The first time I re-watched the series, I had to pause and go on a tangent about how Ikuhara freaking foreshadowed the end of the series when I re-read the lyrics. He told us how it was going to end before it even began! XD

The first verse of this song is truly so interesting as it's the only one where the back-up singers and the lead seem to have completely different points of view about the situation at hand. You can read this however you like, but I'd to imagine that the lead is singing from Utena's POV while the back-ups are singing from Anthy's, which would be so extremely tragic yet perfectly fitting for both them. And the way it's implemented as a secret message, just like everything else about Anthy, is a genius move. Wish it were implemented more in the song, but regardless I love that they did it at all!

This show helped me help myself, I always thought I was trapped by the illusion of helplessness. And finally one day I “revolutionized” my world. that last line gives me tears every time
Yeah, it helped me too...to defecate better. I had some really ugly intestinal problems when I watched this show, this barf (Masami Okui and seiyuus permitted) really helped me in solving those problems. Thank you Ikuhara, you were very beneficial to my health.

Found this anime through an HD version being put on my recommended. Scrolled through the comments a bit and after ~3 weeks of jamming to the OP, and seeing how well regarded the anime seemed to be, I started watching it. Best decision I’ve made this month.
i bought the CD OST with anthy and utena upside down cover poster. this song and sunlit garden are my favourite and one more with vocal, i forgot name...that was 1997....
Serial Experiments Lain +1, but I'd also throw in Paranoia Agent. I do think Eva, Lain and Utena are all fairly understandable though. Follow the emotions and atmosphere rather than focusing on a cohesive plot.
@@thesupremenecroticdakimakura They do have a cohesive plot though, and yeah, all of those are not that hard to get, and neither is Paranoia Agent, at most you need to know some stuff about concepts like the observer effect for Lain, but that's the extent of it and it's pretty straight forward once you get the idea behind it. But the plot is told in a way that makes it confusing, way more so than Utena and Eva which is why i mentioned it (implying it would become OP's most confusing anime after watching). If i wanted to go for an anime that's hard to understand, i would probably say Haruhi. This one keeps tricking you into believing you get it and you just don't realize there's more to be digged out.
How I would rank how close every important character is from getting out of the school 1. Nanami and the "Onion Prince" 2. Juri 3. Mitsuru 4. Kozue 5. Touga 6. Keiko 7. Wakaba 8. Kanae 9. Miki 10. Saionji 11. Shiori I won't put Ruka and Mikage because they . . . couldn't make it But I would put Ruka in 2 and Mikage in 12

For some reason, I always thought this song is way better than say, Cruel Angel's Thesis. I mean, this OP literally sounds like girly revolution to me and it's great. I have this among my top 3 anime OP song of all time !

Cruel Angel's Thesis is iconic and irreplacable, but Rondo Revolution is also really, really good.

As songs on their own, Cruel Angel's Thesis can't be beaten. However, lyrically and thematically, this matches its show better.

Found this anime through an HD version being put on my recommended. Scrolled through the comments a bit and after ~3 weeks of jamming to the OP, and seeing how well regarded the anime seemed to be, I started watching it.

I do think Eva, Lain and Utena are all fairly understandable though. Follow the emotions and atmosphere rather than focusing on a cohesive plot.
@@thesupremenecroticdakimakura They do have a cohesive plot though, and yeah, all of those are not that hard to get, and neither is Paranoia Agent, at most you need to know some stuff about concepts like the observer effect for Lain, but that's the extent of it and it's pretty straight forward once you get the idea behind it. But the plot is told in a way that makes it confusing, way more so than Utena and Eva which is why i mentioned it (implying it would become OP's most confusing anime after watching).
If i wanted to go for an anime that's hard to understand, i would probably say Haruhi. This one keeps tricking you into believing you get it and you just don't realize there's more to be digged out.

at least in Nanami's defense, Touga likely groomed her into considering it okay, and later on in the show she realizes that was not what she wanted from him and is even sickened and confused by his advances
They weren’t trying to normalize it. It was part of the theme of deception and being taken advantage of.
