Thank you , I really appreciate your sharing these songs ins and outs . although I know them in my heart getting them out while playing in a band has been a challenge and you've made it easier and Maori comfortable . You re awesome and BTW that string pull that Jerry does that at the end of the video is crazy good
Just found this channel and you've become my new best friend. As a no talent guitar player I've been struggling to figure these parts out for decades. I just retired and I'm spending lots of time learning to play Dead. Thanks for taking the time to share.
I love your videos, Cliff - thank you! This one is particularly good - I've been looking for a clear breakdown of the Bob vs. Jerry parts to PitB for a while now, and yours is the clearest yet, by far. Thank you! I finally feel like I have a good grasp of all the little bits that make this song work.
Clif , appreciate your videos, could to possibly do one on Traffic's Rainmaker , cant find one anywhere, saw your Cant find my way home so i know you are a Traffic fan , would be great if you could
I actually wasn't that familiar with it even though I had low spark in high school. I will examine and see if i have anything intelligent to show about it...
What you do is amazing please keep it up! I have to say tho, that looks exactly like my first Stratocaster I have never the same exact one since. Mine was a Mexican at the time!
Well done sir. I wanted to play this song when I got back into guitar about 5 years ago. But initially, some of the videos I saw seemed really intimidating and frankly a bit confusing. You break the song down and take each guitarist and explain their elements. That way I don't have the whole song playing in my head which makes it even harder. Thanks for delivering a song I long wanted to play in a manageable fashion. Elaborate, if you could, on the effects set up, please.
Cliff, how do they get into the Jam? I mean, in the europe 72 at the lyceum, they do a modal change for the jam (i dont know if it is dorian or myxolidian)
@@vedantus Thanks for the answer man!! When you figure out how they do it, please tell me... It's been a while since i've been trying to play the jam section of the lyceum version. Greetings from Brazil
Greatest is a very difficult song in the instrumental part, we are learning it in our band right now. This link shows some of the complexity of the break: th-cam.com/video/1xAbecdhTUg/w-d-xo.html I've love love let it grow and will put something up soon!
This is fantastic work thank you!
I know for a long time this song eluded me until I learned it correctly
Fantastic thank you
our band has just started going from China Cat into Playing instead of Rider
Thank you. A few of these sections were always kind of baffling to me. Thanks for clearing things up for me, much appreciated. Rock on!
I remember my own bafflement!
‘tis the best kind of bafflement
Thanks clif!
I will be adding more on Uncle John 's soon
Would love to see what you are strumming as well.
I know, I always am too close!! I can Skype with you for ten minutes if you need to see it...

Did it later emigrate and become not mexican? Haha, yes made in Mexico and plays amazingly
😂 I wasn’t sure if yours was American or not, but yes that guitar made me fall in love with strats!
Great stuff Cliff. Thank you very much for time.
Really appreciate your efforts! They are extremely helpful

The effects that the dead use or...?
Clif Edwards the effects the dead use on this song
I know that Jerry used the wah pedal (Vox V847) and also sometimes kicked in the vibrato on the twin reverb
Freaking Great! One of my favorites!
I love your videos! Have you ever thought of making instrumental jam backing tracks for those of us that need a bobby for our wannabe jerry licks
Thanks. Grateful Guitar lessons dot com has backing tracks for all of his lessons, and they are really good, albeit costing a bit.

I'll have to get back toyou after I have mastered the jam... my rhythm guitar player and I are working on it based on the seth lessons

I have been working this week on the end jam of Cassidy and getting the Lydian E licks into my fingers@@farleys1376
@@vedantus What are the seth lessons, by the way?

Cliff did you ever do any Greatets Story ever Told? or Let it Grow?
