They are Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. They were a top folk music duo in the 60s and very early 70s. Simon wrote all of their songs...a true poet. Kathy’s Song and Bridge Over Troubled Water are two of my favorite songs by them. I wore out their albums when I was young. 😊🌹

We had so much talent in the 60’s and 70’s. It was amazing to grow up listening to the music. So many songs back then touched the heart. Or they grabbed you by the throat and wouldn’t let go.

Hey, hey good looking. You played the original recording of the original duo. It was released in early 1964 and they had the assassination of President Kennedy in mind. It never really hit, but when they were on a tour in Europe, they heard it on the radio. Suddenly electric guitars were put on without their knowledge. It was now a big hit. Their manege had had electrified comp. Their fantastic career had begun.

I would suggest Paul Simons Graceland album. He was heavily influenced by African rhythms and is supported on the album by Ladysmith Black Mombasa. Diamonds on the soles of her shoes is a great song.

He was heavily influenced by South African rhythms (actually heavily influenced is a bit of an understatement, he heavily plagiarised South African music!). Anyway I think this woman is from West Africa and the music is completely different.

Oh hun, you're just scratching the surface of these great pop icons. Liisten to the lyrics of "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" They're apt - especially today, yet written in the late 60s. And certainly explore Paul Simon from 1970s right through until today. Mid 70s is pure, smooth rock. Check out "me & Julio..." or "Late in the Evening"

The S&G version is like a Mom telling her toddler to put her toys away & go to bed.
The Disturbed version is like that same Mom, two hours later....having completely lost her sh*t, and is now screaming in rage at this toddler.
