance. Very scintillating indeed.
bevallom,sosem szerettelek,mindig zavart a tökéletesség!
Kissin is Chopin incarnate. He is pure Chopin that world needs to admire and celebrate.
Maravilloso, estupendo, no hay otro mejor !
Incredible...bravo!
Hermosa actuación!!! Gran y hermoso sonido. Aquí estuvo presente el verdadero espíritu de Chopin. Genial!
Yes indeed🎵👏He is miracle🎶🎶💐💐
You can see at the end that he was actually disappointed, even though it was utterly perfection...
